Market Lane Coffee

It’s a controversial take but in my opinion this is the best coffee in Melbourne. Nothing fancy and no new fads on the menu. The a place serious about coffee and they do it very well. When the first opened they only did cows milk as they are purist. Not 100% sure if that is still the case. The magic here is the best coffee I can imagine, not much room for improvement

Great coffee, but would have been better if they got the order right. Didn’t ask for a new one. Don’t want to get cranky with a Melbourne barista. I.e. Royalty

Coffee is great, but not the service. I was standing in front of the waitress with the afro hairstyle when she called up for my name. Instead of passing my coffee to me when I stretch my hand out to grab my coffee, she instead put it on the stool. This is plain rude! I thought it was due to the covid-19 rules, but it was not! I saw her passing it to other customers! This kind of customer service won't get you far!

I was a really really big fan of Market lane coffee for over years but I've got just okay coffee after the brown packaged seasonal bean had been gone.
Today I tried new one (blue) in the market and it was so bad honestly.couldn't finish even half.
Just lost the typical beautiful market lane coffee (chocolate and plum things)
And also blond hair girl made really hot coffee (froth wasn't good) and didn't give me coffee right away, just left it nearby the machine after she made it and waited other staffs to bring it out to me even though other staffs were all busy. One was getting orders and the other was making pour over. Such a bad service.
Need to do more duties not only make coffee.

The barista (Koa) gave a thorough description of the two roasts available that day and offered a personal recommendation on which would serve my order (cappuccino) best. They were spot on with their recommendation - kudos to Market Lane Coffee for hiring knowledgeable, helpful, and sincere staff.

Been here a few times and the service has been fine. Today, the person taking the order seemed a bit rude and disinterested. Coffee was fine though.

Superb coffee. Hard to find a quality coffee with equal quality milk! Excellent flat white and an excellent pour over as well.

This is the kind of place that makes the “Melbourne coffee scene” cringe worthy. They only serve one type of milk - full cream. Lame. Avoid unless that’s your milk of choice.

Melbourne's famous coffee shop There are many branches in the city. This branch is located in the Queen Victoria Market. Dry food zones are on the corner. Not noticeable because there will be many customers waiting for queues every day. The taste of the coffee is delicious.

Location has shifted but so has the experience. No space to sit, long wait for coffee even on a non-market day, no quick-batch brew coffee option? Simply not as good as it used to be.

Located along a busy street, picked up a cuppa during morning peak hour - there’s a slight wait for 5 minutes but that’s to be expected. Good flavoured and rich aroma, and friendly staff! Thumbs up!

Very nice filter coffee! I you are a coffee lover this is the right place where to taste a differnt coffee enjoying the nice atmosphere of the Victoria market of Melbourne. If you are around the market and want to drink a coffee i really recomend this coffee shop!

It was okay, but their coffee spritzer (tonic water, espresso, and ice) was interesting! I’d say it’s a must try

Great coffee with fruity depth. Interesting experience: I can see everyone in the queue waiting for their greatest hits. Short wait nevertheless.

Clam and light atmosphere located in the queen vic market. Good quality coffee served by nice staff, a very good option to who want a cozy place to enjoy coffee.

There's actually 2 locations within QVM. The main store with seating along Victoria Street on the Northern side of the markets (after they moved from Therry street a few months ago). But they also have a storefront inside the QVM deli section. The main store is definitely worth a visit if you haven't found them yet!

The texture of the coffee is so good, flavor is perfect! Milk steamed so nice and good to drink tho. And the atmosphere about the history of this city is amazing match! Lovely old market and lovely coffee shop.

It was cold and crowded in the vic market, but with the help of this coffee, it really made my day.

Service was good, coffee tasted awesome, people wait in a long line to get a good coffee here, but the good thing is the serving speed was not long.

It really is recommended!
