Fish Fetish

Drove past this place on a Saturday afternoon and saw a ridiculously long queue. Assumed that the fish and chips must be good and hence the queue. Placed an order and was told the wait was around 20 mins, only to instead wait for almost an hour! As though the wait was was not bad enough, their fish and chips are probably the worst I have ever come across! The calamari was extremely chewy, I could have sworn I had to try and chew it atleast a dozen times and I still couldn't bite into it! The chips were undercooked and taste pathetic, don't waste your time here. Absolute disappointment!

There's a bit of a wait, but trust me, it's well worth it. The chips are always golden, and the fish is ocean fresh.

So after all the hype we expected it to be great, it wasn't even that good and the chips were really disappointing. We had two fish with a serving of chips as well as a calamari and spring roll. Won't be back.

Friendly staff members, food is fresh and delicious! It dosen't look like a norm fish n chip shop, it has a real cool look to it

Only good thing is the decorations. Chips are okay. Fish not fresh, super fishy. Almost no locals come, only tourists. Never had such a terrible burger. When it says plain, it truly means super plain

Absolutely horrible the fish was absolutely disgusting the chips were rock hard as the potato cakes DO NOT recommend

They forgot all of the five potato cakes that we ordered and paid for. The $8.50 veggie burger with cheese was extremely disappointing being just a massive bread roll with a bubble and squeak patty, some lettuce and cheese. Chips and grilled fish were so-so. Would not recommend.

Food and service was both top notch. Definitely more like a fast-food place, but 100% worth the try!

Ordered grilled flake come out soft and soggy, and tasteless. The hamburger was not great either. Chips and potato cakes were good on a positive note but I would not call it good value for money. Overall very disappointed as by my daughter doesn't want to eat fish and chips anymore.

This place has a sick fetish for ripping off customers! OK food but I was charged for a slice of lemon which almost gave me a heart attack! Really going against the grain here to the practice of all self respecting Fish and Chip shops which is to include lemon automatically to any order involving fish.

Sadly to find only take cash which we didn’t have, and I didn’t have the right card to get money out from nearby atm. Looked popular though. We left hungry and headed over to Blairgowrie instead to scratch our itch for fish and chips.

Great fish - especially the flathead. Calamari and sweet potato chips good too. Salad simple, but fresh. They said it would take 10-15 mins which was spot on. Will return.

Sooooo stingy. This place has been here in sorrento for years and they can't even get proper outdoor seating or give free lemon wedges with your food. Food is cooked in ancient oil as well, my potato cake was a dark grey brown colour. My burger was assembled by a man with dirty bare hands. Never coming back again.

Nice area to visit and eat food in, shame about the food though. The hamburger patties tasted like sausage rolls from 7/11 Definitely not a nice experience. Only fetish this place has is ripping off customers with charging $2 to add a sauce to an already flavorless burger.

Hmm.cash only, no clear signs saying this and you find out after saying your order. How can you do business in what is becoming a cashless society is beyond me! Poor guy after me order over $100 worth of food and then was told oh sorry, cash only!

Place was super busy. I got the grilled fish pack. The fish was not seasoned at all & probably had just been steamed not even grilled. I felt it was expensive for the quality and quantity. Paid $14 something for a single fillet of fish with a little bit of Greek salad. I wouldn't go back if I can help it & wouldn't suggest anyone else to go here either. Nothing special.

Good service given the crowd present when I went - it was faster than I expected. The fish was cooked quite well but the batter was a bit on the oily side. The chips were very nice however. A good choice overall to have some fish and chips on a nice day.

We drove down to Sorrento (40 minutes) to taste the best fish and chips (apparently) however when we arrived the shop was closed. Fitting new fryers and we're running late to open. Maybe next time if ever we are back that way.

Some of the best chips in Melbourne, we drop in here whenever we’re down the coast and they never fail to deliver on quality. The right level of crispness we desire in our potato chips. We’re very fussy too and don’t often get a serving of chips as good as these folks. Thanks so much. Highly recommend
