Tried the Groupon offered but I think the food is average, I wouldn’t want to pay for the full price.

The restaurant is very dark and literally feels like you are in a cave.

Excellent food and good service. The decor hasn't changed much over the years but that's part of its charm. Wish I lived closer so I could go more often.

Beautiful experience esp.when we celebrated our wedding anniversary, food and ambiance very romantic.

Food, service, and atmosphere are excellent. However for the average person is quite expensive.

Lobster cave never disappoints. Everytime I go there I'm always satisfied, from their seafood platters to their steaks. Delicious. And better not forget their desserts plus its BYO and no corkage. Great atmosphere and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. What I love is the specials they have during the weekdays. Recently I had the scotch fillet with vegies and mash and the lobster tail with prawn, crab pilaf. For dessert I had the chocolate and vanilla crepe cake with butterscotch and Agricole rum. That was to die for. It was so light in flavor and the texture so creamy. Great night out. Thank you.

Went there for Friday lunch as a surprise treat for my mother before her 80th, it was fantastic, the food was amazing and great service, parking may be a bit of a struggle but well worth the effort just plan for that, the best Salmon I've ever had in my life, while they have an exceptional reputation and you can see why after trying their food their prices are very reasonable and competitive with most restaurants our Friday lunch for 4 cost the same as 4 good steaks at a counter meal for lunch on the Sunday. Definitely recommend with great food and value.

We have visited this restaurant a few times, which was normally a pleasant experience.
Last night, the restaurant was about 50% full, with plenty of staff.
From being seated, there was a delay of approximately 10 minutes, then two different wait staff offered to get glasses for our wine. We then waited for some time.
On our table was a bottle of water and water glasses. As no one offered us water, and we were still waiting for our wine glasses, we drank this water.
We both ordered surf and turf, which arrived promptly. The seafood was a little disappointing- overcooked or precooked. As steak is cooked to order, this tasted ok, but a little grey. Our main waiter was a little arrogant, only speaking to my partner with his back to me. (Not standing side on to the table)
We decided to leave without dessert.

Upon receiving our bill, the original water bottle was charged at $8.90.

We had a wonderful evening. The service was awesome. The food delicious. We were well looked after.

Great service, amazing food! We even received a box of 2 chocolates at the end to say "thank you for dining with us" - such a nice touch!

Lobster Cave is always a treat!
The food there is always absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are generous.
The floor staff are amazing, they are incredibly engaging, give amazing service and quiet frankly go above and beyond.

Upon arrival we were warming greeted and told of our special reserved table for our anniversary. Dan our waiter for the evening was a breathe of fresh air. His alertness, patience and professionalism was greatly appreciated.and acknowledged. Our meals (as per usual) we’re spectacular.
The complimentary detest wine and chocolates were very much appreciated.

Great for a one time experience. It is pretty expensive, but the service and food is excellent.

Very good service, food was excellent although I thought a little over priced but offset as you could BYO.

Superb special occasion take away. The seafood platter and lobster mac&cheese were delicious. Portions were huge and they also gave us complimentary bottle of wine and tiramisu Best seafood experience in Melbourne!

Big plates off great food. Big $$$ too. Great atmosphere. Good service. Food room to improve. But definitely didn't left the place hungry.

The seafood was fresh, and skillfully cooked well - nothing over or undercooked. The scallops were big, plump and juicy. That lobster bisque was rich and luxurious.

Portions were adequately generous, and everything was tasty - the rice that came with the Ultimate Platter is still talked about in reverent tones! Even the steak was cooked exactly medium as we had requested - an achievement not even some steakhouses get right all the time.

Staff were friendly and looked after us well too.

Very expensive, prawn cocktail $80! Dinner for two $500! Was very taken back about the pricing Embarrassed, who would pay that money! It’s just food! We just walked out!

Five stars for great quality food, great customer service and a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back more often. Our waitress Bandhu was friendly and helpful with food recommendations. Prices are five star but so delicious. They often have specials which are great if you can’t afford to eat here often. They also have a free membership which provides special deals for special occasions such as anniversary or birthday.

Dining experience worth mentioning! Fantastic food, excellent service and very warm ambience.
