Hydrant Food Hall reviews
70Super food, creative menu. I need to go back to try more. Coffee great in a fantastic old building
Hydrant is fantastic and will be definitely returning when next in town. Our table ordered four different dishes and all were superb. The quality and presentation of each dish was top notch. Another fine example of why the Ballarat food scene is so good.
Fantastic food and great service. Loved the atmosphere, not too loud even with a full house.
Had me dancing in my seat, and I don't even dance
Dropped in a several times, for a short black espresso, or cappuccino, and the staff are friendly, and polite, the service excellent and the coffee tastes great. **Also, just as I experienced in Italy, Hydrant serves water with coffee; appreciated **The cafe layout is attractive and clean. The place has a nice feel about it. Worth a visit.
Awesome food and service - just had the BEST gnocchi since eating it in Rome years ago. Fabulous coffee - great place to eat in Ballarat! Food is incredible, can't wait to go back soon!
The waffle Benedict is superb! The egg is perfectly runny, the hollandaise and pulled pork really brought everything together.and the crackling literally tops the dish. We also had the gnocchi which was generous in its serving and heavy with flavors. It was cooked very well and good combination but a bit too oily. Overall we definitely will be coming back again to try their other dishes!
Combination of overpriced and terrible food. Please taste your acai bowl, the mint 'chips' were bitter and the avacado dominated the taste. Very lacklustre on all counts, especially when you pay $20. The bread was stale (bring your steak knife from home) and would not recommend the ban mhi either, unless you want to pay $23 for bread.
Very disappointed as this place has such good reviews: (
The reliability of service varies as does the quality of the food. But the atmosphere is great. A cafe I visit regularly.
Went in for a coffee with 2 friends and I was told when we sat down that there was a 45m time limit. No worries at all, completely understand with Covid and limited seating that you have to make money and have a quick turn around. Sat down, ordered coffee, finished the last sip of my coffee as the waiter took the cups. He returned not 30 seconds later as we were in the middle of conversation and asked us to pay our bill and said we needed to leave in the next few minutes as we were only allowed 20m at our table. Apparently this was because we didn't order food, but we could have another 20m if we ordered another coffee. Although the coffee was great I wouldn't go back after this experience. There was no mention of a 20m table, the signs on the wall also said 45m table. Again, while I understand the problem with covid restrictions, had the waiter let us know we only had 20m there would have been no problem, we would have gone somewhere else and avoided this unpleasant experience.
