DC Dumpling reviews
82Not a pleasant experience. The food (Tony’s spicy noodles and Singapore noodles) was too salty and oily. Steamed dumplings were so thick and hard.
Dumplings are fantastic but their late night delivery orders are hit and miss, they didn't give any chilli oil or soy sauce
It was very average, definitely not deserving of
the high rating it has on here.
-The beef dumpling skin was not fresh, athought
the filling was delicious.
- The prawn dumplings were fresh, but they were
lacking in flavour.
-The Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce was good
I am surprised this mediocre restruant has such
high reviews on here
The best dumplings and so much more.
Terrific value for money.
If you are a Box Hill diner and you haven't been to DC Dumpling then you should do yourself a favour and try it out.you won't be disappointed, Uncle Albert and his wife operate the best Dumping restaurant in Town.
Ordered quite late tonight some vegetarian dumplings, Singapore noodles and a shanghai noodles and they were great! The dumplings have the perfect texture, the filling was prime! Pretty happy with the experience thank you!
I would give (-1000) if I could. The food we ordered, the container was broken, the other one smelled like off milk. They charged $55 but they gave us a receipt of $41. The worst experience I have ever had.
Ordered online with them and turns out someone else from the same building ordered same time. Their order was significantly smaller and they mistakenly put our order docket on theirs and vice versa. Called them and was told "not our problem, take it up with the app" wasn't the apps fault. Very poor response on their part and no responsibility taken for their mistake.
Salty fish and chicken fried rice should have at least some sort of salty fish, I found 8 tiny slivers, rice too oily, should not have peas!
Wonton noodles the egg noodles is too thick and over cooked which became mushy.
The prawn and pork wonton has no prawn and the meat taste off, wonton skin is soggy which indicates it’s cooked from frozen wonton and should have add cold water in the process of cooking the frozen wonton to keep the texture of the skin.
The tea is just tasteless. The best tasting thing is the soft drink that came in a bottle.
This place used to have the best chicken bread crumbs on fried rice w their special sauce. The previous owners with the lady and her son were amazing, but the new owner is terrible. The bald owner is so rude when we asked to put the sauce separately for the takeaway which they used to do. The food is still good but his poor attitude is enough to ruin the experience.
Service is friendly, but the food here is not amazing unfortunately.
Ordered the pan fried pork dumplings, buns, dim aims and xiao long bao.
Very average, no burst of juice in the dumpling (which is a clear indication of a quality dumpling). Neither in the fried bun.
The dimsim was very tasty however, and the xiao long bao had a lot of juice in it.
Seems the Steamed food here is better than the fried, but it shouldn't be either way or the other. Should be good across all the menu.
Not great, but not bad. Solid 3 stars from me.
If I could give it a 0 I would. Everything we ordered was horrible. Please don't get the hainan chicken. It tasted so bad we couldn't even eat any of the rice. The spring onion pancake was just burnt and over fried. The pancake tastes like a cracker.
I ordered off door dash. I ordered vegetarian singapore noodles and vegetarian dumplings. The noodles had at least 4 different types of meat. The dumplings were pudgey and tasteless. Both made me feel sick the next day. Would NOT recommend.
I’ve eaten all over the world (from dodgy bus stops in India to multi-hat restaurants in Europe) and for the first time in living memory I have not been able to complete a meal…and I was starving! My two daughters, who have both eaten all over Asia, similarly unable to do more than pick at the food. Astonishingly bland and borderline service. This is what you would serve if you were deliberately trying to deter someone from returning to your restaurant. Had to head immediately to Meet Fresh in order to try and erase the memory. One star for quantity.
Come down to Box Hill and try the iconic pan fried dumplings from DC.
Get the Dan Dan noodles. No regrats
DC broke my heart tonight. I’ve never had anything negative to say about them… tonight though what we received in our pick up take away order was not up to their usual standards. DC- did you put SPAM in our special deluxe fried rice? Or was it devon? It doesn’t matter which- neither belong in a deluxe fried rice! And the rice was lacking it’s usual flavour unfortunately. There was also a miss communication with the order unfortunately; mistakes are made so I can get over that. But the dumplings really did lack the usual flavour. This could be the end of a long friendship….
The name of the restaurant means China, Hong Kong and Taiwan food. This is really an ambitious name since most Chinese restaurants will only focus on food from one or several regions of China. But the food is by no means similar to the flavour of any part of China. The dumplings are super market quality. The pork is reheated before serving and full of salt on it. Noodles are overcooked and served with too much oil. We just wanna have a late supper, but ended up going to McDonald after having food here.
Fantastic pan fried dumplings, lovely Mandarin shredded beef and very attentive service. Great to see it back to what it was
Five stars for their willingness to take on a group of 25 at very short notice. The tables well well set up and prepared, service was excellent with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The meals were large portioned and piping hot from the kitchen and very moderately priced.
A very enjoyable dining experience for our group.
I will most certainly dine there again!
Great little Chinese joint, a bit different to your typical Chinese dumplings places. The secret to this place is to get the braised pork belly in rice though.
You know i dont expect much from a beef and black bean sauce, but I do expect there to be black beans in it. Instead lots off noodles a little bit of meat and bean sprouts all in a oily orange sauce that didn't really taste like anything even with soy sauce added. Place is a joke don't bother!
