Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen reviews
82Delicious food, but they mixed up several of our orders. One person didn't get their egg; my soup base was swapped with someone else's at the table, even though the rest of the soup wasn't. So docking a star for that, but would still eat here again.
Original tonkotsu was nice. Definitely get the extra noodles. Ice cream was good too but the serving size isn't worth the price.
Good customer service. Must try the black sesame ice-cream although the portion is small. Overall, I enjoyed the food.
I only do ramen reviews. I had lunch today at Ikkoryu Fukuoka. It was pretty good. I had the mayu tonkotsu. The broth is a bit thinner than most for a tonkotsu. Being a chintan guy myself I didn’t mind the mouthfeel, just be prepared to up the heaviness (it’s a menu option) if that’s your thing. The toppings were pretty standard and executed reasonably well. I think there was too much sugar in the ajitama, maybe from mirrin which pushed it a little to far into the sweet zone. Chashu was tender. My biggest criticism was the tare which just went a little too far for saltiness and which might have relied on commercial umami boosters which have that distinctive msg flavour. The pictures also show the standard tonkotsu and the miso which my family had.out of 5.
There is competition for very good ramen in town but this is big strong very tasty winner of them all
Their yuzu ramen is the best! My all time favourite since I first got introduced to this place in 2016.
The staff there is always friendly and helpful. The umeshu (plum wine) selection they have there is very good as well.
I will definitely keep going back for more yuzu ramen myself. Strongly recommend it to everyone.
The soup was Luke warm and the noodle servings are tiny! So when I asked he lady boss for the free extra noodles on the menu, she refused to serve me and said that they were already in the bowl to start with. I Asked another waiter and they said they don’t actually do the free noodles anymore, they just haven’t taken it off the menu, He said the lady boss just tells the staff to pretend to the customers they are already in the bowl and not serve it
Also the service was very rude, the lady boss was very agressive and just kept ignoring us.
Definitely not worth trying! Shouldn’t have been lazy and just lined up at Hakata or Ippudo.
We love this Japanese restaurant, tucked away down some stairs. We like to come when it's quiet as it is a popular venue and can get quite loud. Food is always delicious and service is great.
Honestly, really good. They hand make practically everything, and you can customize a bowl to your liking including hardness of noodles.
Nice Sake and Whiskey selection for this those that drink.
And for vegetarians they've got a great range too with a soy only soup base. I had a Kilchi special which was particularly awesome.
My favourite ramen in Melbourne! As good as any of the ramen we had in Japan (and better than quite a few!). Yuzu ramen is definitely a fav. Huge serves, so go in hungry
Best ramen I've had in a long time, noodles were perfectly hard, kimchi broth was amazing (I asked for egg on the side). Husband had the extra strong broth which was thick creamy and flavourful. Would come back
Solid name and frontage. Sadly, the spirits dwindled with each step in. I’m struggling to feel the Japanese hospitality. The lights were dim and cold white. The ventilation was off. The ramen is neither punchy nor refined.
Extra rich tonkotsu ramen is sooooo good! Glad the staff recommended it to us! Gyoza is also our fav! Great venue, great service and great food! Will be back!
Ramen is good. Gyoza is.late (staff forgot that I ordered it with my ramen.) Also, gyoza stuck together. I cant separate them. So I just ate it by 2s. Place is cozy though.
Price is a bit premium but definitely worth the money. Went for the black garlic ramen with extra noodles. Thick heavy broth full of flavours. Highly recommended for any ramen lovers.
Definitely the best ramen in Melbourne. Especially the Extra Rich Broth, so unique and tasty. Ideal for cold & rainy Melbourne days. Excellent service and attention to customers.
Great food! Wonderful drinks! Love the fill out menus (makes sure there is no confusion with ramen orders and you can customise it just how you want it)
The classic ramen here is great. I am very accostomed to an Indian pallet with thick curries, and I still enjoyed the soupy texture. We ordered the black garlic and the spicy options on the ramen menu. 1 serving of noodles was more than enough for a full meal. It was pleasant knowing that we could get a second serving for no extra cost.
Nice atmospheric Ramen restaurant. More of a nice place to have a romantic meal than experience the ramen bar experience. Nice selection of izakaya foods and plum wines. Good for groups too and you can customise your ramen and get free ramen refills.
This is the best ramen experience ever. Private room, shoes off at traditional table. The ramen is amazing. You get to tailor EVERY aspect of the dish. Slow cooked pork belly just melts in your mouth. Even if you're undecided about ramen, you need to try this place. Words can't describe it. I'm writing this now, wishing I was back there enjoying the ramen all over again. Well done chief.
