Ecostar Double Glazing

These guys use hard selling tactics and wouldn't leave your house until you sign a contract. Avoid!

BEWARE! 2nd home now double glazed. This experience however, unlike the 1st was a huge costly time delayed mistake. $45K spent and treated appallingly but the inept management. Take my advice and shop elsewhere. Read the other poor reviews. Abandoned mid stream with no assistance. Pressurised sales, and zero communication then more pressure to spend even more with hidden costs after install.

Ecostar now threatening legal action against my personal opinion and experience with this company. Requesting I remove this review or else.
I’m posting this to warn others of my experience.

Sadly the overseas supply issues caused a long delay, but the product was worth the wait on this chilly Melbourne morning. The installers worked into the evening due mainly to issues with getting the old windows out and the job is fantastic. They even reinstalled the 4 metre high curtain track for us. Have only done the more problem half of the house, but thinking seriously of getting the rest done. Thanks Ecostar.

Don't buy from this company. Was interested in their sound proofing windows today at the Melbourne Home Show until I was told I couldn't have an appointment for a quote unless my husband was present. Apparently women are not allowed to make decisions on their own. Will spend my money elsewhere.

Has anyone seen the series white gold on Netflix? If you haven’t go watch it and you’ll get a really good understanding of what a two hour minimum quote from eco star is like while the sales lady was lovely, the lengthy presentation and ludicrous price quoted was not.

In our home, we sit we wait and we wait, we finally ring the company, oh we rang to let you know but couldn’t get in touch, oh said my husband what number did you call they quoted his mobile which is an iPhone quickly checked on missed calls no voicemail? Oh wEll we can come at 2.00 pm
I say NO a would you let people who treat you like this work in your home expert unprofessional extremely unreliable and not truthful!

7 months so far to get a French door made and put in place of an existing window, and still no idea when it might happen. I ordered it in August 2021 and I wish I had never dealt with this company, next time I'll only deal with a local company that manufacturers here in Australia and installs, I can't believe these people, poor communications and seldom responds to emails, disgraceful company. Please don't use this company.

WORST company I have ever dealt with! Waited 5 months for our doors and windows to be installed which cost tens of thousands of dollars. Upon install this was the quality of one of my doors! It should never have left the manufacturer. Their response, "they don't have quality control". Took 2 more months in order for them to come back and replace this ugly door. On top of that, on one of the doors the latch is super stiff and difficult to lock; they can't fix it. Absolutely pathetic! Their customer service was also disgusting as was the attitude of the installer that came in to repair the damaged door window. In case that wasn't enough, can't get fly screens and security doors installed on their UPVC and their sister company charges through the nose for it! Lesson - Choose a small local company! These guys are rip offs and offer terrible products and services. Do yourself a favor, choose someone else and save yourself time, money and stress! Lesson Learned!

As a potential customer you need to know that in order to get a free quote from Ecostar DG you will firstly talk to sale people (who are not involved in manufacturing nor installation process), then someone will call you to book an appointment, then the appointment will be confirmed again, and then someone (who is also not involved in manufacturing nor installation) will come to take the measurements. We had a former chef who came.

In order to get a free quote you and your partner (if you have any) will be required to listen compulsory 2-hour presentation how wonderful Ecostar DG is. Since we refused, as I have more than 25 years experience with double glazing, we did not get a quote. I am flabbergasted how Ecostar DG has managed to survive that long with so much bureaucracy and high inefficiency. I have my doubt Ecostar DG has competitive prices even with 20 or 25% discounts, as there are too many middle men and sales people involved.

We have been so happy from start to finish with Ecostar. We met them at the Melbourne home show. Jared came to the house and found out what we wanted and where. Nathan came out and did accurate measurements then our order arrived faster than we anticipated. Oli and the lads came out promptly and fitted the two houses in two days. They were amazing! And in above 30 degrees heat. The windows were installed professionally and look tremendous. Thanks ecostar.best money we've spent in awhile

Fantastic. Great service. Friendly. Some of the best workers I've ever seen. Seriously. Working hard in the heat. Absolutely brilliant. We had a mild problem with one of the window catchers and they came out straight away and fixed it and showed me how to fix it myself in the future if it ever happened again. We originally ordered 16 windows and doors from Jared in September 2019 before Covid. Then we ordered another two windows 6 or 12 months later. Installers professional. Magnificent. Friendly. Great people.

