81Pathetic experience at this dealership. VAL, the blonde lady with the clear/nude round glasses was so rude, hostile and prejudiced. Her face literally dropped when she saw us coming her way, she didn't smile ONCE and her tone was condescending and hostile. She flat out said 'no' to us test driving some Golfs since we couldn't guarantee that we will buy the same day. What on earth is that about? Furthermore, she spoke to us as if we didn't know anything, when I had already done research and knew plenty. Val must have ASSUMED we were 2 broke, brown people looking to waste her time. When she finally went to organise a test drive, we got up and left the store. I was definitely open to buying a VW hence why I came to the dealership, but blatant prejudice is disgusting.
If you think that you can trust an official VW Dealership then think again. The sales team at Essendon Volkswagen really play up the used car salesperson persona - dodgy, avoidant, rude, and no care for their reputation.
Last year I bought a used Volkswagen Transporter through Adrian Vitolo, and on it's second day in my hands I started noticing issues (burning huge amounts of oil, engine overheating on short drives). He did everything he could to avoid repairing the major issues, including holding the van at the repair shop until right before the warranty period was up, claiming that he couldn't resolve issues after the warranty period ended. This dragged on for 9 months, with so many hours driving to and from their shop, plus many costs to me along the way.
Essendon Volkswagen have been nothing but bad news for me. If you decide to buy with them, make sure you know your rights under consumer law and hold them to it. A great deal on your dream vehicle at a genuine VW dealer may sound great, but I wouldn't wish my experience on anybody!

I purchased my car Essendon Volkswagen serviced my car under 3 year warranty. As soon as my 3 year warranty completed. My car had so many issues. I bought a LEMON. Customer service was so stressful to deal. Don’t recommend
Went to volkswagen essendon for my mk5 golf they removed my air bag light issue also done heaps of bits and pieces around the vehicle very cheap (full clean up) and was taken care of very very well! Was taken care of by Elbron from essendon volkswagen! A1 service!
Purchased my first car recently and the team at Essendon Volkswagen were incredibly helpful. Their really great quality service and care made the purchase move seamlessly with no issues at all.
Poor service and follow up. Charged $6 for a wash during a service and didn't even ask. Rude staff. Will not be buying new car from this business.
Attended this "AWARD WINNING DEALERSHIP"! Had the cam belt and brakes changed, spent $$$$ with them, got the car back thilfy. I was a first time customer there, WON'T be returning.
Friendly, fast and comfortable. I got the "express" service and it was just great. My last experience (at a different dealer) was awful so it was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be back. It also makes me likely to get my next car from them. I can't think of any way they could have made it a better experience. Very happy indeed.
Alden was really respectful and understanding of my needs when I purchased my car from them. For 2-3 weeks, my car buying experience was marred by sketchy second hand private buyers and hard sell dealerships. VW Essendon was a breath of fresh air and so was Alden. Wish I could give you more stars, thank you!
Went in today with Finance sorted, ready to buy a new T-Roc. After 15mins of wondering around outside and being passed by 3 or 4 staff members without even being greeted, we went inside. We stood there for a further 5mins, had a chat in front of the receptionist who was neither on the phone nor serving anyone - Still no greeting or acknowledgement. We even discussed the T-Cross that was parked in front of her. Nothing. And we weren't the only ones. Lots of staff in branded jackets or polo's walking very busily around and a lot of bewildered potential buyers. Zero service. We'll still be buying our T-Roc. But not from these people who are clearly to busy or badly trained to even say hello to customers.
Very helpful staff, who are happy to answer questions about the car when serviced. Received beautiful Passat as loan car (it even provides a back massage)
I’ve bought a second hand car Audi from their dealership. I’m very happy with the car but there were couple of scratches on the windscreen which I reported. They offered to replace it, then they cracked the windscreen on installation which I reported because they didn’t notice. So they offered to replace the windscreen again and I had to go multiple times over few weeks.
Wipers didn’t work well too so I had to report that one too and they said they have ‘fixed it’ but now the right wiper stops in the viewing area of the windscreen. Oh and they didn’t put any water in for wipers. And apparently they did in-house Roadworthy and the car has passed. Which makes me wonder!
These are not big issues, but their attention to detail and quality of service is appalling. They told me, didn’t you hear we sold the dealership to another company. I read that as they didn’t care about providing a top service.
Get your car serviced elsewhere - no loan vehicles, over priced and can’t diagnose simple issues
We booked in a test drive online two days prior and received an automated confirmation. No further follow up was received from the sales team to confirm. It’s not clear if this is a problem with online booking or something not followed up at the Essendon dealership. Figuring that we would still be seen, we drove in anyway and the person who greeted us was dismissive, saying that without follow up confirmation the drive wasn’t booked in and they were “very busy”. No apology for not confirming the booking or no real indication of how long it would take to be seen, so we just walked out in the end.
Thanks to the wonderful Service Team for fixing my son's VW Jetta. All staff were very helpful and wonderful to deal with. Nothing was a problem thanks to you all.

Filthy test cars & rude salespeople. They don’t sanitize cars in between uses so put people at risk of getting covid. Sales staff are rude as anything.
