DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Melbourne - Flinders Street reviews
80Overpriced for the room size. Had wrong welcome card in the room addressed to someone else. Windows over looking Flinders Street was so muddy and dirty. Waste of money. Was watching the new year fireworks through almost dirt covered window glass. Staff service was awesome hence giving 3 star otherwise 0 star.
Having stayed three times in a month this hotel has gone the extra mile to make my journey special.
Melbourne’s secret little gem. You couldn't get closer to everything in the CBD than this place and at a great price. Great service, clean and neat. Room was modern, shower pressure great and air con spot on plus pillows and bed comfy. Late check out made it even better!
Amazing! We are currently staying here and cannot fault anything. From the moment we checked in everything has been perfect. Check in was smooth and the hotel manager was so lovely to find us a great room. The service here is beyond our expectations. They are so quick to respond to any request. The hotel is well located and close to everything. The rooms are comfortable and great value. Great dining at your doorstep. Would definitely recommend staying here and it is our go to for our next Melbourne trip.
Great hotel in a central location of Melbourne CBD. Easy to check in with a 12pm check out and can’t forgot the amazing cookies. Happy (3hours) hour between 5pm-8pm. This hotel covers all your needs
Rooms are nothing special but serve a purpose and are always clean, tidy and presented well. Service at the counter is always good. Location is perfect and easy to get to most things in Melbourne. I stay regularly (once month) and always have a good experience.
Great location specially if you in melbourne to watch the aus open. 1 min wlak to the tram station bringing you to the stadium. Breakfast is solid.rooms are ok.not alot of ammeneties but all good.
Staying at the Hilton was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious. The location was excellent and the staff were incredibly friendly
Checked in DoubleTree Hilton, Flinders Street Melbourne last week. I message the hotel a few days earlier to let them know I would like an early checkin subject to availability and they responsed to state that it wil Depend on room availability. I did arrive around 1115 am and was told unfortunately my room was not available but I would be allowed to leave my jug gage at the concierge and they will contact me on my mobile once the room was ready. True enough they contacted me around quarter past midday while I was out nearby at Queen Victoria Market (free tram ride in CBD)
As usual we got presented the warm welcome doubletree Hilton cookie!
Was also pleased to be given a free upgrade to the highest 14th floor with city view of MCG and Rod Lever Arena (as Hilton honors diamond member) and complimentary continental breakfast. The breakfast was superb (some pics below)
Front desk Madyson and Front Office Manager Ray was super friendly and very helpful. Explained and communicated very well and Madyson even loaned us an umbrella as we were heading out in the afternoon in case it rained
Also lovely gym on the first floor overlooking the Flinder Street Train Station. Superb location with lots of eateries & Supermarkets nearby and free tram and Southern Cross station (Skybus to Melbourne airport) nearby. Chinatown and famous Lune crossiants nearby.
A great stay overall and highly recommended.
Me and my partner enjoyed our stay here.
Didn't expect the lobby to be a bar/ restruant but it was a nice change
The room was comfy and a great location for a weekend away
I am very disappointed with this Hotel, I left the room at 8: 00 am and came back at 15: 00 pm and the room was still not tidy. I was super tired my plan was to relax but I got super annoyed.
I never intend to return to this Hotel again!
Now everything people blame Covid even a simple cleaning
Hmmm. Cookie at check in nice touch cancelled out by no tea bags etc.in room.
No Fox footy in a Melbourne hotel surely not. Rang room service housecleaning concierge and front desk for no response from any. Overall good.
Great location for exploring South Bank, Federation Square as well as walking distance to Botanical Gardens or Fitzroy Gardens. So many restaurants within 5-8 minute walk, too.
The rooms are tiny, you don't feel welcomed, I'm a gold member, and still I think they don't know how to serve customers, the breakfast quality is not good either, when asked about the points for the stay, they had no clue
This review is just for the restaurant.
The atmosphere and food is great!
The service was not very good, apparently they inly had one chief when were there and it took 1h 10 min to just bring our entrées! We didnt order main as you can imagine how long does it take for main!
Hope they can hire another chief!
Unfortunately this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had and as such would recommend using an alternative accommodation. Mattresses are excessively hard, TV doesn't work and for some reason turns on at random times during the night.
Alarm clocks I can only assume are not checked by staff prior to arrival and go off late at night. The problems are only made worse by the excessive noise coming from the outside and the drunk people running up and down the halls.
Great stay, beautiful room and amenities and lovely staff.
One weird thing is that the lobby shares its entry with its restaurant (which has its own signage), so I thought I may have been in the wrong place, as the bar is also the reception.
The air-conditioning can be a bit slow to get going when you're feeling hot, but I feel that's fairly standard with ducted air conditioning in hotel stays.
The fit out of the room and bathroom is really nice and the 5 star rating is particularly deserved because of the staff.
Torrens was very accommodating and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. I also got a cookie when I checked in, so if that's not reason enough to stay here, I don't know what will be.
Very good location right across station and starbuck ️
Good morning brekky
Room is very clean and good size
We chose the flinders central station/river facing room and the view was simply beautiful. Even though it was next to the road, it wasn't too noisy. The hotel is located in the heart of CBD so we could walk everywhere easily. The daily breakfast was adequate but nothing stunning. It would have been ideal if the breakfast menu could change a little daily as we ate the same thing for all 3 days. The check in and check out process was a breeze.
What a beautiful stay
We came into the city for our anniversary, and stayed here (room 1313, to be precise) and from the very first moment we felt welcome and valued.
On check in, we were surprised with a warm cookie each, then she gave us a bag of chocolates to celebrate with!
The room was spotless (even the walls were dust free), the bed was comfortable, the tv and amenities worked perfectly and the shower water pressure was fantastic.
The best part tho, was the duty manager (this was on Saturday 26th Feb, at about 4pm, I think his name was Hayden, but I might be wrong). I asked for concierge service, and he stepped up like an absolute champ.
I asked about cocktail Bars, and he planned an entire itinerary for us.
We had the most wonderful night, and this place should be proud of the service they provide
