This is an amazing place, with amazing staff and such a wonderful food. Better than a dream in your mouth. Try the set menu vegan/non vegan either way it is perfect.

The food is amazing and it is a true dining experience. The chef's are super friendly and you can see and feel their passion and love through the food.
Can't wait to go back. Sitting at the bar is such a fun way to do it.

Thanks for a great night

Still an amazing Japanese eatery after losing some chefs (thanks to Covid) but picking up most of the team from ezard. Sit facing the bar for the best experience. Tempura was on point. Sashimi not to put taste (mackerel very fishy flavour). Cod was pleasant and delicate. Pork was the best dish by far with the bbq flavour from the grill. Sticky rice to finish plus was fried chicken wings extra. $95 a head plus drinks.

Maybe 3.5 stars. The $95 price package was a little short of expectations. Finishing with Kiritanpo (miso glazed rice) on the savoury side, felt like it needed another meat based dish to substitute. Fresh seasonal fruit as one of the deserts was uninspiring and as a result wouldn't recommend the $15 supplement. It was generally a good meal but personally had expected more. Nice venue and staff.

My wife and I had one of the best dining experiences in a very long time. Sat up at the bar and served by the head chef all night! Made us feel like part of the team and would explain the concept of each dish as he served it to us. We chose the banquet for an authentic Izakaya way of eating, comparable to a Tapas style dinner.
Food was amazing. 24 hr marinated swordfish over the hibachi grill was an absolute highlight! The tempura zucchini was so light and paired very well with the ‘soba noodle’ eggplant. The Sashimi with Australian grown Wasabi was very fresh and again paired very well with the tomato ceviche.
Everything was immaculately presented and whilst the food did take a little while to come through it didn’t matter as we were just so absorbed in the atmosphere and enjoying some banter with the chefs.

We stopped in here in between comedy festival shows and only had 40 mins. They had a set menu for comedy festival. Super delicious. Especially the swordfish of which we ordered an extra plate. They were conscious of the time and got us out on time and we got to our next show just in time. Loved the place, the food and the staff!

Totally not worth it. Wanted to like it because we were recommended by a friend but turned out very disappointing. For an $80 degustation, the service was unacceptable and the ingredients used were too basic. Although the staff were friendly, all of the foods arrived really late and we watched other tables that arrived after us got served the food first. It took more than 2 hours for the whole thing (not including desserts) and we left immediately after we got the last dish cause we were unhappy. They also missed to serve us one dish and we had to ask for it. Not to mention the $30 public holiday surcharge for 2 people for this level of service.

Me and my friends didn’t have a joyful dining experience at this place mainly because of two reasons.

Firstly, overprice set menu, only little amount of food costs us each person 80 dollars

Secondly, we almost had to wait every single plate of dish for 20 mins.we were starving and we had to bare with it.

Overall Im not gotta go back to this restaurant and will not recommend anyone who enjoy set menu to go too

Exceptional food. Friendly service. Innovative dishes. A great range of creative and delicious vegan dishes. The Icy Taiyaki was a triumph. Highly recommended. Will be returning soon!

Service, atmosphere, food, presentation all 100%. Lovely spot for a romantic rendezvous or a cheeky snack and sake. Thanks for a great night.

We got to try so many amazing little dishes! Every thing had flavour, and they were all edible and easy to enjoy. My top 3 favorites was the spicy tuna tataki, the grilled scallops and the pork belly. These all aligned with my personal preferences, and made my tastebuds dance!

The service was friendly, and booking is a must. Atmosphere is very moody, no natural light and there's quite a few suits after work. We spent roughly 1.5 hrs here, and it we a great time to catch up.albeit a little noisy since you're close to the other tables.

Very very average. Even if it was a $5 per plate place, l still would of felt ripped off. Sevice was good but price and quality extremely bad. Pork belly was tough, scallops tough, eggplant bland along with other dishes sampled. Feeling dispointed and still hungry!

This place has a certain magic. It is not obvious, being hidden downstairs with a dark curtain insinuating it is closed. But it is worth the effort.
The service is excellent, equal to many much more expensive places. The range of sakes is also very good and tasting is encouraged.
The food is delicate and full of flavour. The pork belly was aromatic and lightly seasoned, the smoked eggplant, served cold, a triumph.

Quite a fan of Japanese cuisine. I lived 1 year in Japan and was happy to came here. The fish was good and fresh. Oishi!

Great ambience and selection of drinks at prices one would expect from a classy Japanese joint. Good selection of tasty food as well although these may be a little harder on the wallet. Overall a terrific place.

Pretty decent quality salmon but small portions and slow, inconsistent service. Brought me sashimi before miso, and food before chopsticks and napkin for example. Somehow they were out of nigiri but had sashimi - because they have to use a different bowl for nigiri? The roll has lots of rice and little fish - tastes like I’ve dipped a rice ball in soy and wasabi. Can’t really taste the fish. With strong reviews I expected something better. Portions so small and with a narrow menu, I’m going to need to go out for dinner again elsewhere later. Bummer.

Update - after I submitted my review, a group of women sat down for their 8: 30pm Saturday night reservation and have been told they are completely out of fish. Yikes.

Nice place for a chat, first date or pre-movie snacks with a drink. Pricey, however, the food is of high quality. Large variety of drinks. Service is excellent. Highly recommended.
