Absolutely terrible. Order an item at the store for home delivery. Order gets cancelled a couple of days later with no explanation. I call them (on hold for 15 minutes) to be told its out of stock, even though it is in stock on their website. Operator reorders the item for deliver. I get an email the next day saying its ready for pick up at the store and not being delivered. Been waiting on the phone for 20 minutes to talk with someone. Their customer service is terrible.

Been a fan, until I opted to go buy ikea kitchen. I have to drive so many items because out of stock items, spare part missing etc. And Today I drove all the way 30kms to get the spare parts that were missed as part of package and they say they don't have any. What I am supposed to do when you have sold me a item with missing parts.

I like the furniture but they couldn’t fulfill assembly by the contracted date and told me that getting my furniture assembled “is a privilege”.

One that I need to pay for…

I am not a big fan of IKEA but have gone to get wardrobe as not getting one with sliding door anywhere else. Ethan in Ikea Richmond was so helpful as he explain everything in detail and helped me placing the order. Thanks Ethan

I've been to this Ikea several times but i must say in the upper level where you buy smaller items the customer service is pretty bad. I needed to quickly go in and get a pegboard so i wouldn't miss my train but there were 2 workers just kneeling down loading the exact same shelf talking (and mind you at the time they were the only workers in the 'smaller items' area) i eventually found what i was looking for no thanks to those workers

I ordered a the Brimnes Day Bed from IKEA last Thursday online and the parts are separated into three separate boxes labelled 1,2 and 3 but instead they gave 1,3 and 3. We only realised while we were attempting to build this bed as we thought maybe they had mislabeled the boxes but the contents were correct but we were wrong.
I called customer service the next day as it was almost midnight and told the person on the line regarding the situation and stressed how urgently I needed box 2 as my mother was flying in the same day and there was no space for 1 person in the apartment to sleep as we had just moved into the apartment the night before.
She said the only way they could help is for them to deliver the correct box the next day and I asked her if as a compensation that they could arrange an assembly of the bed because of how inconvenient this situation is and she said that she was already helping me by arranging the delivery and I would have to pay an extra $160 for the assembly of the bed or otherwise I could arrange an Airtasker to do it for me - for which I would have to pay out of my own pocket of course.
We went back and forth on how this situation could be rectified as this was quite clearly their mistake and I am the one who is inconvenienced by it but ultimately it led to nowhere.
Moreover, I asked if they could arrange for someone to pick out and pick up the incorrect parts as they were all taken out of the boxes as we were trying to build it a and she said that I have to "figure it out on your own" and leave the parts out so that the person dropping off the correct box can take the incorrect parts away.
I always held IKEA in high regards as I have been a frequent customer but after this experience I am extremely disappointed by the way this was handled as I now have to wait from any time between 9am-3pm tomorrow for the correct box to arrive and of course assemble it before bed time so that we can sleep on it and of course spend all night tonight picking out the incorrect parts so that they can pick it up tomorrow.
Truly awful experience and I really hope no one has to go through an experience similar to mine.

Hadn't been to IKEA for a long time. I enjoyed the experience although a lot of people were there too. The checkout staff were so patient as my teen paid for their own items.

The store is fine but…
The baby change room door can’t be locked while you change your baby. My baby is bottle fed and I there isn’t a microwave to heat a bottle. The staff offered me a cup to put water in but they are to small for any brand bottle. I had to use the hot water in the coffee machine and hope my baby doesn’t get sick.

DO NOT BUY MATTRESSES OR BED FRAMES! CHECK FOR MOULDING! If I could give them a zero star I would, but need to rate them 1 star to post this review. Spoke to customer service both in store and online and told them about the moulding on bed frame and mattress and was told both times to bring mattress in for assessment. Long story short, after their “assessment”, we were told it’s not their problem. Didn’t get a credit, refund or an offer to dispose of the mattress. Regardless of getting a refund or not, their failure to acknowledge their products caused moulding is disappointing. It poses as a severe health risk, luckily we found it early. For the money and peace of mind, go somewhere else for beds and mattresses - it’s safer.

One of the best home stores in Melbourne located close to the city. Beautifully designed with plenty to discover and purchase.

Click and collect experience is a joke. Ordered many days ago and products still not ready for collection, something that should take a few minutes

A place to look at your home with IKEA'S eye. Great ideas to furnish, redecorate and construct your most practical kitchens and bedrooms. Great place to visit. A canteen to have good snack or a swedish breakfast. Nice and tasty.

It's your typical IKEA store. However there's a clear issue with the path between the store and the parking. This path is uncovered and not very legible which makes it tricky on rainy or windy days. You end up having your items wet! Stupid design!

IKEA Richmond has the worst customer service in Australia!
We did renovation for our home this winter, I had more than 5 transactions with IKEA and mostly online. When the renovation finished, I have a small item did not use, so I went IKEA and thought to get refund and buy some plants. When I went the return counter, a woman staff insisted that I should have a receipt, after I showed her the transactions one by one on my phone, she said she can’t give me refund because I opened the box which I did not. Finally, I got the refund card, something unbelievable happened. She shouted at me, “ next time, bring your receipt! Enough is enough! ” I could not believe, this would happen in Australia and I. IKEA!
I have been a IKEA customer for more than 25 years (Oversea and in Australia) IKEA was my favourite brand, but NO more after I was treated so poorly!
Same story at the same day happened to me in Collingwood Bunnings, their customer service is absolutely amazing, because the builder bought on my behalf, I did not have the receipt, Bunnings even did not ask me for a receipt, they focused on solving the problem for me.

I visited with my friends and tried the veggie hotdog that was only for $1.50 which was amazing the taste was similar to real meat and we walked around ikea for a bit and loved the place, I would definitely go there again.

The cafeteria is the best part, the vege meat balls are actually delicious. That, and the huge range of products set out in typical Ikea fashion of show rooms. They have some random small knick knacks at a decent price, overall they're not cheap, but you're likely to find something you'll love and have design inspiration for days.

You book through IKEA to get your furniture put together but they outsource to Install2u even though you booked through IKEA. You cannot contact Install2U when they don't turn up and they don't run up. Their phone numbers are dead. And when you ring IKEA to complain they can't contact them either. What professional company would use such hopeless installers? There are 61 other one start reviews for this hopeless service Shame on your IKEA for inflicting them on their customers. How totally unprofessional

If you know what you want to buy, click and collect is the way to go. Their process is really easy, park your car and follow signs to click and collect. They have all your items on a trolley ready to go, and even validate your parking (meaning you don’t have to pay for the short time you’re there as Richmond parking requires payment). Super quick and easy!
