Marmara Restaurant

Jaz, Viv and I were very fortunate to be able to come along with our lovely friend May to this restaurant on the Monday 16/05/22 with our friends and family. We absolutely loved the banquet that was set up for us by Abby and the team at Marmara, they did a brilliant job, will never forget the taste of the lamb cutlets in particular and my daughter did a special photo about her experience here. Her simple message is below.

The atmosphere is really nice and with food and dessert you can experience real Turkish culture. Apple tea was great and I loved it.

What an experience! Abi went above any beyond to provide an amazing experience for us. Not only was the food delicious and flavoursome, but the service was lovely and welcoming. I cannot recommend this place enough and can’t wait to come back. PS: order the Turkish martini! Hands down the best martini I’ve ever had.

Yummy food. Gave me a dish on the house because I was still hungry (I'm a large human being, everyone else was full)

Great food. Only issue at the moment was the slow service (Covid related) I hope. Also was told there were no seats available. However, once we were seated, about 10, /12 seats stayed empty for the rest of the evening.mmmm

We ordered the classic banquet. Unfortunately we had a poor experience as we waited over an hour for our mains to come + we didn't get all our dishes that we ordered and left the place still hungry. Although the food was nice, the portion size was VERY small for the price. Waiter only deducted $5 per person for our bill despite missing 3 dishes. I don't recommend ordering the classic banquet. Sadly will not be coming back again

Ordered the classic banquet, for $50pp we all thought that the portions would be bigger, you only get a skewer each, a chop each, little rice drizzled on plate, and a small bowl of iskender. The owner is very nice and attentive to needs, customer service was good, just thought portions would be bigger.

Tables are booked for a limited time, and when time is up, they basically ask you to leave, and we had just cut the birthday cake,

This restaurant is amazing. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely delicious – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. The cuisine pays tribute to the ultimate Turkish experience. Absolutely the best meal we have had, Highly recommend!

Gorgeous ambience. Reasonable prices and absolutely delicious food. I've been coming here for several years and never had a bad experience. The food has always been consistently amazing.

Went to Marmara last night and was blown away with a level of service and an attitude that I can only describe as Five Star *****.

We were welcomed to the restaurant by friendly young guy who showed us to our table. We were seated and a few minutes later the menus arrive followed a few minutes after that by the Manager/Owner who deserved a shout out. He was friendly, welcoming and had a lovely sense of humour. Nothing was too much trouble.

Our food arrived as requested and it too was delicious. Portions were generous and everything was really nice and fresh.

There was no shortage of staff with everyone’s attitude being great.

There is no doubt that the boss’s approach and wonderful disposition has rubbed off.

The best Turkish restaurant that I've been to. Delicious food, great service, responsible prices and beautiful environment. I highly recommend this place.

Phenomenal Middle Eastern food served by this legend is our fav.

You can easily say that this is our place to go to for a very delish and comforting meal.

Order any damn thing and rest assured, it'll turnout AMAZING

Ordered the classic banquet for two, was heavily disappointed, the portion sizes were abysmal particularly as they didn't even serve us half of our food. And only refunded 10 dollars. Sat there for at least hour for food to come out. The food we got was good, but we basically got scammed

We just had delivered the most fabulous Turkish meal from Marmaris. Everything we ordered was delicious - the doner, pide, manti and salad. The serves were very generous and tasty. We pretended we were back in Turkey - maybe next year! Thank you.

To be honest Chapel st is not normally my ' go to ' suburb for restaurants. I guess I did all that in 80's with Spaghetti Graffiti. However Abdul and the team made us so welcome and the food was perfect in every way. What a great surprise and so looking forward to returning.

Amazing staff. Clean facilities. Warm environment on a freezing night. However cutlet was tough, and drinks were slow so removed a star. Would give a second go.

OK food, confusing menu, too dark, gloomy songs and it is on the expensive side. Probably wouldn't go there again.

We had delicious special banquet of Marmara and Turkish Wine Sur! Everything was great the food, drinks and amazing recommendations from Tunca. Can’t wait to go again!
