The menu is superb. I recommend the crispy salmon skin and wasabi salad. Nigiri Sushi platter (12) piece is most excellent. The atmosphere is fantastic. Presentation is on point. Be mindful of your dress code. Men especially if you’re wearing sandals (even though women are permitted with sandals) However if you are nice and respectful they may look the other way. Thank you KoKo for an absolute treat of an experience!

It was way too expensive for what it is. I thought we pay the premium for an experience. It turned out, food was OK (not amazing), Teppanyaki chef did not engage at all (he did not ask how I want my meat done, I had to tell him). Zero conversation (was he even happy to be there? Not sure.) Moreover, our order was mixed up so that kind of ruined part of our experience.
Ambience was wonderful and floor staff were attentive (hence 2 stars) and the drinks were nice.
I so wished it was a better experience after spending nearly $600 for 2 adults and 1 kid.
Utterly dissatisfied and disappointed

Dine in here for a plate of sashimi, like as you fly to Japan, no doubt on freshness.if you could book a table beside the window, your day will be brighten up with relaxation. Will go again.

Hands down one of the best teppanyaki at Koko. All of the dishes were made so well and the food was high quality and tasty. The chef was very entertaining, great ambience, food and service.

Teppanyaki room for a function was amazing. Friendly staff, great food, and a Chef with a sense of humour.

Very nice food, but with the set manu, even though it says for 2 people, but if can seperate all dishes into 2 serves. (1 dish for each person) will be much bettet instead.of sharing.
Deserts are nice too, but if it's ice cream instead of puff may be better but overall very nice! Recommend.

Outstanding service, reasonably priced teppanyaki lunch menu that'll fill you to the brim. I'm very impressed with the food and the restaurant's decor

Always a pleasure to come to Koko the service is always warm and friendly, try the udon and creme broulee for dessert! A table by the window means you can watch the boats along the Yarra go by.

Amazing experience. Was having a bad day and this just brightened my mood. The food whilst expensive but exquisite. What made this a 5 star for me was the chefs at the tapanyaki grill had bubbly personalities that I didn't want to leave. The Chef de Cuisine came out at the end and was a lovely Japanese man who was so excited to talk about his work and show us his photo album for his 20 year career at the restaurant. Can't recommend this place enough.

Went there on Saturday for tepanyaki. It was actually horrible way bellow average. Everything was tasteless only seasoning that was used was salt oil and pepper. We didn't even finish most meals and at the end paid $460. No show either with tepanyaki, we are so disappointed.

We recently visited koko and left quite disappointed. The only positive was the views as we were seated near the window overlooking Melbourne Aquarium and the Yarra river.

Firstly the menu is dramatically condensed from our last visit pre COVID. The food overall was bland from entree all the way to desert.

At $300 for two people, I will not be rushing back ever to soon

Got lots of recommenced from our friends so we give KOKO a try, was our first time and also our last time as well.
We ordered set menu and drink ($200/2ppl). Appetizer "Scallop roe" came out like 2 slices of cheap fish cake in supermaket
Sashimi is fresh but ruin with a bad powder mix wasabi. No wasabi kick and flavour
Then we got a Beef Tataki which looks confuse like Beef capachio so much dressing and a messy mix salad on top?
After all the entree we were waiting for 25 min for 2 mains course with rice and soup but everything came out was almost cold, the Blue eye fish was really nice but the Black angud steak was a disaster (Cold, over season and over cook) taste like a piece of wood, this is really NOT acceptable guys
The dessert and services was excellence, best pavlova we have ever had but for this price level we really expected something better.

Our dining experience at Koko was simply delightful. We were a hen's group of 13 women, a toddler and a baby and the staff remained coordinated and accommodating throughout. Everyone commented on the ambiance - the Japanese water garden and the views of the river as the sun set. The teppanyaki banquet was prepared right in front of us and tasted delicious. Several of us have said we intend to share the love and visit again with our respective partners. Thank you, Koko - we'll be back!

Had a private room here for a business dinner. WOW it was awesome. Food was beyond excellent and service was immaculate. Can't speak for the price but looking forward to another chance to visit with the wife. 10/10 experience.

Enjoyed this restaurant many times, we liked it so much that we had our wedding reception there. Top quality food and great wine selection.

We went on a Tuesday night and was appalled by the service and the food at Koko. The food was mediocre for the price they were charging. The restroom was disgusting. Overall would not recommend to visit this place.

- The waitress lied to us when we ask to be seated next table and she claimed that it was booked for a party of 5. Throughout our meal, no one sat in that area and only a couple came to seat there.
- The waiter who was servicing our teppanyaki seating area’s service was non existing. He didn’t collect our entree plates until main was over. Whilst I was still drinking my miso soup, he cleared my chopstick and spoon away.
- The chef who was cooking our teppanyaki served up uncooked chicken to the guests next to us and they complaint that their chicken was pink. Our medium rare beef came out cooked to medium to fully cooked.
- The wait between main course and dessert was over 40 mins and the waiter never confirmed with us what dessert we wanted from the package. They just ‘assumed’ we wanted the pancake. When asked where is our dessert a chef came out and made the pancakes in less than a minute in front of us. Had we not ask we will probably be waiting well into an hour to wait for dessert.
