Hotham Alpine Resort

Had everyone pre-book with the vision of skiing, tobagganing and shopping.opening of ski season was then postponed. So then the shops weren't open, people got fined for tobogganing on what little snow was there. Cafes weren't open, and even the supermarket was shut! Lots of people around with kids on school holidays with nothing available for people to do. Hotham and DP were happy to take bookings but then to have everything you advertised shut is very poor!

Just love this mountain and ski resort! With the last couple of years providing great snow conditions extending to late spring we have enjoyed the great runs this mountain has to offer for longer and can’t wait for the next season to kick off!

Best time to visit between June end to mid Aug.
Fun place for the every level of skiers.

Recoomdation is to plan to reach early to this place. Late driving is not recommended.

Great location. But all shut up for summer. Hard to find a me coffee or cake. ONE place open on the whole ol left mountain. REALLY POOR

Best place to go on a snow vacation. Much bigger than other places in Victoria. Suits all skill level skiers. Beautiful picturesque scenery. Great snow village with ambulance, medical center and police station. Free bus to travel with in the village. It's about 5hr drive from Melbourne, well worth the time and money. I recommend to everyone.

Ski lessons are very good and reasonable price. If the group is large, they split it into multiple subgroups. I had 2 lessons and each lesson had about 5 people.

The terrain is amazingly beautiful in Winter.the drive up the mountain is scenic and breathtaking! Would do the trip again without a doubt. A definite must-see!

Bring your own food for dinner. Restaurants and bars are either too crowded or shut by 6pm. Great place otherwise

In an effort to try and save money, we stayed in dinner plain and someone would drop off the skiers for the day to save on the parking fee. 1 month later received 2 infringement notices for
"Stopping - contrary to a no stopping sign". $165 each.
The week costs enough, now this. Will not be back

Chains usually required for your car.

For new drivers take the road slow and you'll be fine. Many stopping areas to apply chains, chain service available (Hoys are great).

Great runs on mountain, I have not tried off piste yet though the runs are fabulous.

Best ski place in victoria! Accommodation is really nice n not many people so can enjoy skiing or Snowboarding

Steepest average terrain of the 4 main Australian ski resorts but also the worst snow conditions and the closest to Melbourne. Also you’ll need to carry snow chains in winter because Victorians don’t know how to drive. Great views. Short runs, long traverses.

Great Mountain to ski, board or cross country etc. Resort is well run with good staff. Making improvements every season.

Great mountain with some really enjoyable runs and some awesome views, plenty to do and places to visit off the slopes. Nice being able to ski out of accom and straight down the first run of the day because of the resort dwelling at the top of the mountain
