Market Lane Coffee reviews
77Yes, great coffee, knowledgeable baristas, friendly service, what more do you want in a coffee culture city. New digs, means you can have an outdoor coffee (when Melbourne weather permits).
My first time here last year, the flat white was ok, not the best. Second time here this year and the flat white was too milky!: (I think it has to do with the long queue so the standard seemed to have dropped. The coffee at their standalone store is much better. Latte art still on point though lol.
Staff have an unpleasant attitude. No milk option, just full cream. Coffee is more expensive than others in the area, and doesn’t taste that great. I’ve given them a few chances and always disappointed. Only thing going for them is the fit out, much better than the alternative options near by. In this day of ample cafe choices, their really can improve their game. Starting with more pleasant staff.
It takes the very best coffee to compete in the bustle of Queen Victoria Markets. This café has it and more.
Great coffee, wouldn’t want to have it any other way. Surely the lack of milk options may annoy many people but for me real white coffee is with full cream milk, full stop. So come with an expectation that you will not be able to choose your milk, or your cup size, or have your hot chocolate here, if those aren’t for you then just don’t visit. I don’t see you coming to a restaurant and complain about not having a particular dish that you like that isn’t on the menu, right?
Their tea is nice! And cafe latte, I love it so much! Went back and bought a second cup! Worth a try:)
Truly excellent coffee in a very calm, relaxed environment. It's more like visiting a cross between a library and a day spa that happens to serve coffee. Very nice staff who are quick to remember your name and usual order. I'm lucky enough to have this place on my walk to work.
Very friendly staff! I feel like I could always have a chat with them about their coffee. Love their flat white as well. Looking forward to trying out more of their beans.
A must stop for coffee in the Victoria markets. Aside from the fact it’s right next to stinky fish market, the coffee is divine
Best coffee in the area, the staff are always genuine and friendly.good looking baristas too, btw, if that's your thing.
Coffee is gud but u will only enjoy if u dine in n not take away. Abit pricey compared to neighborhood cafes.
I think they didn't tell the difference between flatwhite and cappuccino. Also they are so rude. I was regular customer but I'll never be there again
Awesome coffee, staff is very friendly and knows their trade. I particularly like their beans and pour over coffee!
Too hip to cater for allergies. No dairy free milk option. Went 2 mins to Padre’s and got great coffee with dairy free milk at no extra charge.
Probably one of the best coffee shops in Melbourne. The baristas are friendly, flat whites are good and the price is reasonable.
Coffee with attitude. Bad attitude. We went to the one inside the market and there wasn’t a smile to be seen! Nor any soy milk, or light milk, just coffee the way they want you to have it. I’d go as far as saying it’s a tourist trap now. 2 stars because the coffee was still delicious - but this is Melbourne and you’d expect no less.
