Fedele's Ristorante Italiano reviews
81 I have always loved going to Fedeles but my last experience was very disappointing.
The service was very slow and not overly friendly.
My pasta dish was very oily, not much seafood at all and barely warm.
I overall think they were rather complacent.
My wife and I had an absolute lovely dinner date there. Food was amazing, and our waiter David did an impeccable job serving us, and gave us some good advice in sights to see while staying in Melbourne, will definitely be back
Lovely staff and great food. The ambience was great and decor added to the experience. There was a large range of drinks to chose from but most by the bottle.
Food was great and the service was friendly. The wait from order of the entrees was 50 minutes, which seemed a little long, overall though it had a nice atmosphere.
About 10 tables only due to covid + function room. Food took some time to be served. Eye fillet steak was cooked well. Latte was good. Happy to come back again.
Excellent, well balanced, fresh creative food. Great ambience with attentive table service. Highly recommended. Thankyou!

What a strange experience. Looking forward to an authentic Italian experience we started with Oysters, the oysters were lovely and fresh as were the wait-staff, but the mignonette had grated carrot in it. Little did we know that this baffling vegetable inclusion would set the tone for the evening. We tried the Asparagus spears. These were partially encased in filo pastry came with orange jewels, Chevre and an.orange and er.green? Sauce. They also came with a small amount of…something. My partner and I were perplexed, was it home made cheese curd? Was it grated sponge? My partner ventured that it might be an egg, I was dubious but. Bingo! Our waiter cheerfully informed that they had run some beaten egg through a sieve into some boiling water to form this garnish. He neglected to mention why though. At this point I should mention the wine. Whoever the sommelier is here, they are great. No, I’m not kidding all the wine we tried was top notch and well-priced. We had some excellent Australian chardonnay and some South-African Semeion and both were brilliant. My partners Calves liver arrived, and it was really good! Beautifully cooked, an excellent balance of sweetness and acid that complimented the liver perfectly. There was an abundance of corn which gave us pause but my partner really enjoyed it. As we did the steamed vegetables, this might sound like faint praise but the asparagus in the Asparagus spears did seem to be getting a bit long in the tooth so fresh, perfectly steamed, and buttered vegetables were something of a relief.
Then my special arrived, Gnocchi with pork meatballs. First the Gnocchi was great, clearly home made with a lovely flavour and softness, the pork meatballs were a little plain but good, the sauce was kind of a Burr Blanc, unusual with pork meatballs but tasty with some gorgonzola mixed through. The vegetables however were somewhat odd. I wasn’t expecting an abundance of broccoli, nor capsicum, nor baby tinned corn…the corn really got me. This mix made the sauce taste strangely Asian as if to distract from this there were whole cocktail onions straight from a jar hiding in the sauce to surprise you just when you were about to say, “What region of Italy do you think this is from? ”. It wasn’t that it was terrible…it was just baffling. Like if I were to make Gnocchi and Italian meatballs from my lockdown pantry. “Well, I HAVE baby tinned corn and a jar of cocktail onions…where else am I going to use them? ”. Two stars for the wine.
Hands down the best restaurant within a 10km radius.
We have been coming here or having takeaway for the last ten years and the food is always fresh, tasty and delicious.
The staff are helpful and go above and beyond to ensure dietary requirements are met and that we are happy.
Would give six stars if I could.
We recently enjoyed a Father’s Day Hamper which we ordered online.
The food was was delicious, presentation of the hamper was excellent.
So hard for hospitality in these challenging times.
I highly recommend Fedeles for a beautiful restaurant meal enjoyed at home.
Food was very good, but the restaurant was cold and we had to keep our jackets on. Coffee was also cold. We sent back a cup and it was immediately replaced but was still cold. Service was good and friendly.
First time dining at Fedele's. Only highlight was the dessert. Service was disappointing. Not worth going back.
Good place, good food. Love all the staff so kind and sweet
Food was amazing and would go there again and multiple other times
Called to make a booking. Got an answering machine telling me to book online. Booked online, drove to restaurant to be told there is no table for us. Disappointing!
We recently celebrated a joint 70th birthday at Fedele's and couldn't have been happier! The service and food were amazing, everyone is still talking about what a perfect restaurant it is to celebrate a birthday at!
I went here for the first time on the weekend and my boyfriend had been here 20 years ago. The decor was homey and I loved the colour scheme. I’ve course the original owners have retired but the staff were all wonderful and polite. The food was great, and my main meal gnocchi was so good, unlike some places this gnocchi tasted fresh and home made. The cocktails and the couple of wines we had were nice. Will definitely be coming back here
An old favourite. Friends and I go every couple of weeks to catch up. Highly recommend the mushroom and bacon tortellini. Always say I'll try something different and then don't. Have had the steak, oysters and desserts though. All I can recommend
This is that restaurant I go to and expect a quality experience. The ambiance was lovely as always with a modern feel, soft lighting and an easy warmth to the place.
As a licensed venue, the drink selection was perfect for me. The food was on par to my expectations and the service was attentive.
It was sometimes harder for a restaurant to look after a group celebrating and in this case they did very well.
Would I come back, for special events certainly.
Everything was lovely, steak was cooked to perfection, a bit pricey, but that will be forgotten long before a wonderful night with my lovely guest shall be.
We went on a recommendation & were fairly disappointed.
Husband ordered the cob loaf for starters & there just wasn't enough dip for the amount of bread.
I got the oysters Kilpatrick & was happy with those.
For mains hubby had the gnocchi & I had the egg fettucini with napoli sauce & there was just no flavour in either dishes, the fettucini had no napoli sauce at all & honestly all I could taste was oil. The meat & vegies in the pasta were cooked to perfection but overall the dish had no flavour & I was really looking foward to the napoli sauce.
For dessert hubby had tiramisu & was disappointed with hardly any mascarpone. I had the special which was lemon curd & meringue with confit pears. This was AMAZING, definitely the highlight of my night.
The coffee was ok, & both our wine & cocktails we were very happy with. Waitresses did an amazing job despite being understaffed. We won't be returning due to an overall disappointment with the food.
New Owners have been very rude whenever I see them, nothing wrong with food or staff. Won't come here again due to the combative and verbally abusive owners.
