Le Taj Restaurant & Lounge

I came for a mis week dinner with my sister and we loved the experience from the beautiful decor and layout to the delicious food. We had entree and mains and couldn’t fault anything. I would recommend the beef madras, so tasty.
The staff were wonderful, so friendly and prompt. Make sure you give this place a visit! You will be hooked and will want to go back again.

Get a butter chicken hot and some naan bread to dip and you're ready for a flavour explosion

(WARNING KEEP AWAY) The owner of this restaurant gives Indian people a bad name. He is very rude & they will rip you off with some tiny meal portions that wouldn’t classify as a meal by any means, (DON’T BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY)

What a beautiful fine dining experience we had at Le Taj! The ambience is so cozy and peaceful with soft music and beautiful interior. The food here was a treat in every sense. The curries were full of flavour and so scrumptious. We had dal makhani which I loved accompanied with jeera rice which was absolutely delightful!

We also got Kadhai Chicken and Chicken Vindaloo which were both absolutely delicious. The chicken was so tender and full of flavour! We had mango lassi accompanied with our meal which was obviously delicious. We overall loved the dining experience here and highly recommend this restaurant

The best restaurant for a crunchy soft buttery perfectly cooked naan, and their butter chicken is damn good. I get this at least once a week and can say from going to many curry places that le taj is the best to hit that curry craving you get. Manager is friendly and staff are great. (when you order soft drinks make sure to ask for the can not in a glass)

Ordered a Tandori Mixed grill, which was obviously reheated in a microwave. The Tandori Chicken was a drumstick, the chicken tikka tasted like it was cooked over the weekend, the lamb kofta was tasteless and seemed deep fried and the lamb chop looked like it was taken from the rubbish. As soon as I unpacked my food, it looked like it was only fit for dog food. The pappadom was old and soft, the nan was small and covered in oil. The food was inedible and was thrown in the bin. I'm staying at an hotel and was left to eat crisps as an evening meal. I'm all for supporting family restaurants, but if this is the food you produce for $36 you really don't deserve to be open.

I have known Le Taj for many many years and I would proudly and honestly say that I have discovered my second curry home. There is nothing can beat this place. The team are incredibly welcoming and very respectful friendly people I have ever met. Food is Devine. The curries are cooked to perfection every time day. Always clean and fresh. Never regret Le Taj food and the service

We had the vegetarian thali and the food was so so good. Homemade taste with no oil floating around in the curry. Absolutely loved it!

Chicken Bhut jolokai curry was delicious! Super spicy & super tasty. Chicken was incredibly tender.

Got dinner from here tonight for the first time. It was simply delicious. Best curries in Melbourne. Will go back again and again.

Nothing better than a hearty Indian feast during these cold winter days. Here you can dine on rich and delicious curries, aromatic grilled meats and seafood, and of course crispy and flaky naan. The curries are bold in flavour, and the meats and seafood are cooked beautifully. Amazing flavours abound, be ready for a gastronomic experience here!

I think I just had the best curry of my life. If not the best, it's top 3. They don't mess around when you ask for hot. It's the perfect level of heat for my love of chilli.

Love Le Taj! The Chicken Tikka was our favourite starter. The boneless pieces of chicken were tender, having been roasted to perfection in a traditional clay oven.

For mains, we adored the curries we had. The Chicken korma was a beautifully mild and creamy curry. It was a crowd favourite which had us fighting for the last morsel. The beef saag on the other hand was exceedingly tender and drenched in a, full flavour-laden spinach curry, courtesy of being cooked in a myriad of delectable spices while the dish curry was a lighter fragrant curry which was yet another enjoyable dish.

For dessert we enjoyed the dessert platter which included a rich, creamy, and amply sweet pistachio kulfi and decadent gulab jamun.

Modern Indian restaurant. North Indian dishes are preferred here. Usually crowded with group of people especially oldies. Papad will be offered as complimentary. Sizzlers will be good though we will like fish since we are getting raw smell. Biryani was average.

Tasty and rustic curries, with friendly staff service. I'd come back for the sizzling platters any day!

Great service! The vegetarian platter is a good starter for the night. Lightly battered and fried veggies with yogurt was a boom, Samosa!
Had a selection of curry and other mains to choose from but you cant not say no to the lamb Rogan Josh with naan bread & saffron rice.

Definitely dine here again or even try out lunch specials.
