Leonda By The Yarra

Had my wedding at the Leonda Garden Room and Courtyard this November.

We are completely overjoyed by the support we received from Kendall, Luna, Jen and the wider Leonda team. Despite the initial niggles with the weather on the day, everything went smoothly. We were greeted to a beautiful outdoor setting (one of the main reasons we picked Leonda) and the guests enjoyed it too. The reception was also amazing and all of us had an amazing night. Our overseas guests from Paris, Dubai and London were amazed by the hospitality and the unique location next to the river. Our local friends also loved the wedding, all thanks to the Leonda team.

This will be a night to remember for a long long time. Our Event Architect, Luna mentioned in the initial consult that Leonda/MEG was a values based business and we wholeheartedly agree - one of the other reasons we picked Leonda.

Delicious Food, Friendly and Professional service staff and excellent facilities. Dropped one star due to the fact that one of three men's toilets were not working properly

Attended my brothers wedding on Saturday and everything was fantastic. Exceptional service from Damien. That man deserves a raise! He went above and beyond for all the guests and always with a beautiful smile!

We had our wedding at Leonda by the Yarra. From the start, their support and organisation was second to none. We felt looked after and like we were in safe hands with them. The staff were so kind and lovely. The Indian banquet was also delicious!

One of my favourite venues in Melbourne, Leonda is a stylish, modern function centre with great views to the Yarra from the floor to ceiling windows, especially at sunset.
I've attended quite a few functions here, fantastic staff, super friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble!
Restaurant quality food beautifully plated.
The main room has a large mirror backed bar area on the marble tiled mezzanine, which adds an air of elegance and sophistication.
There is also a smaller space, The Garden Room, which also has floor to ceiling views of the Yarra and adjacent garden courtyard.
Off street Parking is available in the council carpark adjacent.
If you are at a day function make sure you get a parking permit from the staff to put in your car (FREE) or you'll almost certainly get a ticket!

Been here twice. Last time was for my cousins wedding two weeks ago. Atmosphere is beautiful, staff are professional and the food was amazing.

Attended the wedding of Michael and Filomena last night. Great venue great food unbelievable staff … cannot recommend more highly … well done to all …

Overall really disappointing.

I initially had a great experience with Leonda. Greater with a glass of bubbles, and timely email responses to all my questions, friend may staff.
Unfortunately my fiancé and I broke up.
I gave Leonda over a years notice to cancel the wedding.
Understanding that we had signed a contract and given a “non refundable” $5000 deposit I still thought it fair to ask that if I was to find another couple to fill the date if they would refund the deposit.
The answer was no.

* unless I find someone to take over my exact contracted amount/ package value and organise for them to directly transfer me the $5000 deposited amount and transfer the co tract to their name.

I just feel taken advantage of.
It’s a shame that such a large company feels it ok to just take such a sum of money with no real exchange of service or product.
I understand holding the deposit until and if the date is filled, and or holding a portion of the amount. I recognize that it was hard on that industry over the last few years, but everyone had it tough. It’s just taking advantage.

Went to a wedding here, great inside and great outside. Right next to the river. Plenty of parking.

I shoot here regularly for weddings, where couples have their receptions. It's easy to shoot awesome photography here because the interior is so well laid out for my style.

The venue is very beautiful, the food is also amazing. What I didn’t appreciate is how rushed everything is on the day. We went for the gold package so there were some extra foods such as antipasto plate etc.however, everyone who called us to congratulate us following the wedding commented on how they didn’t get to enjoy the food as much as they would have liked. We had a band on and everyone got up and dance, when they got back to their seats, their food was gone.
This was the same for the antipasto plates, their main meal and also their desserts.

If you’re planning to have a live band where people will get up and dance. I would advise to reconsider the venue or talk to the event coordinator. See if they can accomodate your request for not getting the food cleared off the tables so quick. My guests also had the same comments about their drinks on their table, it seems like waiting staff are in a rush or something. So overall, great venue, nice food but the service can be improved. Great service doesn’t not equate to efficiency! Please consider how much the customer is forking out for their wedding. Allow their guests to enjoy their food and drinks rather than focusing on efficiency of waiting staff.

Attended a wedding / reception here. Food was one of the best wedding food I've eaten. Canapé, cheese board, entree, main and dessert were all enjoyable. Based on the empty plates on the table, I wasn't the only one happy. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Leonda by the Yarra is a lovely events venue, very spacious and elegant looking. Was there for a wedding, a few things to nit pick at, guests arriving at 6.30pm and people running around setting tables. Putting up seating board, setting table in foyer, plenty of staff around, yet when serving canapes staff had no form of direction as to how to serve the guests. Bar was well on the ball with drinks and cocktails, the main seating area was setup beautifully. There was a miss match of chairs, plastic and wooden padded chairs, very uncomfortable plastic chairs for a long function. Food was plentiful, well presented, though our table was missing flatbread which was to go with the antipasto platter. To top things off my plate has a fly plastered on the dessert, not very appetising.

Meals can be hit or miss, but this is typical of most reception centres. It really is a beautiful spot if you're looking for something not to far from the cbd.

Beautiful place to hold Wedding, Reception or even big birthday party. Excellent service and amazing Staff.

My hubby and I were married at Leonda on Saturday, on a beautiful winters night. We got married in the courtyard and had our reception in the garden room. All the staff at Leonda were fabulous on the day, including Tom, our operations manager who made sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes (thank you, Tom!). Our wedding coordinator was Abbey, and honestly, I don’t have enough words to describe how truly amazing and helpful she was throughout the whole event planning process. Abbey made me feel calm and assured me that everything would run smoothly on the day, and it certainly did.

Throughout the entire process Abbey was attentive and made us feel like she has everything and no task was to great or small. Abbey was set on making sure our dream wedding was doable.

The night itself ran like clock work, all the suppliers were organised and the food was incredible.

I conducted a marriage ceremony there. The Yarra was a beautiful background for my couple's photos. I didn't attend the reception dinner, therefore can't judge food and service

Clean and friendly staff, easy and convenient parking. Just a bit bland and sterile, given the location it could be spectacular.

Gave a 5 star, but it is really a 4.8 star. Food was very good and plenty of it. Washed it down with some nice shiraz. Very good experience.

We were married in the Garden Room almost a month ago and we couldn’t be happier with how everything went! First, Abbey was the best person to work with – easygoing and professional from the start, and made us feel stress free and that everything will be perfect, and our day absolutely was. Couldn't ask for a better person to work with. All our expectations were met and the food was AMAZING. Everyone had such a fun night and went home full and couldn't eat the next day! Highly recommend Leonda by the Yarra for any event!
