Fonda Mexican

They must take the pink theme very seriously here because my chicken was Fonda pink. Shout out to the manager who was lovely and gave us a refund (they gave my vegan friend dairy sour cream).

Ordered the vegan nachos and they gave me sour cream, LUCKILY i didn’t eat it because i could tell immediately it was dairy otherwise i would’ve been extremely ill.i’m vegan due to allergies so having dairy in my meal is just not acceptable and the waitress said it was vegan when she gave it to us even though it wasn’t.the waitress didn’t even get back to me when i told her it had dairy on it, she just left with my meal and the manager had to apologise for it.the manager was amazing and gave us refunds so shoutout to her.

Customer service / manager was terrible. If you can't make cocktails, dont have them on your menu! I can't say one positive about the place. Good luck!

Ordered tacos, a burrito, nachos and corn. Waited 30 minutes for the tacos to come out. Another 15 minutes for the burrito and then after another 10 minutes, had to ask where the nachos and corn were. 10 minutes later the nachos and corn arrived. Won’t come back again.

Fonda Mexican is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, the vibrant decor and friendly staff transport you to the heart of Mexico. The food? Exceptional. I ordered the Chargrilled Chicken Quesadilla and the Watermelon & Lime Aguas Fresca. The chicken is tender, well marinated. The tortilla is lightly toasted on a grill, creating a crispy, golden exterior that contrasts beautifully with the creamy, gooey melted cheese and flavorful chicken. Drink is very refreshing.

Very satisfied, surely will be back!

The worst place to eat food accidentally entered the washing area assumed it was a bathroom. If you go and have a look at the way they wash dishes and the dishes food is being served in, severe consequences for WHS procedures. Also the lady named Charlotte and another girl named dani were super rude to their own team, and to customers. The food is so unhygienic, no cleanliness maintained even with an open kitchen. Pathetic and disgusting.

Didn’t finish our meals, chicken was undercooked and everything just covered is sauce. The watermelon soda also not great, taste more like water than watermelon. Do not recommend.

Overpriced and very rude staff. $65 for a “JUG” cocktail that was full of ice and poured not even 3 glasses! Complete rip off and would definitely not recommend.

Food and service were at standard. However as we were leaving we witnessed a waitress being fired - not sure why that conversation could not have been held somewhere private? Was a bit awkward to witness. Hopefully it was for a good reason.

Nice range of Mexican food on offer here. Table service using a QR code so nice an easy to order extra/split the bill.
Great selection of drinks and juices made on side. I had a watermelon one which was particularly refreshing.
Very good gluten free selection. Even the burritos came with the option of a gluten free wrap. (Not that clear on the menu but comes up as an option when ordering). I would definitely go back as there was so much I wanted to try!

I now understand why this place is always empty, It’s not a good sign when you go to a Mexican restaurant and request a side bowl of the rice they use in their burritos.and they refuse to give you one saying they aren’t allowed to deviate from the menu. As someone with allergens, I was looking for something simple to eat. Now I understand why no one eats here.

This Fonda is way too expensive than others. The service was not that great and we ordered a chicken burrito which was really bad.
It certainly didn’t meet the expectations

Ordered a brisket burrito when it came was only brisket in one half of the burrito and when I bit into it it was so hard the whole peice of meat just came out of the burrito
You would hope paying $20 for a burrito they would atleast shred the meat
The other half when I bit into it was just rice and salad and just bland

I could pay half and go to Guzman for a better burrito

I gave it two stars instead of one as they provide free table water
(So I didn’t have to pay $6 for a can of coke)

Come here on lunch break every day, quality and service always a 10. Kai is my favourite staff member, absolute legend!

Wish I had dined in, atmosphere looked great, clean and friendly staff.
Food was delicious, fresh and very filling. Great portion sizes. Highly recommend

Not sure why they feel the need to suggest a tip when all ordering and payment is done via a QR code on the table before the food has even arrived

I must say the first time I went to Fonda I was impressed, however this is at the city location.

Last night the Fonda at Chadstone did nothing but disappoint. I ordered the nachos, which came out with cold cheese all over it. I politely took them back and asked for new nachos with the cheese melted. After waiting 15 minutes they arrived, yet the chef who made them thought it was appropriate to add all the other cold elements such as guacamole, Picco De Gallo, jalepenos etc before heating up the nachos. Who in their right mind thinks it's appropriate to serve hot guacamole. The meal was disgusting, however I couldn't go back and explain how nachos should be made to the server as i felt embarrassed for them and the people preparing the food. This was an absolute embarrassment for this franchise and I won't see myself ever returning. Beware cooks at chadstone don't know what ingredients should be served hot or cold. Food was appalling.

Customer Service was bad. Manager took the booking incorrectly for 2 people instead of 3.we got there and we were told we had to wait another 30 mins for a table for 3, after already having to wait 45 mins. Also the manager had no customer service skills and was very rude and abrupt…

Really friendly staff.
Food can be a little slow when busy but delicious. The other day I ate the best nachos I've ever had including on previous visits

Absolutely cannot recommend Fona high enough. Especially Fonda Chadstone. Their service was top quality and extremely quick.

As a vegan it is difficult to find many options wherever you go, but Fonda were so incredibly accommodating for me and my young children. My 90 year old Mexican grandmother was also wildly impressed with their modern take on the classic guac!
