Laurent Bakery Doncaster Westfield Shopping Centre reviews
74Food is fine, even made a vegan version sandwich which was well loaded (not just the animal proteins taken off). Big tick. They are now cashless and (like a number of other places) EFTPOS doesn’t work either so only choice is credit card. The ambiance is less positive than it used to be: many of the chairs are shabby with cane wickerwork in states of disrepair. And see many wait staff walking back inside empty handed while empty tables remain full of dirty dishes. Not so nice….
20min to get bottled juice and was told they were 4 staff down.
From what I could see the staff were on a go slow and working with no efficiency. Dishes were left at the tables we needed to clear ourselves
This is our first visit to a Laurent Barkery and we walked out with not a pleasant taste and experience. The coffee was awful, cold and took a half an hour to come out. Our choice of cakes didn't live up to our expectations. Our ultimate gripe was having to pay with a card as cash wasn't excepted unless you would like to give a tip, which was cash only. Very amusing!
This is the third time I have ordered a latte, asked for it to be warm not boiling hot and each time I get a boiling hot, burn your mouth latte. Today I waited 20 min for a take away latte and it was placed in 3 takeaway cups so I didn’t burn my hands as it was so hot. I specifically asked for a warm ‘not hot’ latte. Does Laurent not train their staff or is it standard to receive burnt milk in coffee these days?
Regularly see staff use the toilets in their aprons and not wash their hands. I’m not the only one who has witnessed this either
Every shop that doesn't display the prices of their products automatically disqualifies themselves as they apparently have something to hide.
Annoying that they spend money on unnecessary inserts (complete waste of resources, that YOU end up paying for) for their knives and forks, and yet they can’t supply a normal serviette. Their serviettes are like a toilet paper square. Horrible to use. And rip almost straight away.
Also, I have NEVER seen any of their water glasses clean. Even today, first thing in the morning, many were caked with food.
(This review was specifically for the Doncaster store)
Average coffee and food, sweets are good but pricey. Tables are usually dirty and this level of hygiene doesn't match the price of their service and foods. Also surprisingly they don't take cash which is very weird! Only eftpos.
We ordered the large latte & long black and it came in a bowl, it was massive! Paired well with the berry pastry. Lovely selection of cakes to choose from
Loved brunch today! Friendly service from Alannah, coupled with an awesome artwork coffee surprise by Juwan. It really made my day
Was crazy busy on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. Amazing selection of pastries and cakes on offer, I went with the pretty berry Danish and mocha. The berry Danish although was flavourful, the pastry itself was starting to get soggy and had no crunch to it. The mocha was pretty flat, watery and lacked any punch.
Anastacia provided us with very good table service, taking care to follow up the status of our order during a busy Tuesday lunchtime. Food quality and coffee was great too
Good Coffee. That's where it stops. Very small jammed into a corner next to David Jones. I feel like this place is the only option for tired and overwhelmed shoppers to walk in. The food here is quite bland (not exclusive to this location but Laurent as a franchise). If I was eating with my eyes I'd be satisfied because the cakes are well present but I'm always left disappointed with the lack of taste, value for money and diversity of the food it's average at best. Take away a coffee and keep walking.that's my suggestion with Laurent.
I am a regular customer. Generally I am happy with service, food and coffee. This morning I also went to have a nice coffee and some pastry as usual. The barista (Karen?) made a cappuccino (with a lot of milk foam) instead of a large latte, which I had ordered. She made a cappu-latte (?) this time when I asked for a latte. The customer sitting on my next table said that she was also having a cappuccino i/o a latte she ordered and it was unusual. As it was not a one time mistake, I presume this to be the absence of passion from the barista.
I would like to thank Talia for her customer service and kindness towards me. She went above and beyond to make sure my order was fixed
I would like to say that the barista Kula is the best barista i have ever come across, she knows exactly how i like my tea, the colour and temperature to perfection.l love eating here as well great service.
We ordered coffee at 4.42 PM today,
After waiting for long i went inside to see whats taking so long (at 5.10), i saw the coffee maker guy is so confused of what order needs to go out,
I requested and he said no prob i will do two caps after looking my receipt, which was for one skimmed cap and one for decaf skimmed latte,
It seems like this coffee shop lost its purpose and only charges customers with over priced products, not even worth it coming here when the product is expensive but the service is being received is cheap,
This isnt the first time that happened to us, i gave them the benefit of doubt the first two times
At last a taste of Italy! Except that this is the same type of coffee you can get at Italian train stations (long-life milk, tasteless coffee). The croissant is unacceptable in the 2022 Melbourne world.
One of my favourite cafes. Very unique taste of coffee.
Lovely berry danish!
Also chocolate cakes are on a different level!
Friendly staff (usually)
The main issue is the waiting time to get your coffee.
Above and Beyond! Despite a shortage of mini quiches, Tahlia and Alannah went above and beyond to organise substitutes and pop in a few extras to make sure our Christmas order was exceptional. Then on top of that communication was next level! Couldn’t recommend highly enough…. And the food…. Yummy!
