Fowles Wine reviews
68 Probably one of the nicest cellar doors we’ve been too. Farm shop, tasting room, feasting arboretum (want one of them at home) and restaurant.
We did the tasting as too early too eat. Bought some lovely wines.
Parking for cars as well as buses and caravans. Well worth a stop.
Went here for a function today. The staff were really friendly especially the women at the shop and the guy serving drinks at the function. The function area looks lovely. All the food was very nice as was the wine:)
We LOVE Fowles! Our family have lived in the area for several generations and have been coming to Fowles since the Plunkett days. The “new” cellar door is divine, with delicious food all year round, a welcoming ambiance, and most importantly - extremely personable staff, who possess an impressive knowledge of the product line as well as the rare talent of picking wines on your behalf (and actually getting it right!) The cellar door manager, Kyle, in particular is one of our favourite hospitality staff we have ever met. He is professional and quirky with the most wicked sense of humour and a heart of gold - a treasure to be cherished! The Saperavi is a chefs kiss. 10/10.
Fantastic place for a travel break. Large and unique selection of quality wines for tasting snd purchase. Tasting room is reminiscent of a bar with stools locate around the horshoe shaped bar accompanied by tables made from old wine presses.
The restaurant has a large and interesting menu and the outdoor dining is superb in nice weather. Coffee is also an option for those looking for a quick break.
This winery is so beautiful. The staff are attentive, the food and wine was delicious and the grounds/scenery are so lovely. There are free roaming chickens in a shed that you can go close up and look at and a sheep paddock too. The decor is so delightful and I will definitely be back again.
Staff were amazing, so accommodating and friendly. Kid friendly with an outdoor area with slide and tunnel. Staff even came out with our drinks and let us know our food arrivedFood was delicious and the perfect amount to not over eat!
Second time I’ve been for a wine tasting here and it does not disappoint. Beautiful wines, super reasonable prices. Gabby helped us pick our selection and was amazing. Super knowledgeable and friendly
This is our second visit. It is our go to place now for celebrations and will be bringing family when they visit. The food is delicious and so beautifully presented. The service always done with a wonderful smile and a light and easy interaction. The wine is amazing, and my husband loves the beer and ciders and the beautiful bottles they come in. Weekends are busy so if you can go during the week I highly recommend. We have done both and although the weekends are busy, when we went, we could not fault the service. Our second time we sat in a booth which was beautiful as we were warmed by the sun.
We love this winery - open for breakfast and lunch only (sadly be good to have dinner here too) They also do weddings and private functions at night
Food is always consistently good, it has a great little produce store, wine tasting and a great indoor restaurant and outdoor area!
We often take our dog with us for lunch but if it’s a cold day sitting in the restaurant overlooking the Strathbogie’s rangers it’s absolutely beautiful
There has been no money spared on this winery as it’s got a great feel about it - make sure you visit the facilities to see the old concrete washhouse sinks revitalised
Food excellent, wine great and try one of the local beers too …. A highlight is the Strathbogie beer made locally
I also like their sparkling rose but in saying that everything is always great
Always a good standard and well worth a visit
Atmosphere was great - beautiful views, great spacious dining area (although it was busy so was v crowded). Went on a rainy day so outdoors was not used, but I imagine on a glorious day, it would be nice out there.
Food was great mostly (scallops entree, mushrooms main & steak main) but the steak we ordered was a lil overcooked actually.
Lots of wine to taste and drink and see plenty of people enjoying their drinks but we were on a mission to drive onwards so not for us that day!
Called into Fowles cellar door and restaurant for lunch and we were absolutely delighted with ambience, presentation and cleanliness - food was delicious as wine was smooth on palate and Kyle in cellar door was knowledgeable about all the different wines and certainly the right person for the position. Highly recommend calling in if in the region. Thanks Kyle and Fowles.
Stunning winery, great wine and staff who are down to earth and knowledgeable. I can't believe after many years of going to nagambie we have never been here. We will be coming back many more times.
We had a very enjoyable lunch with our family. The food was delicious and the waiters looked after us very well.
Our breakfast was sensational. Excellent quality.
Wine tasting after breakfast was one of the best wine tasting experiences we have had thanks to Marina, Gabby and Kyle. All three had great knowledge of the wines and made some excellent suggestions on how to enhance the wines with chocolate and food. The Frosè to complete the tasting refreshened the palate for us to continue our day. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
Stunning location and a wonderful mubrick building. Food and wine is exceptional and a show price for the state
Excellent range of wines (current favourites are Riesling, Arneis and Shiraz), very yummy food, and beautiful surroundings.
Beautiful venue. Dropped in for a tasting on the recommendation of a friend last week. Staff were exceptional from the moment we walked in, friendly and helpful. Stand out was Kyle who did our tasting and was very knowledgeable. He guided us through the wines that we would enjoy most based on our tastes and helped us select some very superb wines. The Madame is delicious!
We found ourselves in Nagambie for a wedding last week and a close friend recommended Fowles. After a quick 20 minute drive we were greeted at the front door and found ourselves sitting at the cellar bar. We were introduced to venue manager Courtney, who was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and flaired her passion for wine. She guided us through an extensive wine list, tailoring to our liking.
She offered all of our favourites as well as some we hadn’t had before. She spoke around the regions, food pairings, notes, artwork and processes. Courtney’s energy, dedication and enthusiasm made the experience a 10/10.
Thank you Courtney!
The venue is beautiful and staff are attentive and courteous. We had a fantastic experience with top notch food at the restaurant followed with a wonderful wine tasting experience in the tasting room. We enjoyed every moment we were there and look forward to another visit in the future! Thank you for looking after us and making us feel special!
We booked for Mothers Day outside as we had 3 small children, we also had a 99+ great grandmother with us and we were concerned that the outside seating would be a little uncomfortable for her. We were moved into the Private Dining Room at no extra expense. We really appreciated this. The food was very good and the service was exceptional for a very very busy day.
