69Myuki was super helpful over the phone when one of our dining party was unwell with COVID and we had to reschedule at the last minute. I really appreciated her flexibility and will definitely be back when we are all well. Great customer experience
I’m 43 years old. Eaten at a lot of nice restaurants. Literally the best steak I have ever had in my life. Never before have I had something melt in my mouth like that.highly recommend. Make sure you check it out! Brilliant!
Owner / chef also came over to our table and gave us a heap of time.
You can tell he is very passionate about his food and Service.
We will be back
What an amazing restaurant. My husband and I were spoilt with the culinary delights and superb service. We can't wait to return with our friends. Highly recommend.
Outstanding experience. Incredible vibe. Food that has taken so much thought to prepare. Was honestly gobsmacked at the quality of food. Corn best dish in town
We came here for my daughter’s 21st, it’s not the kind of restaurant we usually go to, but we enjoyed it. The food was pricey but high quality, beautifully presented & delicious. The dishes are ‘small plate’ type. Service was very attentive. Although we didn’t request it, dessert came with a birthday candle which was a lovely surprise.
A very disappointing experience. When we arrived the person greeted us while on the phone and we had to stand there for a few minutes until he finished the call.
The vegan set menu is far too overpriced, food came out too slowly and the desserts to share were horrid. After spending over $300 my partner and I left hungry. Only positive is that the food runner’s service was professional.
P. S.making a piece of asparagus look like is has a tail doesn’t make it worth $17.
Not sure if we visited on an off night. Waiter was friendly and service was reasonable but the food was very mediocre and extremely expensive for what it was. Serves were tiny and I really struggled to work out if it was at all Japanese. We all finished the $115 per head degustation and left hungry!
YES. YES. YES.this was a gorgeous experience! The music, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere. Perfect for date night. Upscale casual, vibes were on!
Incredible. The brisket is worth the price alone, great value for high quality. Portions were well spaced and a good size, perfect for a degustation without leaving you feel gross afterwards. Excellent, friendly service.
Over the past five years or so this has my been my favourite restaurant in Melbourne and it continues without fail to hold a special place in my heart. Keep it up! ️
This gem is hidden downstairs off the street with very little signage. Brilliant, vibrant and delicious food. Ox tongue, murray cod and brisket were standouts but honestly everything was sensational. Great service - planning our next visit.
This place is literally amazing. Food was delicious and service was above and beyond. I definitely recommend this place to anyone!
The food and service here is impeccable. We have been here quite a few times and it never lets us down. The quality is always fantastic and I love watching the prep. All the staff here are friendly and helpful if you are unsure about what drinks to settle on and Info about the set menu. The Murray cod is a stand out and the spicy tuna tataki as an extra. Vegetable tempura always delicious. Considering the variety, amount and quality the price is good value.
Amazing new version of an already great restaurant. Blade Runner vibes, excellent playlist, creative cocktails and delicious food. Tuna tataki and beef brisket were the highlights.
I don't know how this place isn't rated higher. The food was amazing, fresh and unique. The atmosphere sensational with a great playlist. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Just a really funky place for dinner and a drink.
Been here a couple of times, in a small group and in a date situation. Never fails to impress, love the sexy dark mood this basement izakaya gives.their karaage is so good and cocktails are delicious!
It's not great. Maybe the cool factor gets people through the door, but when it comes to the food, yeah nah. It is massively overpriced, unfairly so, for example the vegan banquet costs the same as the meat banquet. How is a sweet potato worth the same as beef brisket? If you like spending more than you should for something and thinking you're cool because you do, then this place is for you.
First meal out after lockdown! Wheeee. A Melbourne staple which I've somehow never been to. Chefs menu had plenty of fun dishes and the umeshu drinks were VERY tasty. Freedom Friday!
Came here as a treat to celebrate an engagement. Seriously amazing food and ambience!
The head chef was friendly, attentive and explained every dish to us. The staff were all great.
Although I didn't take pictures of the food, my favourites were the pickled/spiced cauliflower, the eggplant dish (absolute flavour bomb), the Murray cod and the bbq beef (both so tender and melts in your mouth).
They have a great range of Japanese beers too.
Great place and would highly recommend!
One of the best restaurant in Melbourne. The food is delicious, and each chef introduces their own signature dishes which makes the experience very personal and enjoyable. Amazing staff and atmosphere. The rice skewer was exceptional! And also a special prize for the vegan desert and the Madeleine with miso. It is worth trying the whole savoury menu to get to try many dishes. Wonderful experience.
