Beautiful view from the room and close walk to various shops within the CBD. Unfortunately are tv in the room did not work. Staff tried to fix the problem without being successful. We were told that front reception would contact to discuss what they could do. This did not occur and no compensation was offered. When this was discussed at the checkout there was an apology but still no compensation for a whole stay without a working tv! When prompted by us for some sort of discount the receptionist then offered two free coffees. We had already had breakfast as part of our stay but as this was the only offer my partner accepted a coffee. Unfortunately this ruined our stay as we couldn’t unwind in the evening and watch tv together.

Beautiful hotel close to everything. Love the refurbishment and a couple of minor hiccups in my room were fixed quickly. Super comfortable bed and pillows

Very misleading with their room advertisement "Superior Riverview Room" our 2 rooms were looking at more rooftop than River.

The restaurants are pricey but that's expected at a place like this.
Try and check in a little after 3pm as we experienced a massive line.
The rooms are very small but they were nice, although they were a bit different from the pictures.
Extremely convenient location.
Friendly staff.

TL;DR - Hotel couldn't handle public holiday visitors and completely overlooked us throughout our stay

Okay where to start.

Our stay was for a Sunday night (long weekend public holiday) so I thought I would call a couple of days prior to confirm a couple of details as my booking confirmation said 3pm check in but the hotel website said 2pm. They confirmed over the phone to me that 2pm would be fine and worst case we would have to wait 15 mins or so. Ended up getting there at 2.15 and the room wasn't ready, said they would prioritise it being ready and call us to let us know when we could grab the keys. Over 1 hour later and I had to follow up myself to find out the room was ready and they had just not bothered to let us know. Admittedly because it was a public holiday there was a big amount of people checking in with long lines so can give them the benefit of the doubt there as a lot was going on (other guests were still waiting at 6 for their rooms to be ready!)

The other thing that was confirmed for our booking the couple of days prior was that it was my partner and I's anniversary that night and the hotel already had notes down from their end and they said they would make sure they would do something nice for us. Once we got up to the room, nothing was there. Not even robes or slippers for the bath or anything in the minibar fridge. Not even an offer for free breakfast or drink cards which were offered to other guests who had the misfortune of also having to wait to check in. I brought this up a few hours later once the madness of check-in had died down at reception and they made sure there would be something waiting for us in our room once we came back from our dinner, as well as robes/slippers and a couple of minibar items (complimentary). We get back, there's a cheap 200ml bottle of wine, but no robes/slippers or the minibar items. Really made us feel welcomed.and having to ring up again to enquire made us feel like a burden. At this point they did bring up a bottle of champagne along with a fruit platter and the other items we requested but it was almost 10pm at this point.

Positives - the room itself was very lovely and had an amazing view across the river from the top floor. Almost unrivalled in the city. The bath was lovely and the bed was very comfy. Pillows not so much but you can't win them all.

Upon checkout we made a small comment about our poor experience as they were trying to rush checkout due to the long line of people, they advised they would add notes to my profile and ensure we would be well looked after on our next visit. Considering the "notes" they confirmed on my profile days before checking in were not visible apparently to the staff on the day I have no faith this would be followed next time so unfortunately they won't have the opportunity to do so.

My wife and i had our wedding anniversary here. We had our room upgraded free of charge and had a bottle of sparkling with a happy anniversary letter waiting for us in the room.
View of the yarra river and skyline was amazing the best view in melbourne. Staff were friendly. Will definitely be going back highly recommend.

Bought the cheapest, smallest room for quick overnight stay, yet it was a marvel of cute practicality. Staff friendly and helpful. A brilliant stay.

Great location, they upgraded our room to a river view. Comfortable king bed. Room cleaned to a high standard. We were very impressed that there was no road noise from our room.

This is an awful place to stay. Was harassed by the staff for coming in after 10 pm and turning the tv on. They sent the security guard to our room, DO NOT STAY HERE. Unless you want everyone to hear everything, Motel melbourne is not the move. @zero stars

Beautiful Stay at Crown Plaza Unfortunately a 30 Minute wait in Check in time, one line moves faster then the other!
Level 9 Room 945 Needs a GOOD window clean!

