Half Moon reviews
71We had a fantastic function last week at Half Moon in the Molina room. Samantha managed the booking professionally and was very attentive, and Anthony really looked after us on the night. The various room options, meal and drink packages made the organising easy for me. Highly recommend for your next function.
Haven't been to halfmoon in some time great to see they are keeping up with the great Parma's and ice cold beer still.
I had my birthday dinner there on Monday with 9 of us and two of the waitstaff in particular treated us like royalty (I hope they know who they are).
They originally put us on two tables but when I asked to be on one they made an exception without any hesitation and the whole experience made me feel extremely special.
Food was delicious (70% of our group had a parma and they all raved about it) and the 0% beer was the best beer my stepdad has tried yet so far.
We were also particularly impressed they could remember everyone's order and got it all right without having to write anything down.
10 / 10 would come here again and recommend to others in the area.
Super aesthetic and vibrant modern pub at the heart of Brighton
Love their cozy ambiance and warm hospitality with delicious menu and beautiful cocktails.
Cant wait to be back exploring rest of their amazing dishes
Sunday roast
Roast duck breast
Grilled skull island prawn
Burrata
Coconut and chocolate creameaux
Brookies apple and cherry crumble
Terribly ill-mannered staff, from the moment of arrival the staff members were rude and ignorant. Many times the waiters were condescending for no apparent reason. The manager was purposefully aggressive and i was ignored several times when waiting at the entrance. Please try improving this next time as this was extremely disappointing and ruined a good night out.
Went in for Dinner on Friday Night, the place was very full with a wonderful local pub feel. We dined in the restaurant. Food was lovely, we had the prawns, meatballs and croquettes to start, followed by Steak, swordfish and sides of iceberg and blue cheese dressing and chilli and garlic broccolini. Our waiter gave us great recommendations on the wine with him pairing my steak with a lovely glass of GSM and my wife with a beautiful Chardonnay from Mornington Peninsula. He also let us know that the menu is getting a rehaul soon. So looking forward to what's coming. Cant wait to go back.
We were so fortunate to have booked the Central Room at Half Moon for a recent family function. The whole planning process was seamless, Sammi (the Events Manager) customised the entire menu to suit (and none of it was any trouble), she even sourced specific wine and spirits for the bar. The food was amazing, we had a lot of family join from interstate and they were all so impressed with the menu and service. The space was large yet intimate for our event. Our guests could freely mingle and also be seated for our long lunch. It was such a special day. We can’t recommend the venue enough.
This place does not know it’s a**e hole from it’s ear hole. The website says it has a bar menu and an a Le carte menu for the ‘Dining Area’. We get there and they have no idea there is a second menu. We also booked a table for lunch 2: 45pm, the only time available. When we get there they advise us the kitchen shuts in 15 minutes and we need to hurry and order. Don’t take bookings 15 minutes before the kitchen closes! It’s not rocket science.
Had dinner here on the weekend and got talking with the manager.
He said if I was as impressed by the food as I said I was, I should post a review.so I will.
I'm from the CBD and came down with the wife for a walk along Brighton beach. We just discovered this place on the way home (it's opposite the station).
A really cool, funky reno has occurred and the food is top notch. It's not going to win any Michelin stars, but it's good, honest food that hit the spot after a long beach walk.the beer they serve there in COLD glasses went down a treat as well.

What a beautiful little Gem this pub is…
Really beautiful fit out, light bright and sophisticated venue. Much nicer than most in the area. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was better than alot of restaurants I've ever eaten at
Highly recommend
A very very ordinary pub food! Girls at our tabled said McDonalds burgers are much much nicer, and half the price!
After many attempts we were at last able to hold the celebration for my 50th in the delightful Henry Room at Half Moon Brighton. Since my initial inquiry 11 months ago through to the wonderful event, Samantha was a tower of strength and positivity, constantly introducing new ideas and cheering me on to the certainty that the party would go ahead. All guests raved about the room, the balcony, the food and the friendly helpful staff. Anthony was spectacular and made sure the night was everything I could have hoped for and more!
Lovely space, great place for a beer. Unfortunately food was really disappointing and expensive for what we received. Main pasta was tiny and tasteless. Beer is good though ;)
Was excited to come back here as it was great last time but last night was a huge let down. My fish took nearly an hour to arrive and was raw. And no I didn't order sushi. My friends main didn't arrive until I had nearly finished mine. Mega disappointed
Interesting.
Great location
Good service
The problem is the food is very hit and miss.i understand it's covid and hard to get chefs but they should change the menu when it works out at $100 per head.
Swordfish and oysters are horrible.
Tuna tartar was Interesting but not in a good way.
The Duck and pork belly mains are great.
Highly recommended.
Meatballs are good especially with the toast
Steak is good but a requested medium comes half rare and half medium.
Cold beer, good cocktails and good choice of non-alcoholic.
Chips are OK. Garlic bread is "interesting "
The dining room is great.
It isn't too noisy compared to the front area's.
In short 3 of 5 gives the food and price.
Fantastic pub with friendly staff. Order at bar or by QR code at your table. Very good food. Visited with my grandson and we were both made to feel very welcome.
This place has become our regular.the staff here are always so accommodating.to the point of awesome! Received a garlic bread that wasn't the best but they replaced it with a beverage and then brought out a new garlic bread that was terrific! I think the original just wasn't cooked properly bit of an oversight! Highly recommend this joint
Me and my wife have been here a few times, great pub meals at reasonable prices.
And also the beer on Tap is excellent
Staff very accommodating sat outside on a Glorious day for our meal.
Relaxing and Sociable Place To chat to other.
Came for a drink. As soon as I walked to the bar I wasn’t allowed to order. Was told I was only allowed to order through there QR system. Only to see people ordering shots at the bar. Wasn’t giving that option. One of the bar staff was rude with attitude. Company needs to look at the people who work there.
Great location for a few drinks with friends or a nice meal. Was very crowded on a Saturday night and cold if you are seated in outside courtyard, so take a jacket. QR code ordering and pay as you go makes for easy and efficient service. Inside dinning has gorgeous open fire. Reasonable prices and friendly staff.
