Market Lane Coffee reviews
77This is my go-to place for coffee when in Queen Victoria Market! There are 3 branches of Market Lane in the immediate area, but this one is my most frequented one due to the decent number of seats. There may be some waiting time before you get your coffee, due to the large volume of orders and customers. Regardless, expect quality cups of coffee, whether you get a long black, a flat white, or a filter coffee. Their Ethiopia Jigesa filter coffee in particular is a good choice for a light and fruity cup. Their selection of whole beans, tea, and other mechandise for sale are readily available in any of their 3 branches in Queen Vic Market as well. I would say they are one of the safe and established choices when it comes to getting coffee beans for home brewing. Their reputation is so good that a coffee shop in the Philippines (Panco) uses coffee beans from Market Lane for their coffee menu! To all coffee lovers, never skip the opportunity to grab a cup of coffee from Market Lane, when in the area.
I bought coffee from the store in the qvm deli area. The frozen latte is very delicious. I really like the aftertaste of the coffee and it has a caramel/honey aroma.
Great coffee - much needed to keep me going in the markets. Came recommended by another Barista (from another top rated Cafe in Melbourne).
Delicious coffee prepared with passion. I also recommend trying the tea from this place. The service was very nice.
They definetely knew what coffee is and how to prepare it. Really nice people and great atmosphere. Can't wait to visit again!
Saturday morning queue time around 10 minutes. Serve pure good coffee only. For food, grab at the market… there seems to be a crazily long lineup at a doughnut van. I think it will pair good with the coffee.
Came because the place is famous, but the coffee taste is too sour for me
I ordered a latte
Awesome coffee
Extremely nice barista / staff
Great relaxing atmosphere
Honestly great place to chill
We had the flat white with organic milk and the apple hazelnut filtered Brazil coffee and both were amazing
5/5 for sure
I was introduced to this place by a local and it sure doesn't disappoint! Manned by 3 lovely Japanese ladies when I was there, they were on the top of their game when it comes to service.
Coffee wise, full bodied and and rich. Loved the aroma and they sell the coffee beans too.
1st time here with filtered coffee. I Chose el nogal, columbia. It's good for the 1st one of the day. They said thank you by name to all customer?
Actual proper good coffee? Lovely atmosphere with weekly changing flowers against a nice curtain backdrop and very friendly, listening service.
Great coffee and beautiful shop. Love the attention to detail, love the Schulz milk ️ and love the reusable cup program!
Visited here twice during my trip here at Melbourne!
Coffee was very good and was really busy in the morning so can tell here is also loved by everyone? ️
Staff were very kind and friendly as well?
The coffee is actually really good. I’d rate it in my top 5 in Melb

Melbourne
Great coffee. Friendly staff. Prices are a bit higher than average Melbourne. Most Flat Whites in the CBD are $4-5, here it is $6.
Market Lane coffee in the Queen Victoria Market is also opened on Mondays and then it is amazingly quiet and pleasant.
Good variety of brewed coffees, actually 4 different roasts to choose from. I decided for a washed Kenyan coffee as a V60 brew. Nice acidity and fruitiness as you would expect from a Kenyan coffee. Apricot and also peach with a hint of sweetness. A nice balanced and well roasted bean.
I am sure their espresso is nice as well. So a clear recommendation for coffee lovers
I wish it did decaf. (Yeah it's a thing Melbourne! People used to scoff at zero % beer).
Coffee took way too long, upwards of 10 mins for a flat white and a cap. Asked for sugar, it wasn't stirred. Would not recommend
Excellent coffee and great staff. They also had the replacement part I needed for my AeroPress!
This place gets really busy, and service is quite quick. Very popular for their coffees but it wasn’t for me, the coffee beans they use make the coffee has a sour taste to it.
I give it a 6.1/10.
They have cold brews availabke and also beans to purchase aswell.
