First meal of 2022, Lunch at Marions, Bloody Marys followed by lots of great share platters of tasty food, well priced, beautufully presented! Heirloom tomatoes dish a highlight of balanced flavour, texture and colour, a summer triumph, followed up with an equally summery dish of elderflower pannacotta with strawberry sorbet and blackberry's. Look forward to another visit soon for pre dinner cocktails and snacks beforee heading next door to Cutler and Co.

Delicious unpretentious food.

Had the rump cap with salsa verde. Love the acidity in the salsa verde which helps to cut through the richness of the steak.

Lovely waiter brought a wrong order of fries. Rather than throwing it away, she gave it to me for free, which was a pleasant surprise. Fries were freshly fried and crisp, thus delicious.

Dessert of baked chocolate and whisky cream and oats was comfort food at its best.

Service of staff were great. Despite a full seating at 2.30pm (!), they were all courteous and attentive throughout.

I also appreciate that some of the appetizers and sides can be served as half portions, making it friendly for solo diners.

Popped into Marion on our way home, it was delectable. The ambiance & service is so on point.

Highly recommend! Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Food was 10/10. Truffle toastie and their complimentary bread were highlights. Chic, warm and inviting space that sets the perfect tone for a date night.

Attended for a birthday dinner. Staff were very welcoming and professional throughout the service. Kitchen serving up some great dishes including the rump cap. Also added a candle for the birthday dessert - nice touch. Will definitely be back.

One of the better wine bars out there with a great vibe, friendly non intrusive service, great layout (love the window seating), quality food and good wine list.one of the best free breads (that flatbread is seriously good), and the starters are all excellent.chicken was as good as ever, but I thought the pasta dish was a little too sour/tart for my liking.desserts were great especially that ridiculous sponge.

Marion is a great little bar to visit during the day that you can nibble through as you enjoy your wine sipping session. Their wine collection is absolutely CRAZY - come visit and find out yourself!

Such a cute and homely venue. I have been dying to try the baked cheesecake, and as someone who lives in the south-east I took the opportunity to head in and grab one while I was in Fitzroy. There are no regrets! Beautiful food.

Marion is doing a great job serving coffee, selling bread, fruit and vegetables. The bread and pastries are excellent. I can particularly recommend the cheesecake.

Good product, unimpressive service

Ordered a basque cheesecake and an escargot on line for my partner’s mothers day breakfast
Arrived to find no escargot, and “ unable to say “ when it might be available.
Substituted by a chocolate croissant, which Im told was good.
On getting home, discovered the cheesecake was actually a brownie.
Irritating.

Beautiful restaurant with excellent service. Our food was delicious and the staff helped us with excellent suggestions. They were also very attentive to my friend who is coeliac. Good atmosphere. Highly recommended

I just went for desert to try the ‘strawberries & cream’ which is on their menu. It was pretty good and has a very nice sorbet on top, of the quality you can only find in nice restaurants (but not in most icecream stores). The sorbet scoop is placed on top of some kind of fluffy whipped cream, sliced strawberries and some meringue sticks. It’s pretty good. Didn’t blow me away but was nice anyway.
It’s $15 which sounds expensive but that’s pretty standard for a desert at a fine dining restaurant.

Expensive dishes but wonderful upper class interior and atmosphere. Beautiful wine bar for a bit of a special night out.

Overpriced, underwhelming and reasonably forgettable. Pippies hadn't been purged and were chewy served with a mountain of fennel tips and crunchy fennel that overpowered beyond belief. All other dishes were just ok at best. Service too.

RELAXED AMBIANCE, WINE LIST WITH SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AND A DECENT CHOICE OF GRAZING-STYLE DISHES
Marion is right next door to its upmraket sibling, Cutler and Co in uber-trendy Fitzroy.
The scruffy exterior hides a delightful bar / restaurant which is small enough to be cosy, yet large enough that you dont feel that you are in a fish bowl.
It has a more pre and post dinner or event feel but we went there to have dinner and celebrate a birthday.
Six of us were seated at a very spacious round table near the bar / open kitchen which made us feel more connected with the food and the staff.
It wasnt especially noisy and although fully booked, didnt feel crowded.
A bottle of wine, sparkling water and more food than we could finish cost us around $450 in total.good value considering the high quality food served up!
The men lends itself well to sharing, so we selected a range of smaller items to share between us (the menu isnt divided by entre and main but rather smaller and larger) then chose a larger dish each for main course.
Everythuing was perfectly cooked and presented. The style is more "upmarket bar food" than traditional restaurant but it all works well together.
There is an outdoor seating area which is quite comfortable and puts you right in the middle of Fitzroy life.
People with mobility issues will be fine as the restaurant is all on one level. Probably not a good choice for thsoe seeking a meat-free meal as ther are very few vegetarian options.
Overall a really good vibe, high quality food and friendly staff.
