71 I'm not sure what the sales consultant's name is, but I had the best service in a long time from her in the shoe department. Very helpful, happy and to me looked like she enjoyed her job. I brought a pair of Carvela shoes, she answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable regarding the brand.
Thank you to her for making my experience at DJs great. Next time I need a pair of shoes, I hope she is working.
Recent purchase at David Jones Southland I’ve noticed staff are very opinionated and judgmental towards myself and other customers. Especially the at men’s department two older female staff members either pull up on your service or should retire because attitude that you both have won’t suite anywhere else honestly.

Terrible online shopping experience. Lost hundreds of dollars worth of stuff and no action from them after half a year. Avoid and use someone better.

If you needed an example of the struggles faced by traditional retail, and specifically department stores, then DJs Southland is it. A few years ago this was a thriving store offering a huge range of items across clothing, furniture, electrical, home entertainment, nursery and toys. It had an excellent cafe too. Sadly the store is now a shadow of it's former self. Toys, nursery, whitegoods, most of the furniture, and home entertainment are all gone. So is the cafe - which was always full. Huge areas of the store are empty and blocked off from view. Shelves are half stocked. Parts of the store appear tired and dark - level 3 in particular. Even the supposedly profitable cosmetics area looks sad. The whole place is in desperate need of an update. Only the men's and women's fashion areas are well stocked and staffed. I've only ever encountered friendly service here, but if this store is still open in 18 months I'll be amazed.
I feel that these types of stores today are a dying breed.
Often hard to get any service, seem a bit over priced.
In desperate need of an update, felt very neglected and stuck in the 90s. Poorly staffed and the layout was confusing. Also seems they needed to update quite a few of the pricing labels as twice the listed price was different when I went to the till.
Granted they are smaller than other DJ stores but I found they have a great selection of last size dresses on very reasonable discount.
Annette, the manager from Veronica Maine was amazing showing me around the whole floor not just her area, and helping me and others with such professionalism and finesse.
I found an amazing sequin number for a steal.
I found the staff helpful and professional. My usual DJs are Doncaster and Chadstone and my experience impressed me so much I thought, “They don’t have an Annette at Doncaster or Chadstone”.
It actually was a magical experience and worth writing about.

Had the best service yesterday, a friend was purchasing a dooner cover set, which unfortunately was the very last one, and it was on display, Dominic then stepped in and sorted everything out for us, he is such a credit to Dave Jones. We will be back.
Don’t bother asking them to put something on hold for you, they will just sell it to someone else!

Not very happy with your non existent stock of vases. I asked the assistant where are the crystal or Villaroy vases were, her reply was, we don’t stock any and not interested in helping me with anything else to at least make a sale!
Years ago l bought many from there for presents, now they don’t stock vases?

This is a really run down store with staff who don’t care. I’m always disappointed when I visit the store. What annoys me the most is how rude the staff are… when you can find them!
Not many staff to help you I waited 10 minutes to complete an exchange dealt with 3 members of staff and taken to 3 different registers, this store is so outdated
Terrible service at David Jones Southland. Plenty of staff around but none of which are willing to help.
Waited at a counter for over 30mins and was told by 3 seperate staff members to “just wait”. Good one guys!
Very disappointing, no staff or customer service offered! Left without purchasing anything and won't be in a hurry to return. Shame DJ'S used to be better than that.

Hard to see the reason for this store, shopping centre has Myer as well both look the same, Myer seems to have better variety and prices, otherwise a clean and well set out store
I have been shopping at DJ for many years, and was and still is setesfaid with the store but in last couple of years it went down, less stuff and less products. On weekend's is like you could be standing and waiting for long time until you see any of the stuff is nothing to do with the stuff as they can't be at the 5 places at the same time is to do with the management cutting costs and lacking on the service, Is are shame
Worst customer service.
Especially in the clothes department where all the kids champion clothes are etc. There was a young girl who basically ignored everyone and didnt want to ask if help was needed.
When we approach her she gave us a bland stare and couldn't help.
