Highly overpriced and extremely slow with delivery of our food. Good service by our waiter

First time for visiting this pub having walked past it many times. Met a friend for a drink and found it very pleasant. Great Happy Hour prices and nice chips. They have some interesting bistro deals which I am tempted to try one night soon.

We recently had our engagement party in the Henry room upstairs and it was such a great night thanks to the whole Half Moon crew. The renovations and new carpets were just completed and gave the room a fantastic new, chic vibe which set the tone for a fantastic evening. Highly recommend their venue spaces!

The staff were amazing and the food was delicious. They you for making the birthdays extra special.

I must confess to a rather unfortunate dining experience. The steak, if one could even call it that, was a dismal affair, reminiscent of shoe leather. It seems the chef's culinary talents were as neglected as the bartender's hospitality.

Speaking of which, the bartender's demeanor left much to be desired, with a hint of passive-aggressiveness that marred our evening. Considering we were the sole patrons, overwork could not have been his excuse.

In summary, the meal was subpar, and the service left us disheartened. It may be wise to explore other establishments for a more satisfactory repast.

Our Scicluna's team party at Half Moon last night was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. A big thanks to the staff for helping us plan and execute the perfect night! We'll definitely be returning.

My son just had his 21st Birthday in the Henry Room upstairs, we had 130 guests and the night ran very smoothly, the staff were amazing, the food was fantastic and the event organiser, Samantha was very helpful and available to discuss all my needs. I would definitely consider HalfMoon for my other functions and can not thank them enough for helping my son “have the best night ever “

Great pub! They've got the best selection of beers on tap & really yummy food. The staff are fricking amazing.always happy, smiling & having a joke with us. Nothing is ever too much trouble & they ALWAYS go out of their way to make sure you're happy. Seriously a great crew.whoever does the training there needs a medal, I've watched the team deal with annoying/drunk customers with curtesy and charm. Well done folks - keep up the great atmosphere & fun times! Love your work!

We came to try steak night which is a new foray for the venue. At $25 it’s very reasonable though you will need to add $3 for a sauce. I personally wouldn’t bother with the red wine jus as it was very thin though my husbands choice of peppercorn fared better. The steak is well cooked and the chips are delicious (loaded with salt and by the taste of them double fried). The interior of the dining room where we were seated is stunning and the bar area we walked through to enter also had a fantastic atmosphere. Great venue and great value of a hump day if you enjoy porterhouse

Make sure ALL BAR STAFF, know the right price to charge for a pint. How does it increase by 2$ in 10 mins?

Bad service for a place that’s still open for 1am. Not much choice for drinks and no food snack available. Will not go back and support any Brighton cafes/restaurants.

We recently had my wife's 40th Birthday at Half Moon. Sam and her functions team ensured we had an amazing night and her service and the team on the night excelled.

I was served by Alex- the service was beyond impeccable. Genuinely made me feel as tho I was apparat if the Half moon team.she was prompt and efficient as well as her ability to have a conversation with my whole family felt comfortable and can’t wait for our next stop at the Half moon! #BLM

I have never written a review in my life but here goes - we were very disappointed when we-recently attended this venue, my family are locals and we have all attended here on multiple occasions and spent a ton of money. Sadly on this particular night the girl at the bar had zero patience for our order of wine and rudely rolled her eyes and walked away which we found extremely rude. I made a passing comment to the waiter that was assisting us with our food order and as a result of this comment the manager bailed me up as I came out of the toilets and berated me for how I handled my grievances over the member of staff. I’m a business owner and understand stuff happens but I have never ever experienced an establishment treating their customers so badly because they cannot handle the truth about their staff. As a result of his rude behaviour which he could have approached very differently if he chose to, he reduced the income of the business massively, we had a huge party that were due to attend this night but he killed the vibe so we chose another venue that had friendly accommodating staff. Some people just shouldn’t be in hospitality.

Excellent indoor-outdoor vibe. Good food. Quite extensive but expensive wine list (for a pub).

Inattentive staff though. We ordered 2 dozen oysters and they brought us only 1 dozen. Later they forgot a wine order we placed (and staff blamed each other).

Dropped into this place passing through the area and it's a real treat. Great steak and drinks. Lovely outdoor courtyard area. Clean toilets. Winning in my books! Street parking is available or parking lots on the street behind varying from 1-2 hrs timed. Can order via the QR code for table service. Definitely recommend for a catch up with mates.

When the food came out at dinner tonight I was embarrassed and had to apologise to my guests!
I had talked half moon up but instead we all were left disappointed, particularly given the high prices. If you want to charge high prices for meals then it needs to be of high quality not below average suburban pub food.
Alternatively charge $20 for your meals and you will get what you pay for.
I'm a local and I would come back for the drinks and the venue but you've lost me on the food, that was simply embarrassing.

What a great pub! We have just moved to Brighton from Bondi and came to Half Moon on Saturday night with a bunch of friends. Great Atmosphere, Music was on point, the menu was a good variety and the staff outstanding. We had a top night and happy to call this our new local!

Very trendy gastro pub. Mains were delicious. Dessert was a bit weird, small menu but had an apple crumble but it was definitely a cake. Still good but a tad disappointing. Will be back though for another meal)

Great hotel, love the outdoor ish courtyard area, we watched the Grand Prix whilst enjoying some beers, wine and a bowl of fries, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great service.
