Probably the best fish & chips anywhere. We loved our potato cakes & chip so crunchy. I had grilled salmon & it was delicious. This is a very busy shop much busier than the other fish & chip shops so you would expect a wait right, no they pump out the food. The service is always great, lots of characters with huge personalities who make the customers laugh. Definitely a must when in Rye. Well done guys.

Being a beach suburb, you would expect Rye to have a decent fish and chip. In fact, there are four in the suburb. Yes, four. Prossers is far and away the best. The fish here is wonderfully fresh, beautifully cooked, and supremely flavoursome. The chips are crisp and delicious, and the serve the legendary South Melbourne dim sims. I see some of the reviews with low ratings complaining about the service. I've never had an issue in the many times I've visited. Service has always been friendly and helpful. If you want excellent fish and chips, this is the place to go in Rye.

Best fish & chips. The fish is fresh & yum. The chips are tasty & the potato cakes are huge. We also orders 10 fish burgers & wow wow wow. So tasty, so much topping & sauce. I don’t ever write reviews, but I looked these guys up after eating & read that load of rubbish by Point Dexter. We also had loads of chicken salt& our dim sims had soy. Also the staff are really nice.

Worst fish and chips we’ve had in ages. No salt on chips (after ordering extra chicken salt). Fish burgers consisted of just a small price of fish in a big bun with almost no salad or toppings. The Dim Sims didn’t have any soya sauce either. Total fail. Never coming back.

Unfortunately I can’t review the food. Went by at lunchtime and the fresh seafood in the window looked lovely. Ordered by phone that evening (yes, we accidentally ordered from the Mornington branch rather than Rye) so completely our mistake but when I went to pick up the seafood, I was affronted by the rudest, most arrogant young staff I’ve ever met. The young lady serving me called the Mornington branch who confirmed I’d incorrectly ordered and the other young lady in charge demanded she call them back and tell the person who answered the phone in Mornington that she’d stuffed up and needed to name the branch when she answered. Through the whole saga I was waiting, as were a number of other people, and it was so incredibly unprofessional. I was then told that my order was at the Mornington branch and when I apologised and said I couldn’t drive to pick it up in Mornington and could I reorder? , I was told by, what appeared to be the manager, that “oh yeah, I love to throw money down the drain”. It was very aggressive, confronting and upsetting. I walked to the other fish shop a couple of doors down and they were fantastic, they had plenty of stock and were good to deal with. As I was waiting, many others came into the other fish and chip shop (“The Shark Shack”) because David Prosser’s had “run out” of food. Their fresh seafood counter was completely empty. This was Sat 22nd of Dec and Rye was not even busy yet! Very disappointing.

Such a good fish and chip shop. I personally only tried the potatoe fritters and those chips but the chips were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Paid $5 for a medium chips which I feel was great value for money in this day and age of fish and chip shops. (A medium chips would feed three adults)
Fast and easy service by the staff I'd definitely go there again.

Really nice staff and food has been great. I've tried the fish, calamari and oysters. Their batter is crispy and seafood fresh. The calamari was a little over salted the first time, but perfect the following week. Highly recommend.
