Loved the double layered chocolate cake with white penoy tea. Azmazing and friendly staff. The cafe is very easy to commute with either tram or train near jewel station. The place was cosy and perfect. The cake was suggested by one of the staff member after knowing our taste buds.

I've never noticed this cafe until I visited, it doesn't really stand out on the street but I wish I'd found it sooner
The menu is highly varied, you'd have trouble not finding something you'd like on it.
It is also extremely good value for money, with good serving sizes for the price.
Service was also quick even though the cafe can be extremely busy. It can be a little hard to find a seat sometimes, but it's worth it

A new regular favourite.

Really great cafe with a wide range of baked goods. I found a donut my son can eat and he has multiple food allergies. Prices are very reasonable compared to other cafes. Setup is very cosy and warm, and staff are friendly.

Will definately be back!

Quaint, cozy atmosphere. Everything was delicious and service was great. We had the chunky meat pie and pancakes. Meat pie had a nice flaky crust with roast beef and veggies. Pancakes included mixed berries and ice cream. Highly recommend!

Wow! I can't recommend this cafe enough. I recently failed to put in a catering order and was rescued by Sandy. Not only did she whip up everything I needed in a flash, she did so with s smile. I can't thank her enough and the food was amazing as usual. Thanks again.

Cosy atmosphere & friendly service. Great selection of baked goods (pastries & cakes) - all reasonably priced. I ordered the grilled halloumi burger - delicious.will definitely be back.

Always a good cup of loose leaf tea and great range of cakes made on the premises and very reasonably priced, it does get very crowded. There are a lot of vegetarian options. Ref is a Brunswick icon and is very popular with the local tertiary student population which is testament to its good eating value.

Greens is my favourite cafe ever! The food is delicious, servings are generous and the price is right. We live in Brisbane where there is no eatery that comes remotely close to the wonderful Greens experience. Each time we visit my son's family in Melbourne, we eat at Greens as often as we can. We also love the attitude of the staff, who passionately love food, so that one is not embarrassed to show one's enthusiasm.

I ordered the Green's Big Breakfast which is very filling and has a good variety on the plate to keep your palate interested. I also ordered the Halloumi and spinach pie (as I always do) because I think it is the best pie out of all the ones they make, and I've tried a few of them. I also ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice and it was fresh although would have been nicer if it were a little more chilled. It was good with everything I ordered, regardless. The place can be relaxed for a nice brunch if you go at the right time, although it can be packed at other times and days.

Cheap and classic cafe, cheerful vibes and atmosphere, decent quality food with a wide range of cafe style good. A great go to for takeaway or a pit stop for a casual bite.

Ok this place is adorable, packed to the BRIM and has a decent service time (drink to table). Many other downfalls however;
it is cramped, its cozy once you settle at a table but its difficult to move around comfortably
The next thing was, they served glasses of water, room temp. I was thrilled that this was a custom the staff offered you, but the water had many floaties.im unsure if the cups were dirty or the water was. It was offputting.grosss.

Depending where you sit you may have a stressful time or not. (near exits, hallwaysor busy flow areas) dont be fooled! This place is larger than you think! Theres a cute outside area with neutral facilities, and another inside section deeper back through the cafe. So dont settle for a less than average seat.

I cant say much good about this place. There is some interesting *quirky* characters here.id use it to meet someone for the first time eg. (Tinder). Plenty to talk about by just observing around you:)

Always love coming here, the food is generally amazing, the only thing that wasn't was the breakfast Benny burger, which has been amazing on previous visits.

Some people have commented about poor service on their review, clearly these people have become disorientated on their way to McDonald's. Whenever I enter an establishment that serves food and it is crowded with people waiting to get a table I expect the food to be worth the effort. I was not disappointed. Enjoying an excellent meal in a cosy, intimate environment like this is something to be cherished and savoured. Thank you to the hard working staff (especially the ones behind the scene) for creating a memorable experience.

A venue regularly full of customers doesn't always mean it's a great place but the seven day a week lunch crowd at Green Refectory certainly does reflect this cafes consistency. It's a Sydney Road institution with its tantalising dessert cabinet full of traditional and modern cakes and tarts, in addition to its brimming pie warmer full of a wide selection of house made pastries. My favourite is the steak and cheese pie - it's not just the tasty meat chunk filling but also the use of flaky pastry, not shortcrust, which is the case for all the pies, I think. But wait, there's more! The deli cabinet is full of beautiful salads, pre-made sandwiches, seaweed rolls, etc. And then there's the kitchen menu to choose from, too! It really is an amazing diversity of food to choose from. The cafe itself is the very embodiment of shabby vintage with a cosy home-like feel. Opening hours are generous, which is a rarity for cafes of this kind. It's a dependable friend at the busy city end of Sydney Road.

This is a Brunswick staple! It's got great food: they certainly don't skim on portions, plus it has an awesome vibe and you literally couldn't find a cheaper brekkie/lunch/dinner that's as good as what they offer anywhere else in Melbourne!

Greens cater to all types of dietary requirements, offering both vegan and vegetarian sweet & savory options every day. The vegan mango cheesecake I tried once was sublime! And they usually always stock carrot cake and a really good one at that

I just can't get over the range of stuff they have! The menu is HUGE! I often stand in the queue indicivively jumping between what I'm going to get: by no means is it a bad thing! They have something for every/any craving!
