The fence in our house was damaged by a falling gum tree. After we made the claim to RACV, JP Flynns was appointed as the damage assessor. The guy came measured the length of our fence by his foot and he only measure the falling fences not considering the whole side must be rebuilt. His measurements came back as 8 meters less than the fact and the cost estimate was half of other builders’s quote.

Ken from JP Flynn was excellent! He was prompt and responsive, explained the process clearly, followed up to make sure things were being resolved. My parents had to be at my place when he needed access whilst I was at work, and even they said he was very polite and supportive. In one of our follow up discussions, he even asked after them! That sort of personal service makes such a difference. Highly recommend! I’m

JP Flynn Builders was chosen by our insurance company to replace our roof. They have been reliable, professional, kept us informed with ongoing communication and have been accommodating when a few final touches were required at the end of the job.
Will certainly choose them if we need a builder in the future and recommend them to family and friends.

My home was a complete internal demo and rebuild after a hot water flexi hose burst. Every room in the house and wardrobe was effected by hot water damage, floor to ceiling. The JP Flynn crew were fantastic. Professional, friendly, supportive, attention to details and took owners needs into consideration of the rebuilding. Highly recommend using JP Flynn. Everyone from start to finish of my home are great at their areas of work. Trusted fully with my home. Very happy.

Engaged by insurance company for repair works to garage which had impact damage from car. Works required included demolition and rebuilding of front and one wall.
Great end result with works completed to an excellent standard. Cannot tell where old wall ends and new wall starts.
Excellent in followup ensuring I was up to date with progress and being happy with works to date.
Returned calls promptly
Very happy JP Builders were contracted to undertake my repair works and would not hesitate to recommend.

JP Flynn coordinated insurance work on our house after a hail storm damaged roof tiles and skylights and water damaged ceilings and affected electrical fittings. Their tradesmen were all efficient, timely and courteous. The repairs were complex. We are very happy with the result. All work was done with safety as a priority.

I honestly don't know where to start with this company. I had a house fire some seven months ago, and after a delayed start, noticed they weren't doing the work as per both Scope of Works - one from the independent building consultancy contracted by the insurer, and the one on the Customer Agreement that I signed with JP Flynn. I called the site manager to raise my concerns (who is also the national construction manager), and when I questioned the quality of workmanship on what had been completed at that point, he told me something to the effect of "it is an insurance job, things are done to a different standard", I took that to mean a lower quality job.this was in spite of us paying a premium on our policy for above standard work.

Part of the specifications of the job was to replace burnt rafters and joists (that is what the Scope of Works said). They didn't do that, instead they left the burnt beams in place and laminated with pine to reinforce them. I complained to the insurance company, who organised a meeting with builder and assessor on site, where he showed us the plans JP Flynn had contracted to a third party. They were for plans to laminate rather than replace (despite what had been clearly outlined the Scope of Works and Customer Agreement), and the builder and assessor both said that the Scope of Works isn't set in stone if easier solutions are found. The insurance company insisted that the builder rectify the issue as per specifications, however instead of replacing the beams, he simply cut out the burnt sections and laminated the new timber in place. Our claim is currently being handled by the insurer's internal complaints department who basically said "sometimes as a builder you find cheaper ways to do things, but normally you then pass the savings back to the insurance company".

The list goes on too, scotched asbestos eaves that were meant to be replaced (according to both Scopes of Work) that they striped back and repainted, though not enough and within a week they were bubbling etc etc

I would ask for a different builder if your insurance company suggests these guys.
