Hawthorn East Medical & Aesthetic Clinic HEMAC

One of the few bulk billing GPs in the area. I've been visiting for years, very happy with the service. However recently it has become difficult to get an appointment and there has been high staff turnover.

This’s my third time visiting the clinic. My skin has improved a lot. It’s smoother, brighter and clearer. Also, the receptionist is super friendly. Highly recommend the clinic.

Unfortunately, the reception staff was pretty incompetent and did not want to correct their mistakes when brought up. They denied receiving my Care Plan and they eventually ended up finding it in their inbox almost an hour later and a few calls to my GP. They also gave me an invoice with a wrong item number which wasn't accepted by my insurance. When I brought this up requesting them to correct it, they were so sure that they have given me the right one. Finally managed to get it corrected a day later after requesting my GP to call them directly.

On a positive note though, the dietician was really nice!

Have been attending the clinic over the last few months and i would highly recommend this practice. Very professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Hong Hui and reception staff are just lovely.

I recently needed help in a hurry. HEMAC were fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble, and Doctor Jason and the reception staff were quick and efficient with their help and attention. Thank you HEMAC. Appreciated.

This clinic is anchored by a good experienced doctor, Dr Li Wan, and has an attached Melbourne Pathology service which makes it convenient. The reception can be very friendly and helpful to a bit curt & blunt, depending on who is at the front desk.

I have switched to this clinic two months ago. During the two month service with HEMAC. I am really impressed with the service they provided. I need to say heaps thank you to Dr Jason Xu. He has been really really helpful with my whole family. My three year old has problem with his nose since birth. By seeing so many GPs, they haven’t solved the problem. However the first time we saw Jason, he solved the problem straight away. His experience impressed me a lot. Can’t express my thank in words. High recommend. I would give them 100 stars. ️

Today’s tele consult with Dr Xu was fantastic. Very easy, super convenient, and no different from visiting in person given my symptoms could be explained over the phone. All my needs were met today.

I have been going to HEMAC for some time now because it’s a bulk billing clinic. I’ve seen a range of Doctors here (whoever’s available) and although I haven’t always had the best experience it’s a suitable clinic for your general health.

We have found all the staff incredibly caring and professional and can highly recommend this practice to anyone. I have also used the allied health services too it has all your needs in one place including blood tests.

Great doctors, I find they give great advice and treatment plans but horrible time management. I've called before multiple appointments to check if they are running on time, I am told they are and have waited up to 1 hour past my appointment time. Usually half an hour so late on average. Do not go here if you're time poor or on a schedule.

Great staff, very knowledgeable and offered up various options to suit my needs. Did not feel pressured into anything. Already got my next appointment booked in.

I used to like this clinic until my regular GP left.
There’s always a massive wait. The GP I’ve seen the last few times is not personable and I felt uncomfortable speaking with her.
The reception staff are also quite short and rude.
I’ll definitely be going to a different clinic as it seems very evident they don’t care to help or assist their patients.

The Aesthetic clinic is great, very professional and friendly. I’ve been visiting Sherrie for many years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. She is honest, thorough and again extremely professional. Highly recommend!

The wait times are ridiculous. Without fail you are made to wait 30-40 minutes past your scheduled appointment time every time.

Reception staff needs better time management. Much better.

I rang to check if there is delay, they said no. 5minutes later, upon arrival they told me to wait for 30min.

I hope you appreciate other people's time! It's not a joke.

Dr Li Wan is great. Only because of him I come here although the waiting time is terrible. Always have to wait at least 1 hour to see docto. Dont know is this only with Dr Li Wan or applies in case of other doctors as well

The aesthetic clinic was really good. Dr Sherrie is thorough and patient with her analysis and takes the time to explain things clearly. Would recommend this practice for your skin care needs.

I went to see Dr. Mei Xiao (GP) and she was amazing! She was thorough, attentive and compassionate. Couldn't have asked for better! The staff were polite and helpful and it has a large, clean waiting area with plenty of seating. Yes, I did have to wait a while to be seen (I think about 45 mins or so), but I just put it down to the medical centre being a bulk billing one. I also made sure I cleared my schedule for that day knowing there would be wait.

Professional, competent, compassionate and fantastic Doctors. Dr. I. Hornstien is the most wonderful Doctor I've been lucky enough to have help me with my appointments. If give 100 stars if I could!
