Fowles Wine reviews
68Super rude and unwelcoming Manager who managed in the space of 5 minutes to make 3 rude and passive-aggresive comments. New menu is great if you like eating animals. New renovation is gorgeous.
Fantastic wine tasting! The lady that looked after us was brilliant (sadly I didn’t catch her name)! A nice selection of great tasting wines.it was difficult to choose! Picked up some bottles for gifts and for ourselves. Definitely worth a stop to/from Melbourne and looks like a good choice for lunch in the cafe/restaurant too.
Beautiful wines. Great customer service. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us and our kids.
Another must do on your way to Melbourne. Towels Wine is a great place to stop for a break with your family. The wine tasting is fund and friendly. The food is nice. Try the tasting boards with wine pairing. You won't be disappointed.
Had the special - goat curry. Sri Lankan chef did a great job. I would have preferred a little more veg and a little less meat and rice but otherwise a really pleasant meal. Lovely setting and relaxed service.
Fabulous coffee, high quality and well priced wine selection. Daily breakfast and lunch that competes with any Melbourne venue. Beautiful views. All available in a Avenel. Amazing. Worth a stop on any trip north of Melbourne.
Staff we’re friendship. Antipasto was nice. Lamb was tough and salmon just average. Had expected more from a winery and for the price.
The pickled local trout on a garden salad with dobs of mayonnaise was a lovely lunch. The lamb and the steak also looked good for those who would want a heavier more substantial lunch. The waitress was very nice and paired the wines to the meals very well. The venue was well patronised on this day and so was quite noisy, but this added to the lively lunchtime vibe - more cafe than high end dining in this regard. The cellar door staff were less affable, the demeanour was austere and humourless, more business like than warm and welcoming.
