Gods Kitchen reviews
68 In Mornington's heart, where memories unfurl,
Gods Kitchen stands, in an old church swirl.
A quirky haven, built in Eighteen Sixty-Seven,
No priests, just flavors, like a taste of heaven.
Eye fillet steak, a divine retreat,
Gin and Tonic, a refreshing feat.
Outdoor seating, soaking up the sun,
Local beers and wine, a journey begun.
In this holy abode of culinary grace,
Gods Kitchen beckons, a memorable embrace.
Attended for steak night. Great location. Steak was a good size but not very accurate on the cooking levels. Some over done and some under. Unfortunately we were unable to swap as gravy was over them.
The venue is very loud and hard to have a conversation across the table as it gets busy. Service was great.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly even while under the pump. Pub vibes if that’s what you’re looking for, catering more for the drinks, food wise not great. I had the eggplant Parma which was all crumb barely had any eggplant, very disappointing
Chips were crunchy
Roast lamb nicely cooked with a red sauce
Risotto was lovely initially but the truffle oil was a little overpowering. It seems risotto rice was cooked seperate from mushrooms/chicken/prawns as it was added separately to the rice
Pstar martini was on the sweeter side
Unfortunately where we sat there was limited lighting
Lovely service
God's kitchen was a great choice for our family outing yesterday. We were impressed by the quality and taste of all the food we ordered. Everything was hot, fresh and extremely tasty. I especially loved the parma, which had a crispy crust and a generous layer of cheese. The kids also enjoyed their meals and the friendly atmosphere. The beer selection was amazing, with their own God's Kitchen beer and the Sapporo beer brewed on site. The staff was beyond amazing, excellent and diligent in their work. They made us feel very much welcomed and satisfied.
Delicious starters and Chocolate dessert, cool artwork design on the wall inside the restaurant and good vibe outdoor sitting.
The service and the food was well cooked and pretty good. Pricey though for what it was. Their Shiraz was not great. My only thing was the venue was super weird and had a really strange vibe. Outside dining was better.
Went here ages ago with some girlfriends, it was lovely, good food, great cocktails and a wide selection of them. Was a little pricey but you get that with fancy cocktails in a lot of places. Would definitely go back
Its the second time we have dine in, Sunday lunch with my partner and 2 daughters, 4x bruschetta and 2 pizzas, the food was very enjoyable, staff and restaurant manager were so friendly and helpful, we will be back!
Huge tasty portions- pub grub comfort-food. Friendly service. Cocktails were OK. Deserts were nice.
Wow.the security / FoH team here were AWFUL last Saturday evening. We were hoping to have some drinks and pizza in the beer garden (it was just gone 8pm) and were asked by the first security guy if we were there for drinks/food, to which we replied yes. He asked us if we'd booked and we said no, and he said, "we turn into a night club later so it will be $11 each" (there's no mention of it turning into a "nightclub" on website/facebook so we weren't aware). Then a young blonde woman shouldered me out of the way to get something from behind the desk without even an "excuse me" or apology when she bumped me, and not even looking at us, barked the cover charge at us again. Most places don't charge the cover fee until the actual club starts (in this case 9pm), but there was no way we were going to pay $22 to eat in a beer garden. We also heard the other FoH people laughing because we were asked for ID (assuming because we are late 30's and they felt that was too old to be at this establishment). We don't mind if it turns into a club, but at least have some customer service / FoH manners and talk to people as though they are customers and not nuisances in a nightclub queue at 3am.
Main food was amazing, cocktails were great! Would have loved a more complex dessert menu service was top notch!
My wife and I had our vow renewal in early December, and we booked God’s kitchen for our dinner get together with our guests the night before the event.
Our guests (20 of us) really enjoyed our dinner there. Loved the converted church setting and decor (rock and roll quotes) and the relaxed vibe. The food was great too.
I also really appreciated that all of the guests were able to order and pay separately, which made things a lot easier for us.
Special mention to Buddha (events manager) as well. We had to change our guests number a few times leading up and they were always super communicative and accommodating.
Just a note, on Fridays at around 9PM the place became more of a night club with some dancing. We didn't mind it and I thought it was quite funny for my mum to be listening to some classic 90s hip-hop:)
Overall we’d definitely recommend God’s Kitchen for large bookings and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Mornington:)
Absolutely love this place.we were here for a function yesterday. The staff are amazing, kind, accommodating, friendly and nothing was too much for them. The food was amazing. Love the layout. We will be back! Thank you for helping make an amazing day even more special!
My family and I went to eat at God's Kitchen and were very impressed. The waitstaff were kind, attentive and excellent, and the food was amazing and tasty, and the service was prompt. Thank you for making my grandpa's 90th birthday so memorable and special. Will certainly be coming back and would highly recommend this eatery.
Super helpful staff. Able to help get a suitable table for myself and my wife with her wheelchair. Once we got there, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food... OMG, I ate so much that I can't even look at food now but so looking forward to coming back to try something else from the menu.

Back again tonight. Their chef is an artist. The things that they do to food. Wow. Just wow. Steak was so well done and my wife's parmigiana was amazing too.
Great ambience and location with excellent indoor and outdoor areas. The beef burger and parma were just fantastic.super tasty amd faaaar better than average. I really, really, must come back and try lots more of the food and drinks. Would be an awesome evening venue, with great outdoor areas.
Visited for Christmas Party. Wonderful. Super friendly staff, good drinks and AMAZING Food. Super easy to get too and plenty of parking options nearby. Highly recommend.
We arranged a hens party last weekend at Gods kitchen.
From the moment I enquired, the service was exceptional! Nothing was too much trouble and accomodating all my requests, even opening an hour earlier so we could fit everything we had planned into the day.
The food (high tea/ brunch) was fabulous. Presented on small plates and tiered stands, and plenty for everyone!
The staff were next level lovely, making sure our party of 19 guests always had a drink, and had plenty to eat, and most importantly, looked after our bride to be with a fabulous cocktail on arrival and making her feel very special throughout the morning.
Would highly recommend Gods kitchen for any event! I’ll definitely be back!
Heavenly service let me me tell you the food was fantastic the environment was terrific. The pizza was so delicious and so was the chips with tomato sauce. The staff were so accommodating and friendly can’t wait to go back.
