IMAX Melbourne Museum

THIS is how movies should be experienced. Went here to watch Oppenheimer, Godzilla Minus One (twice), and Blade Runner 2049. The IMAX experience is definitely worth the premium price and it differs greatly from the normal cinema experiences that Village and Hoyts offer. The curved cinema seating works as your neck won't become sore from turning your head toward the screen like in normal cinema screens. The sound and picture is breathtaking especially for blockbusters like Oppenheimer. Here's a tip, come to IMAX on Tuesdays for discounted tickets. On top of that, BIG LEAGUE membership is an affordable yearly membership and is 100% worth it if you come here often.

Took the kids & saw the Arctic doco in 3D. Well worth the price & 45mins is a perfect length for the young ones. Good day out with the museum too & very affordable

Went there to see Oppenheimer not only was the film amazing but it was amazing having the second largest screen in the world and also hearing the whir of the 15/70 projector made it feel like i was watching an old hollywood epic like bridge on the river kwai or lawrence of arabia.overall 5 stars would definitely recommend.

Very clean and excellent sound system, state of the art projection and superb sound effects, one has to really enjoy all the science of it, great staff too! Thanks for making a memorable one:)

I've been here four times, and each time I'm amazed by the cinematography and extremely high video definition. The cinema is top notch and the venue is licensed if you'd like to share a wine or beer with your film friend.

Watching movies at Imax is great. Would like to see upgrades though in terms of seating.for example: The seats are very close together making it somewhat uncomfortable and if you get a seat too close to the front you basically wasting the experience. All seats should give a great experience, whereas you don't strain your neck and can view the whole screen.

If you are expecting gold class experience with premium seats, you will be disappointed. I booked premium seats and whilst the screen was great the premium seats were not. Certainly not worth the extra $20. The premium seats are just the back row and they are recliner style with leg rest.you are still squished next to other people in a long row with shared arm rests. Imax, I think its time for an upgrade

Love imax, always make sure I head in there whenever marvel release one of their gems.
Had a day watching fights prior to my imax date and got got carried away on the old proper twelve whiskey and thought watching a movie in 3D right afterwards would be a good idea.

As a former projectionist Ill say, you guys should know better the implications of running 3D AND IMAX presentations together - if you're gonna skimp on your Xenon brightness then bite the bullet and just stay IMAX only because your presentation is suffering for it. It looks like im watching the show in a blurry cave. Ive seen better IMAXes overseas. Step your game up

I am Very much satisfied with the cinema. The screen is that massive that it doesn't feel like I am not watching movie, instead I am in the movie. The facilities, snacks and comfortable seats add glory to the cinema. I would love to visit here successively.

I love IMAX Melbourne. 4th largest screen in the world, killer sound. Always go to see the blockbusters here in 3D, especially since so many movies shoot sections with imax cameras.

One of the largest cinemas in the world, and certainly worth a visit if you want to experience world class films with impeccable visual and audio clarity.

If you like watching the latest movies as we do then IMAX is the only place go. The latest movies on one of the biggest screens in the world.

Been a member of imax for several years.love the amazing screen.staff are also always very friendly.

I'm sure it was amazing when it was first built but now it needs an overhaul. The seating is absurdly cramped. You have as much leg space as an airplane seat, which is firstly uncomfortable, but if anyone wants to get past you you'll be having to stand or otherwise move your legs our of their way. Compared to many Hoyts with recliners it's a huge downgrade. Considering it is still a pandemic and we should keep distance when possible, I regretted going, as every seat was taken and no gaps were left by management.

The screen size is cool (if the movie is made for it) and the speakers are nicely loud. But overall not worth it to me due to discomfort.

Saw Interstellar last Friday & it was awesome seeing on the bigger screen. Sound was really good. Worth coming here when we are allowed too again.

Unquestionably the best cinema in Australia to see films that benefit from a big screen. Seeing Kong vs Godzilla was absolutely breathtaking. The 3D films also look light years ahead of other 3D cinemas, due to the different technology employed. Rounding it out is the most powerful yet crisp Atmos surround sound system I've heard. I now refuse to see action or special effects-laden films anywhere else. One tip though - I prefer sitting in the middle of the center rows than the Premium seats up the back - it fills your field of view much more, whereas I feel Premium is too far back. If they could have Premium seats in a more central area, it'd be perfection. Oh yeah, the seats are a *tiny* bit cramped compared to some of the latest cinemas, but not uncomfortable at all. Overall this is the best cinema I've been to in the world - as a result, tourists should also check it out if there's a cool 3D film showing.

This is one of the best, small to medium sized IMAX theatres. And excellent audio to boot. Nice and friendly staff. Very kid friendly.

If you are a movie lover, this is the place to be. I always drive 30 minutes to there just to have best of the best movie experience. Members get free ticket after 6 movies so money well spent to join the membership! So far I’ve watched at least 30 movies there.

A Cinema experience like no other. 3D movies are next level here and the service is fantastic, bring the kids and enjoy the moment while you emerse yourself into the show
