Hamid Zapatero

Hamid is my go to guy for all of my shoes. I first met him some time ago when I needed my tuxedo shoes repaired and cleaned. Despite the extensive alcohol stains left there for months he somehow restored them to their original shine.

Now anything I need from repairs, stain removal and re-soling I take to Hamid. Especially my most prized footwear. He’s never let me down and always has gone above and beyond to help me at short notice when I need them urgently.

I have reccomended him to all my friends. Truly a master.

Hamid was so helpful. Taking in an almost new shoe with a broken zipper, I thought that the shoe might be beyond repair. Hamid took one look at it, went to his work bench and repaired the shoe in under 30 seconds - free of charge. What a great experience. Thank you.

Hamid was very knowledgeable and helpful. He custom made a new leather band for my watch and replaced it.

My Husband Shane & I have been to Hamid a few times in the last month. First he put new heels on a pair of suede boots and waterproofed them for me. We then took in another pair of boots and put a new heel on them. His knowledge of shoes and leather is amazing and he is so helpful. My husband then asked about a leather briefcase to be cleaned and he also did an exceptional job with that. Hamid does Jobs in a timely manner and I would highly recommend him and will definitely take all my shoes to him.

I brought in a pair of boots where I wasn't satisfied with the colour of the soles. Instead of opting to replace a perfectly good sole, Hamid presented me with an option to dye & recolour the sole which was much more affordable.

I received my boots back a week later and they look immeasurably better with Hamid's recolour.

Hamid also provided me with great advice on shoe & leather care.

Hamid is truly deserving of the title 'The Master Cobbler'.

Hamid is a true master of his craft. What a gift it is to meet someone who has a genuine passion for their work. Plus, Hamid is an interesting, interested, knowledgeable & kind man. Hamid has repaired strappy heels I thought were beyond repair, ankle boots that now look brand new, and knee high ankle boots that were too tight around my calves, together with a pair of Arizona Birkenstocks. I’m just disappointed I didn’t know about Hamid sooner!

I took in two pairs - one for heel replacement, the other for widening. Both repairs/modifications gave new life to tired shoes. The quality of the craftsman ship means that one pair looks brand new (they were quite dodgy and worn before). Hamid, his wife, and their two cats, have created a lovely and warm environment with a professional service that I would highly recommend. They are also lovely people who care about their craft and customers.

Hamid has repaired and rejuvenated 4 bags and 1 wallet for me. He does an absolutely brilliant job getting these looking fabulous again. These were Gucci, Chanel, Bvlgari and Gianfranco Ferre items. I highly recommend him.

I went to so many alteration places to fix a vintage bag I owned and was turned away every time. Hamid helped with no problems. He sewed the broken seams, replaced the zipper and maintained the original state of my bag. I am very appreciate and could not recommend his services enough.

Hamid has been our go-to footwear repair & maintenance person for about 10 years now. First at South Yarra and, now, at Malvern. We've also moved house in that time, but have followed Hamid to his new premises because we know just how great his skills are are, and how much we value the workmanship and dedication he brings to bear on each job, no matter how small or large. In the most recent instance, Hamid repaired the stiletto heels of my wife's favourite pair of patent Ferragamo's. A win/win: I save about $1,000 and my wife is thrilled. I could not recommend Hamid's services more! I was looking for quality and a careful hand, a cobbler in whose work I could trust. Hamid's work repairing the heels of my prized vintage Doc Martens was done with great skill and attention to detail. They have been given new life and I am sure will last a long, long time before I will need to get them repaired again.
