Carlos Cantina - Croydon

I love this place! The food is excellent. Since we were there last the servings seem to have shrunk.

I have been coming here since it first opened and I must say hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants out there.

We've been dining here since 2020, probably once a month, and it's always fantastic! Good food, good service, good portion size, and reasonably priced. Can't go wrong with the fun atmosphere either!

We love Carlos Cantina Croydon, the staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is great and the restaurant doesn't get noisy or too overcrowded. Highly recommend!

As always a great night out with friends. The customer service was wonderful and our server had a joke or two with us. Meals came out hot and sizzling and tasty. Dessert was good too. Wish the death by chocolate was like it was in the 90's. Will be back again soon

Lovely staff, delicious food, and super kid friendly. Really fast service and our server was just lovely.

The food is good but I could not eat the salsa sauce it was so spicy. I wish they had a mild option before I ordered as I ordered so much with this salsa sauce and I had to avoid anything that was covered in it.

The food was great and there was plenty of it. The service was also great and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.
But although the food and service was spot on, there was a funky, damp smell in the restaurant as you first get there. It did seem to disappear once meals starting coming out but they may need to check for a leak somewhere?
In saying all that, we will definitely be back. Especially on a Monday or Tuesday when it's 30% off. In these times, 30% off brings the prices back to what they were pre-covid.

Hoping the fish tacos and spicy margaritas get permanent spots on the menu! They were both specials and by far the best things we had both times we have recently visited!

Loved it! Amazing fresh food, quick friendly and attentive service, fun atmosphere and decor. I had planned on sharing my enchiladas with my hubby but they were just too good to share and he was loving his fajitas. Chocolate mousse was one of the best I have ever tried as well as the churros. We will be back.

While the service and atmosphere were nice, the food was just ok. Not bad, but definitely not great. The items we ordered were definitely not authentic but Australian versions of Mexican food.

I would say it is worth trying, once.

Wasn't expecting that good food because it's was during the Christmas) new year season when most restaurants were closed. Such a surprise.

Only thing I hated was that you have to ask for the hot sauce. Yeah it's awful (sarcasm)

Do yourself a favour and go there. I will have to go back and try all the meals to find my favourite one

Great family restaurant! Great for kids- good selection of kids menu items and colouring in activity.
Service was good and food was nice. Recommend the churros for dessert

I may not know much about Mexican food is? But I do know what great food is and this place definitely hit the spot. I have been here twice and on both occasions I enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

Staff were friendly and approachable asking me if I wanted anything else with my meal and I also ordered a margarita which was AMAZING!

I love chilli as well and nothing from a bottle satisfied my bite for that extra bite to compliment all the wonderful flavours on my plate. So ask the friendly staff for the chefs special chilli sauce out back and its definitely the sauce you want if you live having from spice to elevate the amazing flavours in your dish.

Great vibes, highly recommend it. I believe the owner is the chef at back and it definitely shows.

I had the enchiladas top right hand corner. Only niggle is I think presentation can be improved.

The food was great for the price, and the portions were generous. Frozen cocktails were half price and tasted great.

We are quite the regulars at Carlos Cantina in Croydon. We have always had a good experience with delicious food. Their servings have always been very generous and usually the wait isn’t too long (even when busy). Highly recommend the Nachos and a Margarita or two!

Carlos Cantina never disappoints! The food is fresh, hot & most importantly incredibly tasty! Service is always with a smile. It's great to see the place busy after the challenges faced in the past couple of years. Keep up the excellent work!

The restaurant was very busy when we were there but the staff coped comfortably with it. We got appetisers, mains and drinks within a reasonable period of time and the staff were really friendly and positive. The meals were excellent as usual. So all 8 of us were happy.
