Glicks Balaclava reviews
67I have bought a few cakes from there on o casion and they were all very good. But recently discovered their bread in Woolworths supermarket also just down the street from the backers. Their brown sliced loaf is ABSOLUTELY fantastic soft moist and you would be hard pressed to know it even had a crust. But their white sliced loaf should come with an addiction warning on the pack. MAGNIFICENT BEYOND WORDS! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Glicks Balaclava, you are our favourite bagel shop but we won't be back anytime soon as you openly serve unmasked patrons without question. Please help us to keep our area safe. Shame.
Authentic Jewish bagels, and the best I know. Whenever I'm anywhere near the area I always make a detour to Glicks and stagger away with as many as I can carry.
I was told that Glicks was THE places to get bagels in Melbourne, but while they bagels looked like bagels, they were not the dense and chewy New York style bagels that I was hoping for.
Overall, it's a good bakery, but it didn't live up to it's reputation.
I had ordered some mini bagels for delivery. Yes they do mention they only deliver within 5km. I am in south morang so further away.
Anyway I included a message to please contact me I will pay extra for delivery, (they already charge $17 for delivery they!) they can even send to my work which is closer. I asked for them to get back to me and not to just cancel my order. We'll they cancelled my order, without contacting me. No phone call.
Very disappointed, unprofessional.
First time here. Had the rudest lady speak to me 0 customer service. I would not return or recommend
Smorgasbord of kosher delights, usually quick service and fair prices. If you haven't been give it a go!
This is the birthplace of the Melbourne boiled bagel. Make sure you get there early for the warm off the rack bagels. Friday is perfect for a warm challah which is great the next day for French toast.
All ways was. All ways there. Stands in Balaclava great place food drink as you find others to say hello closed saturday. Now that is kosher. And so are they. 5 star kosher
Drove across town to try this place as I had heard it was good. Very disappointed everything looked dirty and the produce for filling the bagels looked old and definitely not fresh. Was completely put off and we ended up going to another bagel place across the road under the train station which was by far superior, cleaner, fresher, friendlier, and had a queue of people lined up.
Gave it a try. Food on display in the food warmers was not heated. Loaf of bread was dense and did not taste fresh.
Absolutely disgusting experience this morning, a small woman spate on in the face by a tall Hassidic male because she queried why he wasn't wearing a mandatory face mask within the shop. The shop assistant acted as though nothing happened, as did other customers. His verbal response after spitting directly in her face was an angry "I can do whatever i want".
This is wrong on so many levels - males assaulting females, disregard for others welfare, disgusting act and so on.
Maybe I’m missing something but they were just ok. A bit overpriced for pretty ordinary bagels.
Bagels are excelent but prices are a little steep.bagels have nice texture and the taste is beyond heaven!
Good quality pastries, bagels, cakes at very affordable prices. Everything seems to be made on premises.
Not the same since Mr Gluck passed away but Haymisha and Glicks are great places. Love the Jewish people.
Oh their dark chocolate honey cake squares for Jewish new year. If they aren't proof of YHWH I dunno what is.
Nice variety, lots of bagels were sold out and we were there midday. Had a salmon cream cheese bagel that was overloaded with capers, too salty for my liking. Bagels itself were delicious
Overpriced kosher bakery/deli shop. No prices displayed and you have to ask staff for the cost of every item. Ask 2 and you get 2 different prices lol.
No receipts are given. A total rip off joint.
