Have been twice before and was good once upon a time.

Recommend the pulled pork and both sets of sausages. Brisket was nice but the dry rub on the ribs were too salty. A

All primed up for NYE dinner, we pre-ordered pork ribs and beef short ribs. Got a mac 'n' cheese and some fries for the little one. We were so disappointed. The pork was chewy and the beef was average. We were asked for feedback but no one really seemed too interested when we shared how disappointing they were. I can think of a lot of better ways to spend $200. Such a shame but I have to say the service was pretty good otherwise.

I booked a table for 6 people to have dinner on Saturday. All of us are over 30 years old and they didn’t let us in because we didn’t have our ID. First time in my life that a RESTAURANT asked me for an ID. If you have this ridiculous policy at least post it on your website and/or let people know when they do their bookings.

If you are looking for meat or are a low carb person and an American steakhouse ambience suits you, then Fancy Hanks on Bourke St is a good choice. We booked and just as well as the place up one flight of stairs was buzzing. Our table of 4 ordered 4 meat dishes and 4 sides. The meat comes on one big sharing plate. Everything was perfect. Sides of green salad, cauliflower (my favourite) beetroot etc also just what we wanted. Didn't need anything else and there was food over. Good drinks choice. All up a great dinner which is often what you want when travelling after fancier fare is beginning to lose it's appeal.

Delicious bbq food - great idea to get a mix of lots of plates to share on the table. Tender, juicy meats and cocktails that match. Service was attentive and prompt.

Food was nice and reasonably priced, and service was good. Was overcharged on the bill, but was contacted by management and it is being dealt with.

Been before, and have not been disappointed with the food and the rooftop bar is pretty neat (albeit a little expensive) - note though that the kitchen closes for ordering at 9.30pm, making the 11pm closing time a bit of a falsehood.

Food was good, mac & cheese amazing, beef rib a highlight, brisket a little dry. Service was mixed, woman who served us seemed a bit down and was not accommodating, ruined the vibe.

We happened along to Hank's. Let me tell you, we will be back! Great vibe, wide selection of drinks and the food is ahhhhhh-mazing!

After 30 mins waiting for our order, i asked one of the staff if we can get our food, she said 'i will check with your server' which she did. Our server came and said i forgot to process your order and have to take your order again'. Very disappointing, after asking 'how long you think it will take the food to be prepared' the server said 'less than what you waited' we decided to leave!
Not a great way to introduce your restaurant to a friend from overseas.

Meats were fantastic, the sides were also great to cut through all the meat. The gin sour cocktail though!

Soo delicious! Its a bit pricey for what it is, but the food is worth it. Been here twice now and both times it has not disappointed me:)

Very delicious. Loved the wings, the sausages and the cornbread. Went with a group of 6 and had the $50pp tasting menu. It was very good value for money but there was so much food wasteage, which I absolutely hate.

Was pretty delicious - brisket was amazing, sauces weren't quite as a good I felt. Very loud place, so if you're going with a big group it affect your ability to hear what others down the end of the table are saying.

Decided to come here on a whim and we are so glad we did. Service was great and staff were attentive and helpful. The food was the best we’ve had in Melbourne so far. We got the lamb, chicken wings (BBQ), cauliflower, milk rolls and potato salad and everything was delicious. Our favourite was the lamb, it was cooked to perfection and the sauce paired perfectly with it. My Shirley Temple was also great. Highly recommend!

Was really stoked with our night at fancy hanks. They were more than accommodating for a large group of 15+ guests and the catering was amazing. Something for everyone including vegetarians! Will be back. The drinks list is great too - again lots of variety while maintaining quality. A nice option in the cbd for smoked meats!

Great food and service, a bumpy start when they tried to sit us next to a large crowd of people, in an empty room. Will definatly be back.