Great rooms, recently renovated with very friendly check in staff. Perfect location to the casino and restaurants nearby. Nice views!

The checkin process is ridiculous. I waited in line for 40mins. They need to fix that problem.
Comfortable room nice and clean. However we stayed in a room with 2 double beds and had booked 4 adults in. We had 2 towels in the bathroom which we thought that's fine we will call room service for more towels. We ended up calling 3 times in a 2 hour period and no towel delivery. We ended up finding a housekeeping trolley and and got our own towels in the end.
Vallet parking is over priced especially when you have to take your own luggage out and load your own car.
I think its super convenient to hot spots and that's the only reason I'd stay again but there's no wow factor.

Nice hotel, I spent here my first week of my honey moon. The staff had been amazing and really friendly. It was close to all the main venues and touristic attractions in Melbourne. Really recommended.

Nice place to stay staff are very helpful buffet breakfast was fantastic great pool the location is perfect recommended highly also man mo Chinese restaurant at wtc wharf was a great meal

Staff were very friendly, check in and check out was very smooth. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. We had a river view room, which gave us million dollar views. We are already planning our next stay

The bed is really comfy and the staffs are amazing. The hotel upgraded us to riverside but the windows are abit dirty however I did not really care. The most amazing thing is an honesty from the staffs. We left our money in the hotel room which we did not realise until we got to Alice Springs. I thought that we were not gonna get it back and really angry to my partner for forgetting money then we called the hotel and got our money back! Thanks everyone especially the house keeper who cleaned our room 827. We will stay there again!

Clean rooms and very well presented, great view along the river which was a great to highlight the sunset. Would come back again for sure, worth the trip! Thank you for making my birthday extra special with the room upgrade giving us said view!

Stayed here for a night on Saturday with the family. We arrived around 1.40pm. Advised check in is at 2. The lady then went on to say because we upgraded you for free the rooms not ready yet. I was offered complimentary drink cards. Was told to wait in the foyer area and will be approached when room was ready. From 1.40 - 2.30 around 20+ people where checking in and they all walked straight up to their rooms. I stood near reception area around 2.25 not one staff member even acknowledged me. I did not want to approach as I did not want people waiting to think I pushed in front of them. I finally caught the eye of the lady who served me as she was walking into the back room. She looks up at me and says “oh I’m not sure if it is ready will need to check”. A couple of minutes later she walks out and advises it is. Just hands me the cards with no explanation about nothing. It was about 2.40 at the point, no apology nothing! I had to ask how to get to the room. Call up for WiFi password. No information about anything in the room. Had to call room service to provide 2 extra mugs as it was 4 people staying. The room was not an upgrade. It was what I payed for. It had a very small bathroom and the water spilt out of the shower onto the floor. We used our towels to keep that area dry as it was right where the toilet was. Later that night went to get our drinks. Thought I’d get a coffee asked for an extra shot was advised it would be $4.50 extra for a shot of coffee. Bed was comfortable but was a little hot and stuffy in the room. Such a shame as we really used to enjoy coming Crowne Plaza it was our go to when staying in the city. I checked my credit card statement and have been charged twice of the one amount. Emailed crowne plaza and advised to send cars details so they can speak to the bank to refund the money more quicker as it takes 2 weeks. Did not get an explanation why. But the extra amount only appeared on my card 4 days later. That’s pretty ridiculous.

Compared to other Crowne Plaza which Ive stayed, this is of a slightly lower standard, especially in terms of decor, quality of bathroom supplies, a welcome drink for members and not fitted with energy saving controls, such as card reader to activate the rooms electricity. Price wise, relatively competitive.

I loved this Hotel, nice service, friendly and helpful staff, and the manager's were very helpful too. Amazing room with a view of River. Really nice food. And transport too and from the Hotel to Albert park, which was amazing. Formula 1 first race of the 2019 season. OMG let the fun begin.
Thank you too all the staff.
I Will definitely be back.
