67WOW! The best fish n chips I’ve had for years - the chips were next level tasty, crispy & soft inside. Lovely grilled flake. Highly highly recommend!
I ordered extra-extra crispy chips. I've stressed this three times. Guess what? ! Soft! Not only that. When I returned the chips, they just separated the chips from the fish and attempted to re-cook. My children already throw out two hand full of the chips!
The freshest and tastiest prawn cutlets imaginable and amongst the yummiest fish & chips in all Eastern Victoria. We're always happy to take a 40 minute drive and pass over 20 others just for their tucker.
Used to be really awesome when I came here about a month or two ago! The chips and everything were perfect! Today we opened our fish and chips and instantly I could see it was different this time! And from what I know the shop said under new management? The chips were bright yellow and many black ones were in the packet, obviously old stock. Sad cause I used to love this place but obviously since management has changed so has the food
Great fish and chips - as locals, we know that these guys are consistently good.
However, it’s so hard to place a phone order as it takes many attempts to get through. Wait times also blow out in busy times.
We had the flake and Grenadier fish and the batter was lovely and crisp and the fish beautifully fresh. No complaints regarding the chips in terms of flavour but wondering why the chips were so yellow. Prawns were huge.instead of butcher paper they used paper bags. I like that because you can keep the heat in and the sea gulls out when you are eating this by the beach with a bit of a breeze blowing
Dim sims were good. Sad to say the flake and chips were not. Chips very dry. Flake batter was crunchy but the batter was just soaked with oil. All we can taste is oil.fingers greasy from holding flake. Sorry not good
Disappointing! 10 minute wait turned into 50 for cold undercooked chips, and new customers still being told the same waiting time with line out the door
Waited 50 minutes for the most disappointing meal! Fish wasn’t trimmed and over salted, potato cakes undercooked.
The fish is always fresh, my only complaint would be, they need to remember the lemon wedges and add more salt. This is usually our friday night takeout, then we go straight across the road to eat at the beach
One word, GREASY.
Has changed hands but still trading under David Prosser, won't be going there again.
A dozen Coffin Bay oysters for $20.90 and they were fresh and utterly delicious - such a clean shop with lovely service to boot! I'm inspired to come back for their fish and chips.
Well priced and made to order. I love how you can pick you own fresh fish and they cook it for you. The 'small chips" are definitely enough for two. Love this place.
Beautifully cooked and delicous, fresh flake. Potato cakes lovely. The scallops and fish could be a bit bigger. Friendly staff and a nice clean shop. Quality:). Thank you!
Fish was amazing! Fresh and chunky, it’s coated in a unique thin and crispy batter - just melts in your mouth. Heavenly warm and fuzzy feeling munching on this & hot chips after an icy walk on Rye pier.
Rang on a Sunday evening during lockdown at 6pm. Was told by the young man that they had “JUST run out of EVERYTHING” including chips? How can this be an hour and a half before closing time? Went to a fish and chip shop down the road instead who had plenty of everything! Disappointed and won’t be returning.
It was a fairly quiet night on this strip and we thought we'd try this Fish n Chippery for a quick meal. The grilled flake was rather ordinary but the potato cakes, chips and calamari were lovely and the calamari was really fresh. We were the only customers but I can imagine this place would normally be really busy, especially during summer holidays and long weekends. The service was nice and friendly.
Food was average, better off going a few doors down for quality and taste. Fish and chip shop acting like they are fine dining. Asked for a pack for 2 but if we could swap out the 2 prawns for 2 dim sim due to allergies and the young girl with attitude says no even though the prices are the same.
Always the best quality fresh seafood with friendly service. Really enjoyed our fish & chips tonight. These guys are super busy especially on holidays & long weekend a & never get it wrong. As locals we love this place & the high quality food they always produce. The quality is always high
The fried flake was beautifully cooked -super moist inside and crunchy batter on the outside. The chips and potato cakes were also great. This was our first visit. We will certainly be back. Thank you.
