Ferntree Gully Kia

I purchased my stinger in late 2020 for a price which I was very happy with. Price agreed upon and a virtual handshake done when knee deep in stage 4 restrictions, with the understanding that when restrictions were listed, I would come to inspect the car in person. Upon inspection and final agreement, the understanding was that the vehicle would be tinted, ceramic coated and tow bar installed pre delivery.

I attended once restrictions permitted and inspected the vehicle, noticing that the vehicle ALREADY had a tow bar fitted. This was raised with the dealership who were at first very apologetic and agreed to adjust the contract price to minus the $1358 of the tow bar.

I received a phone call a short time later from the dealership, informing me that the tow bar was “new” and recently installed as per our agreement.

I was extremely dissatisfied with this as the tow bar was clearly not new. So I forwarded the original car sales advertisement images to the dealership where a tow bar hitch was visible, proving the tow bar was already fitted prior to inspection and in fact the first deal done whilst in lockdown.

At that point I became quite disappointed that the dealership tried to pull the wool over my eyes and charge me in excess of $1300 for a tow bar which was already installed!

After the dealer admitting what they had tried to do was “unethical” an offer was made to remove $700 from the total price (which was apparently the cost price of the bar) and as a trade off, install aftermarket kia stinger badges to the value of $300 to which I agreed upon as I really wanted the car at this point.

Left with a sour taste in my mouth, I received yet another call from the dealership saying that they could only give me $200 value of aftermarkets and I would have to pay the extra $100.

Had I not inspected the car thoroughly and located the admittedly quite hidden tow hitch, I would have been charged $1300+ for a brand new tow bar, even though there was one fitted to the car already!

All in all I had a terrible experience with Kia Ferntree Gully, they were extremely deceptive and were caught in an outright lie. I would highly advise looking elsewhere.

I understand this was a few months ago now but it took me a while to get over the deceptive and borderline criminal behaviour and culture which I experienced at Ferntree Gully Kia

I had a great experience buying my car from FTG Kia. The salesperson, Greg, contacted me as soon as I said I was interested in the car on CarSales, which was about 7pm on a weeknight. We chatted and he made me feel very comfortable.
When I went in to test drive and buy, I was introduced to finance and aftercare staff who were friendly and shared my excitement over my new car.
Finance was sorted out with Jarrod on the spot and he was patient with all my questions.
The car was ready four days later and presented with a big red bow, even though it wasn’t brand new, and all staff were genuine, friendly and not at all pushy. We got a great price and very good trade in too.
I really appreciate their customer service and LOVE my new (slightly used) Sportage!

Vehicle was well serviced and checkin process was efficient. Unfortunately Kia could not wash the car but gave me a handwash voucher which was appreciated. Will go back there for another service when the time comes.

I recently shortlisted a used Kia Sorento and somehow the deal didn't worked, but I must admit these guys are thorough professional and returned my full advance deposit of 1000$.