Booked the order 6 months ago…no communication received since and all webchat queries met with message stating’will get back to you’. And never do.
Called the operations team as suggested by sales rep who in turn are unable to give any updates. Disappointed as the sales spill was all about how efficient the company is…….

I had a quote years ago with no fuss. Have been on their emailing list for around 7 years asked for an updated quote to be told they wanted to talk to myself and my wife for 2 hours. 2 hours in PPE? Sighs

Awesome customer service and delivery from quote to installation - even during a pandemic. All to easy experience for something as big as replacing doors and windows!

Sales 101 Formula people! Husband & Wife needs to be at home so that Eco star gets an immediate yes/no answer, instead of " I will check with my other half excuse":)

All of us in the house are now happy that we have chosen professional company which respected their warranty obligations!

This great Earth friendly product replaced windows from Sept 1939!

House is noticeably warmer in winter and much more cooler in the extra hot 40+ degrees days.

No wind goes any more through the house and noice reduction is exceptional!
Ecostar designed doors are windwos have beautifyll design and makes the house so livable, secure and real warm home.

My wife & I have been very happy with Ecostar service from start to finish.

The sales rep was very knowledgeable & friendly. We all know & understand they are there to make a sale but he was never pushy, explained their products well, discussed the differences between Ecostar's products against their competitors. I had no idea what uPVC was initially and why metal/ aluminium double glazing still not ideal for window material. Now I do.

Other companies may sell products & get third party installer, which works for some people. But we much prefer the whole process & warranties handled by one company like Ecostar. Their technology, manufacturing process in UK & 40 years products warranty sounded amazing.

There was only one miscommunication with a technical aspect of our order & Ecostar explained to us the limitations with certain products and colour schemes (which varies from Australia vs UK markets).

The install process was always going to be chaotic, but the Ecostar install team has completed our 4-days-job with our young family of 4 as smoothly as possible.

We'll definitely use Ecostar again should we need more double glazing windows or doors. And won't hesitate to recommend them to any potential customers.

We live in a block of 2 storey townhouses and we got our entire house done including the front and back doors. We felt the difference overnight after they were installed. They looked better than expected. The installers arrived on time and no time was wasted, all done in just over 2 days. The house feels brand new. The product itself was expensive but so well worth it, now we know! All the existing rubbish was collected and cleaned up superbly. No paint damage at all!
Since we are covered by strata we could not have them in white but had to follow the colour scheme which we didn't realize (first time home owners) neither did anyone from EcoStar mention it to us. Our committee brought to our attention but was too late the order was placed. EcoStar tried to explore options to have the product painted/wrapped in the colour scheme but had no success, at the end most of the public facing frames had to be reordered in the colour scheme with additional cost. Would have saved us a lot of money and grief if it was mentioned to us, they now have a process in place to bring this sort of details to owners attention at the start (before signing contract). Writing this here so you do your due diligence.
Pandemic and re-order set us back many months but cannot complain about how beautiful the product is and workmanship of the installation team (Ollie and Reece), you guys were simply amazing! Also ensured my cat didn't run out! Shout out to James (Sales), Garreth (Surveyor), Rob (Operations Manager). The windows and doors are great, the team who fitted them were excellent, they kept me informed throughout the install and patiently answered my many questions. Everything done to a very high standard. I would recommend Ecostar Double Glazing.

Love my new windows. Great service from start to finish. Made such a differance to keeping our old house warmer and keeping street noise out. Initially, my husband was a bit skeptical, but he is now a fan. And we were still able to have the lead light copied to match my old windows. Which no other company was prepared to do.
