Hearns Hobbies reviews
70Veteran hobby shop with a deminishing range of model railways. A bit pricey but always worth a poke around
All the negative reviews are right. No service at all. Not sure how my real name would make a difference.
An institution! They have a good range of products from RC, to model kits (aircraft, armory, ships, cars, Gundam, etc) as well as trains and paints and tools. Includes kites, rockets and unusual construction kits. A bit hidden away but worth a fossick around. And the staff are willing to offer useful advice. Not the cheapest around but where else can you get the extra glue when you run out and can't wait? Worth supporting to ensure they remain an institution.
A good hobby store with a great range of product. Some times can find some rare models. However the products are somewhat over priced. 15-40% higher than average.
Most of stuff are friendly and helpful. They are experienced and easy to talk to.
(Don’t know why one of the stuff like to stare at the customers like they did something bad, that makes people feel uncomfortable. )
Overall, It’s a shop every modeler should have a look, highly recommend!
Great range of build it kits for all kinds of interests. Big section for model train sets. Not low prices but top quality. Good place for children of all ages.:)
Heaps of shelves full of lots of different hobby stuff:) prices were surprisingly decent compared to what we have paid elsewhere:)
Waited there with armful of items no service, no interest. Owner/manager even looked right at me and didn't bother attending to me. Oh well, I left the items and walked out.
EDIT: Dear Owner/manager - I never mentioned which date this occurred on. So I do wonder how/if at all you checked footage! I will never go back in your store.
First up, this is based on OO model trains only.
Some staff quite knowledgeable others not so much but always seem to try to help. Decent range but prices are a bit more than others on many things - guess they have to pay the big city rents:) A must visit for anyone interested in model railways that lives in the Melbourne region.
A handy little place to get some hobby kit when in town. I've been an irregular customer for many years and so have had staff who are a bit indifferent over the time, but most have been really very nice and helpful. Prices are sometimes better, sometimes worse than the other hobby stores in town, so if you want to save a few bucks, do your homework first!
Fantastic labyrinthine space that is a wonder to browse. Staff have been very helpful with any questions I had about paint types and techniques. My only complaint is that they can be slow to restock some paint lines, which may be in part because their selection is tailored towards military diorama, RC, and mecha - where as I am painting for tabletop play.
Edit: Thanks for responding! I'll be sure to do that
