Green Refectory screams scrumptious and hearty value for money meals. Their breakfast stack with Grilled Haloumi has stayed at $12 for years. It's always busy and has a queue. Though, I'd avoid their coffee - it's not the best.

Great cakes, pastries, and salads for dine in and take away. The flow - ie where and how you queue and order - is a challenge when busy. But usually worth it. Chai is ok, I think made from powder or a syrup, not loose leaf.

Been here a few times now. One time the food was soggy and undercooked. The other two times I had to wait a very long time as they were busy. The girl on the cash register lied to me as well, though I'm not sure she realised. The coffee is not good. The food overall is pretty good, but it is not worth the bad service when there are plenty of other places with good food around the area.

We ordered two meals which were cancelled. We then ordered a third meal - a halloumi burger with orange juice - and this arrived. (See attached image.) A soggy and barely edible sandwich! And the orange juice was lukewarm! That is all.

Delicious savoury and sweet treats found here! The coffee is also generally very good. They also have a decent selection of vegan desserts, including the elusive pumpkin pie!

Fantastic cafe.can be packed and busy.so come early or get takeaway. The pancakes were devine, large size and cheap! My ricotta egg broccoli frittata. Fresh and creamy.even tho you had so many in the display case. Will come back to try more.

Had a wonderful breakfast here. Prices are ridiculous for the portion sizes, and the staff are great. Couldn't recommend this more highly. But don't go there as it will become too crowded:)

An all time classic spot for cheap and fairly healthy eats! Came here recently for their lasagne and salad where they misplaced the salad however were kind enough to give me the salad afterwards as well as a coffee; lovely people lovely service! Highly recommend trying at least once:)

Great as ever. Blueberry and pear cake like nanna used to make. Love the chaotic furniture and mismatched crockery.

It’s a gorgeous venue and the food smelt great when me and my friends walked in, that’s where the good ended.

We sat for 15 minutes talking and waiting for a waiter to bring us a menu, when one walked up to our table looking confused with a juice in his hand which we hadn’t ordered we were told we could “get the menu yourself”.

Not coming back here, terrible service.

You cannot make a wrong decision here. Everything is amazing and so reasonably price. Best pies in Victoria!

This is where I discovered walking down Brunswick Street.:) :) There were a lot of people on the weekend. If you have time, I recommend visiting on weekdays. Price is not burdensome compared to other restaurants or cafes, And because there are many kinds of food, it is fun to choose. It was good to have gone all three days. Do not forget the dessert! You must eat! ️️

Cool and chilled atmosphere, amazing food (especially the halloumi burger for me) and pastries and great service. All at an affordable price, what else do you want from a cafe? My favourite in town!

Terrible service. They just put the food in front of you or remove it a way while you are still there without a word or eyes contact. I order eggs Benedict and one regular latte. The spoon and forks were given with a wet tissue. I am not sure if it had just been clean. The food and drink are no special compare the other coffee shop around there. Brunswick area has so much of better food and coffee shop that you should spend money and try rather than this one. Sorry guys, just given a true comment to help you improve quality of service.

Never have I seen a cafe so consistently busy with happy customers and for a reason. Years and years of amazing customer service, unbeatable prices and I mean really affordable for the quality and quantity. From young to majestic it attracts all walks of life. Cakes to sausage rolls to a vegans wet dream, it really does accommodate. This is a everyday option to take away or eat in if there is a seat available because it really is busy. On a budget or flexing on them haters, it's something you should try out and stop by if you're in the area of brunswick, just after Brunswick road, along the number 19 Sydney road tram and parallel of Jewell station along the upfield line, thank you!
