Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen reviews
82 Wow! This was amazing.
Second time I’ve been here, and yet again, blown away by not only the food, but also the ambience and service.
Let’s walk through it:
The food: Literally amazing, and so worth it. I’d highly recommend the miso soup, as it was really flavourful, and definitely the best miso I’ve ever had. For my main, I had the Aburi Chasu Don. It was amazing, and only $18! We also shared some Renkon chips. These weren’t my style of food, but my friend enjoyed them, so that’s a win:).
Additionally, the ambience was also amazing. The music was fantastic, the glass to see into the kitchen was exciting, and the artwork scattered throughout the restaurant was also great.
Finally, the service was fantastic. It was a little slow at times, but with the high quality food to make up for it, and the aforementioned ambience to keep us distracted, it was fine. The server was especially helpful in providing the music that was being played, which we both loved, so props to them! If there was only one downside, me and my friend were (unintentionally) misgendered, but that’s fine, as I’m sure they didn’t know ^-^
All in all, this is genuinely now my favourite place to come to, and I will certainly be back. I cannot recommend this gem enough!
If you've lived in Japan you'll likely be disappointed with the Ramen here - I had the regular Tonkotsu with all the 'normal' choices offered, broth wasn't on par with what you'd expect in Japan, Konbu was over strong flavour, not my experience and preference. The Restaurant has a fancy veneer but is pretty basic. Their telephone manners are the opposite of Japanese service standards - piss poor. Can't recommend unless you're new to Japanese food and it may give you an idea of what to expect in Japan. I'll search elsewhere in Melbourne for authentic Japanese Ramen. (4 hours after my visit, I still have an unpleasant oily aftertaste - not good).
I had Yuzu ramen. That was amazing. Love the texture of noodle. Definitely will come back and try the vegan ramen.
It’s a cozy ramen place, very intimate. Good for dates and catch up.
I ordered the spicy ramen, and yes it was spicy that I couldn’t get enough of it.
Everyone was attentive, which was great.

The black garlic spicy noodles are very rich and have a strong flavor of garlic and onion (I ordered a rich soup base), but people who don’t like strong flavors may find it too strong!
Spicy ramen, 1.2 degrees spiciness, I think people who are not into spicy food will find it too spicy! But its spicy is very delicious!
My friends felt it was a bit salty after eating!
The dumplings are also delicious, crispy and charred when fried.
Overall, I feel pretty good! I like strong ramen so I like it!
Ramen was very farmhouse and delicious. The wetress man who explained the ramen to me smelled like alcohol and it was very unpleasant. He is friendly and funny, but the smell of alcohol was disappointing.
1/3 of pork chops are pure "fat",
The rest is dry
Disappointing meal, wish it was more even
I find it harder and harder to comprehend why this ramen shop is so expensive. Ramen on its own without the egg is 21-22 dollars. On top of that you need to add an egg for 3 dollars and bamboo shoots for 3 dollars As well. Which are all included at most other ramen places?
The owner was very rude! I cancelled the 1 scoop of ice cream since they serve it late and they said your not allowed to cancel what you ordered and she said it in a very rude manner! Do not go to this restaurant it's a bad customer service from the owner herself.
Had the miso ramen and it was amazing. Love that you mark down what you want on the menu. Service was wonderful and friendly. Ill be back many times:)
Ramen was delicious. I enjoyed personalising my ramen by choosing exactly what I wanted from the soup to the noodles.the price was responsible for the ramen, until you have to add on the extra egg and sea weed. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere I felt was lacking, it was a bit messy. But the ramen was really good. I highly recommend checking this ramen place out.
Food was quick and service really friendly! Love the atmosphere too!
The only thing, a bit weird that in order to get an egg on your ramen you’ve got to add it as an extra.
Service is fine. But how can you justify a bowl or very 'normal' Raman $23.5? And it's really really really common in taste. Only tourists would come here, hard to make local come back again, too many other much better choices out there.
This is my favourite ramen in the CBD. The staff are friendly, the place is clean and tidy, a nice casual atmosphere with good music, and the food is of excellent quality! You can "build your own" ramen by filling out the the menu at your table, or order off a separate set menu - I recommend the Kimchi Tonkotsu ramen and Asahi Black!
Friendly staff, but disappointing ramen. Broth lacked flavour and pork had a fair bit of fat on it
Yum yum yum I loved it all! Totally worth the long wait. Our waitress was so adorable and friendly too ️ thank you
Amazing tonkotsu ramen. Never had yuzu ramen before and was not disappointed. Little expensive for ramen shops in Melbourne but you pay for quality. Will definitely be coming back.
I've been hanging out for authentic ramen since a trip to Japan and was delighted to find it here. You walk downstairs below street level to find a smart no-frills dining room. The magic is the rich bone broth soup, with fully customisable ramen. Choose oil, flavour level, noodle type, extras like seaweed and fungus. Simple, efficient and most importantly, delicious.
You can choose what level you want on the broth, oil, soft or hard noodle.egg is lil sweet, and thin noodles is classic fukuoka style
chashu don is sweet and good taste.ice cream is rich matcha flavor, very nice
friendly staff
Quite a poor experience. Did not get the supposedly free noodles that were advertised even though I specifically asked for it. The actual portion was tiny. Paid 23 dollars for a bowl of noodles I finished in 3 goes along with the toppings and meat. In terms of the actual food itself, the Miso Tonkotsu soup tastes too weird and has a very strong soy sauce flavour (I ticked “normal” for soy sauce). With regards to the service, the waitress was very impatient and seemed like she did not want to spend an extra second talking to us. She Overall I would not recommend it. Money can be spent better somewhere else!
