On the positives, they have wonderfully helpful and professional staff. They also have the great quality you see in every David Jones store. However, the selections are limited esp for clothing and the staff are quite busy - so budget (significant) extra time if you want advice or help finding something.

Wow! I'm not exactly sure what hiring process DJ's have and the way in which they train their staff, but not only are these "representatives" a waste of space, but they're appallingly rude, entitled and just generally unhappy individuals. The lady "in charge" of click and collect particularly was the icing on the cake for my experience at this store. In what right mind does she think it's okay to speak down to, interrogate and be dismissive of a customer. What happened to professionalism? Customer satisfaction? Speaking to someone like a respectable human being? Let alone a smile? The staff seem to go out of their way to create an unpleasant experience for customers spending their hard earned money at this store. No wonder stores are losing business and closing.

Staff tried hard but some perfumes out of stock. Lady with the keys to the perfume cabinet on break with keys also on break. Never mind we got there in the end.

Customer service is shocking! Staff have 0 social skills and respect for others. Many friends and family have had disgusting experiences here. Avoid and don't waste your time.

Yes some items are overpriced and yes it can be difficult to find staff but David Jones is a great department store to browse and buy cosmetics, clothes homewares etc, particularly when you are filling in time before the movies. Note regarding staff, one time I was at Clinque counter with product in hand and of course there was no-one around. I literally walked around entire cosmetics area SHOUTING hello, hello and in the end I went to the bag area to get help. Another person may have been tempted to just walk out. This is a regular occurrence but doesn't stop me returning!

I love this place especially their sales, life long memoires keeps me shopping as my first stop to anywhere else. And staff going the extra mile for service makes the experience more enjoyable.

Hard to find anyone to assist you and when you finally do, they can't be bothered making any sort of effort (like it's not what they get paid for).
I've had one positive experience with a very helpful staff member in women's sleepware (Thank you) but that's about it.
They don't stock the full range of products either unfortunately so best to check first if you have something specific in mind.

A good range of mens, women's and children's clothes, appliances, homewares and bedding. Not as large as chadstone DJs, and no audiovisual section. Toilets instore are cleaner than most in southland but still pretty primitive, (ie.cramped space, no paper towel, exit doors with handles)

Good place if you want to feel like the only person in the store to do your shopping in peace and quiet (no blaring loud music and rarely see staff close by). Would only shop here during sales.

As per David Jones, items not on sale are overpriced, did get some bargains for the granddaughter.

This is a wonderful place to shop especially in sale season. Great specials and great brands. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My only concern is sometimes it can be hard to dine a staff member to assist you but when you do the are fully attentive to your needs.

Nice staff but David Jones needs an update. Redo the entire store and get the brand going again, the style of all the signs, old glass cabinets, tables and etc.you can easily make the brand boom if you focus on customer experiences in store. Other than that fine, I made a purchase and the experience was above average.

It's a small David Jones so not that many brands are here compares with the David Jones stores in Chadstone/Melbourne City. But good enough since it's inside the sc.

What a disgraceful experience I have just had with the manager of the Chanel fragrance department. I purchased a bottle of my favourite (and very expensive perfume) and even took in my old bottle to make sure I got the right one. Upon opening, I found to my dismay the WRONG bottle of $205 perfume. I rang the store, spoke to the manager who told me in the rudest way possible-that they would take no fault for giving me the wrong bottle, would not exchange, would not refund, in fact, would NOT talk any longer as "she was unable to help me over the phone". She also suggested I come in to the store, BUY another bottle, and she would give me a free sample of something. NO apologies. NO interest in helping solve the problem. NO customer satisfaction and it was not important to her. I then went over to the Chadstone store (NOT their responsibility or fault) and what a different experience! Not only did they profusely apologise, they acted. They changed the bottle over the right perfume, gave me numerous free samples and told me that I had "made THEIR day" seeing me leave so happy. What wonderful staff they have.

Good service prompt attention. Guided to find pillow tried out with pillowslip given. Suited my husband so we paid. Then found out on sale Better still. Very happy with service and product
