DC Dumpling reviews
82 Wonderful family run late night dumpling house with great rustic handmade dumpling selection complemented with well portioned rice and noodle dishes.
Hands down best black bean beef on rice I've ever had; no tough chewy meat, no soggy veggies, and no runny sauce.
Wonderful service, I only wish there were more restaurants like this.
Only thing I would like to ask for is music/ambience.
We had chicken prawn dumplings and fried chicken drum sticks. The food was good (it was simple not many spices added) and the gave us extra sauce and spring rolls. Even though only two of the staff was working in front, it was great and well managed service.
I love coming here. The staff treat me well and food is generally well priced and delicious. Even if I stop in for take away I'm given complimentary tea. Definately go for good food and service.
Poor! Horrible taste! Ordered a Kung Pao chicken. Was basically chicken in chilli oil. No vegetables and no nuts.
Charge $20 for that!? Disgrace. Friend ordered stir fry chilli beef. Their ubereats picture show lots of vegetables in that particular dish. None in the one we received.
Thrown in bin. Never again. Avoid.
Poor form.
Each time we have ordered from David and Camy’s, the food is always spot on. The service is fast and they are so friendly and easy to deal with. You can’t go wrong with David and Camy’s.
Great for families! Our toddler enjoys the food - not spicy, for those who still want to enjoy dumplings, rice and noodle dishes with a fussy toddler. We will keep coming back ️
Delicious food. Everything we ordered was cooked as it's supposed to taste, pretty authentic.
The dumplings are a must try!
Our favourite dumpling place for last 10 years! Although we have noticed a down hill of taste and quality of the dumplings, maybe due to the main chef not being there to supervise?
Even in the weird COVID world, DC Dumpling is amazing! Fantastic food as per usual (I'm a regular) and some of the best Xiao Long Bao around. Would highly recommend.
Been coming here for what feels like a decade. Best dumplings in Melbourne. We have always made the drive no matter where we have lived!
Ordered last year and got the wrong order. Thought we would give them another chance tonight. Big mistake. Food took two hours, we got the wrong order again, it was gross and went straight in the bin. Avoid.
Popped in to order some takeaway. Was told 10 mins but ended up having to wait 30 mins for very very VERY average dumplings that were soggy
Dry "old" spring onion cakes, and dumplings with no soy included for takeaway.served with a side of surliness. Wouldn't bother with these guys again. Plenty of other options in box hill.
The dumplings were terrible! It was doughy and rubbery. And when I rejected the dish, I was told that I should have ordered "boiled" as opposed to "steamed" dumplings. Quite apart from the fact that the waitress only presented with the option of either having our dumplings fried or steamed, I'm Asian and know exactly what good "steamed" dumplings taste /look like. So, nothing specialist about this establishment. Also we ordered "fried squids with spicy sauce" and the dish came without any sauce! Again when this was brought to the attention of the waitress, we were told, the chef had put in some cut chillies in the dish! Excuse me? ! Well, all in all I'll won't bother about this restaurant. P/s the restaurant agreed to waive the charges on the rejected dumplings.
Friendly staff, quick food, great range, well priced, what more like you ask for, perfect for take out or eat in
Dumplings are ok. ‘Specials menu’ was not very special. Quick service. Reasonable price, friendly service.
Noodles not seasoned enough.
Spicy food not very spicy,
Calamari was oily.
Over time we have eaten in and also had take away from here and would have recommended this place to anyone. I am not sure what has happened over the past few months but I can no longer recommend eating here.
Here is why;
- Devoid of taste.
- not freshly made.
- a takeaway rice only 2/3 full while costing a $$$ prices
We will not be going back ever as there is so many better options around area.
Good food, inexpensive. Good service. Lost count at the number of times we've been here. Had Easter lunch today and will be back many more.
Small store but great food and not too hard to get a table.
Ordered the xiao long bao and some fried dumplings and everything was great.
DC Dumplings do steamed dumplings very well. I'm yet to try anything boiled from the menu.
The taste of the dumpling is okay.the staff are friendly and helpful.this can be an alternative restaurant to dine in if you are in Box Hill.
Delicious dumplings & noodles. I highly recommend the steamed prawn dumplings. The spicy noodle dishes are also excellent, packed full of flavour! We've been going there for a few years & the service is always good & food comes very quickly. Try them!
