Bunnings Scoresby reviews
69 Terrible.
Honestly I have always felt uncomfortable going to Bunnings as I feel there's an underlying culture that there is a bit of a stigma against a certain group of people (the group I'd be in). On occasion I would get good service from other branches, but most of the time if I didn't fit the typical customer profile that would usually visit, I felt the service was negatively different.
Today was a perfect example of how I felt. There's a good range of products, but the staff members that I spoke to were just rude, didn't want to help, rolled their eyes. In the gardening section today, there were 3 staff members talking amongst themselves, which I understand they perhaps had matters to attend to, but they clearly saw me as I patiently waited for them to finish their discussion before seeking help. The conversation finished and the male worker walked off by-passing me as if I didn't exist, the other female employee hurried away in the opposite direction and the final female employee turned her back on me and pretended that I wasn't there. I walked up to her to ask where a particular item was and in her can't be bothered tone, she rolled her eyes and told me which isle to head to.
Bunnings, I enjoy the range of products you provide, and I'm not saying everyone is like this, but there's definitely a handful of staff members who potentially may have stigmatised views towards certain cultural groups of people, and I feel that it's always a gamble on how well I'm going to be served depending on my luck on which staff member I get.
I usually don't write these type of reviews and nor do I enjoy or wish that I'd ever have to but this is how I feel towards what I experienced and have instilled due to my occasional visits to Bunnings.
Very nice place to shop.
Staff are always helpful.
Well stocked but do check online.
It's big, it's green, it's full of things I want.
Downgraded a star because of a rude self serve checkout operator. No barcode, said I should have picked up one with a barcode. FFs.
Unhelpful woman in the garden Dept when I was looking for pine bark chips even when Bunnings Scoresby's site showed there was stock.
Usually have no issues and in fact, it used to be my Bunnings of choice. But I went in there today and purchased a trolley-full of items, as you do, and got singled out by an older lady who requested to go through each compartment of my backpack for the first time- ever.
Usually I'm happy to oblige when inspections are being similarly requested of all other bag-weilding patrons. Given I was the only ethnic in the immediate vicinity at the time, it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth for being singled out like a thief.
If you're going to ask to go through bags, it should be done in a fair manner where all patrons are treated EQUALLY.
Greatly delighted with live music playing at Bunnings on a Saturday noon! Their cafe comfortably services shoppers! And as always, we find what we came out looking for:) friendly staff who just love their work!
The guy Brian in timber was great he helped me get everything I needed and cut to my requirements great bloke and great store
Undercover ‘shoppers’ were amusingly obvious and as per usual staff have little to no idea when asking basic questions about a product.
Really bad customer service, so much so that I will not be going back to this one.
I have been going here for years. However yesterday after I showed my receipt and item the older woman asked to look in my bag, I didn’t have a problem with that, but then she asked me to empty the contents of my bag!
They should only be asking you to empty the contents of your bags if they suspect that you have unpaid for goods, not as a standard random search. I spent 15 min in that store standing next to Bunnings workers trying to get assistance, there was eventually one guy who was really nice and helped me find what I needed, the rest were not interested in helping me. So it’s not like I was wondering around hovering near shelves being dodgy.
Had a great experience recently - placed a click and collect order for some plants and mulch but had an error with my order. The lovely staff member who brought out my order was so kind and helpful - I was a bit anxious about having to fix the issue but they were a pleasure to deal with. I ended up having to go into the store and each person I had to speak to was equally nice. Came away very pleased and with these beautiful plants!
They are always low on stock and they have rude old and grumpy checkout staff. Not recommended.
It was a terrible experience. The old lady casher at the timber side check out area are so rude, her response to me: I don't know what you are saying. May be the mask make it difficult, but there are lots of other more polite response. To manager's in Bunning: if your staff discriminate people who are not having Australian accent, or just simply racist, please do something. (Time at the counter is 4: 38pm Nov 29,2021)
Always seem to be out of stock with something i need yet other stores in the area have it in stock. SOLUTION= spend less time hiring attractive 18-21 year old females and more time making sure stock is up to date.
They are letting people in the store with kids, people are buying gardening stuff, how is that essential?
Bunnings - Lowest prices are definitely just the beginning.
I absolutely hate this Bunnings as I can't stop spending money every time I go there!
Terrible customer service, waiting ages for apparently only one team member who can inspect trailer returns, very upsetting. Once he eventually rocked up didn’t even check it, just said you can leave ️
Appalling Click n Collect service! The lady on the phone took the order#, got the CarBay# and said someone will be out shortly with the items. Waited for ~40mins and little more when they put up shutters for the evening. Too make it worse no one was answering the phone. Gave up and returned home. Collected nothing but frustration today. Pathetic.
Scoresby stores is the worst online service. Ordered 2 items for an urgent project at home for a leaking shower. Click and collect. Called their online service the next day on hold for 15min then hung up. Tried again on hold for 29 min. No response. Not good enough Bunnings very disappointed.
Lady who answered the phone for my click and collect reminded me of when I was 10 years old and my parents forced me to talk to my grandparents on the phone. She did not want to be there.
Overall I am very happy with Bunnings, however in this instance. I ordered paint early Saturday morning hoping it would be available for pick up Saturday Afternoon. I called to ask if it would be ready at around 3pm only to be told that they are very busy and more than likely it will not be ready until sometime on Monday. My question is why could they not advise this earlier before taking my money? So much for finishing the job over the weekend! Very disappointing Bunnings.
