Hotham Alpine Resort reviews
74Went during a time inner Melbourne was unable to. This made it very easy to get on lifts and slopes. All facilities were really pretty good only thing I think could be inproved on is signage down different runs as some were reasonably hard to follow. If you are with someone the app and the group function is a must!
Friendly helpful staff. An amazing resort to visit in the winter. Snowboarding or skiing there are some really good slopes for all age ranges.
Best riding in Aus easily for the combo of snow quality, quantity, and intermediate-advanced terrain, without even factoring the additional terrain just outside the resort boundaries.
Even on the busiest Saturdays, if you just take the singles queue you'll wait very little time to be on the chair.
Great community of kind people who just love riding/skiing and the mountains.
Great resort with some good ski slopes.
Cafes and restaurants seemed to lack capacity for the number of visitors.
Some of the longest and steepest runs in VIC. The resort is on a ridge with all the skiing down and away. Well suited to intermediate and advanced skiers.
So nice to be back in the mountains. Mt Hotham staff were so friendly, so willing to change booking etc with covid lock down. Great snow too!
Great place to ski, take lessons and also if you want to see snow and play with family and friends on a toboggan.
Wonderful Teaching Staff, good views and fun runs. Definitely will go again. Food is. About expensive at the cafè's though.
It was awesome but we might be a little too early for the season as not many lifts are opened before the second week of July. Overall good experience.
I think August might be the best month as there are more snowfall as per historical data during August.
Check my amazing photos! We came here for the school holidays last week. The gorgeous views covering with snow impressed me deeply! I booked my two kids (6 and 8 years old) for the private lessons in Big D for four days. We were in a large group around 5 families. Our coach Kris and Ben were very nice and with lots of patience. My kids were both having fun and learned a lot about ski. We hope to come back again during next spring holidays! I have been to Mt Baw Baw, Mt Buller and Lake Mountain before, Mt Hotham is definitely the best.
I don't recommend it for family and kids. MT Buller is much better for family and kids. The lift tickets system m at Mount hotham is a joke. They didn't let us get tickets because is only for skiers. Funny think is the lifts where empty, si don't understand why. I recommend Mount Hotham if you going with friends.
Had a fabulous week worry family and friends. Staff at Hotham are doing well work new Covid changes teething hard to keep everything rolling along
Love tone there. Not much crowded as school holidays still to start. Nice cafe, Bar and food, good customer service and wonderful experience of ski.
Love this place
Mt Hotham is famous during winter, but you need to visit there during off season like in the Easter as we did to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Australian Alps without snow.
Our drive from harietville to Melbourne via Dinner Plain and Omeo was an amazingly memorable travel. Section up to Mt Hotham was not only scenic also somewhat fearful due to the zigzag road with steep road edges.
Only 4 degrees and too early for snow but nice to look over the beautiful Alpine Resorts at Hotham and the accommodation at Dinner Plains!
Stunning location but no shops or cafes open on the 3rd January. Even though it's a winter resort, it's summer effort disappointed.
Beautiful place. Refreshing and natural beauty. Lacks a good coffee shop though. I was there in off-peak season, that can be the reason for poor food options
Mt Hotham was great. Easy to buy tickets online.little process to get them but that is okay. Had them so when we arrived - we could go straight to the lifts. Parking was good - but get there early to get a good spot. Favourite parts of the mountain are Blue Ribbon - heaps of fun was had off this chair. Off Gotcha - enjoy the Ridge and Face. Hotham Central was great - coffee and hot chocolates after a big day were the best.
Rest stop in our journey. Breathtaking views and a touch of sadness seeing the damage caused by the bushfires. Regeneration taking place in some areas was awesome.
Despite the ongoing Covid pandemic our daytrip up to Hotham was refreshing and relaxing. No one else to deal with made it feel like we had the mountain to ourselves in the middle of winter. Despite very little open, those that chose to remain open made us feel welcomed into their business.
Lunch at the Genny was filling & satisfying and then the Hot Chocolate at the Dinner Plain Centre was fantastic!
