Bourkies Bake House

Beautiful and yummy cakes and slices. Lots of options for bread and pies. Vegan pie was yummy. Would have loved if the spinach and ricotta was available egg-free. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Genuine staff and service with a great seating area and wide selection. Pies were hot and fresh, and their dessert selections were delicious too.

We will be back on our next visit in the area.

A favourite bakery, good pies and vanilla slices, worth the detour to make a stop and grab a bite.
If no on street parking is available theres parking behind the shops.

Bourkies has been an icon of Woodend for a long time. I was a bit disappointed on this visit. Very busy as always on a weekend. Roast Lamb with gravy was excellent. Had no pepper or mushroom pies so settled for steak and onion which was more gravy and onion and not enjoyable. Vanilla slice was also very ordinary and not to our liking.

On a road trip, stopped in, great pie, great service, lots of other baked goods tempted my sweet tooth… will get those next time. I’ll be back!

Plenty of space, helpful staff, good food. Very popular with locals and tourists.
Always busy, which is a good sign. Pies are delicious and well filled; vanilla slices are as good as any around. A favourite place for me to stop when travelling the Calder Highway.

Good home cooked cakes, pies and bread. The vege pasties were excellent as well as good old lamingtons and amazing vanilla slice.an Aussie pleasure.very busy but well organised for service.if you are in the area pop up to Hanging Rock or/and the cross at Mt Macedon. There is a good cafe at the Mount as well.

Essential stop when going through Woodend for great meals, pastries (can't go past their custard tarts and vanilla slices) and service.

Vanilla slice was best I have had and I have smashes a few in 67 years. Bought one for a colleague tempted to eat that too soft custard tasty icing and pastry selfish.

Beautiful Bakery, Amazing Variety and everything we had tried has been wonderful. This has been our family weekend tradition for the last few months and will continue to be. Highly recommended!

Great Pies, Pasties & Sausage rolls. Coffee and hot chocolates were good too. Very reasonable price for Bakery goods.

Nearly 20 years since I last lived in Woodend! Still the best vanilla slice in the country and the best pepper pie I kind find anywhere!

Great bakery, very busy and covid protocols make for cumbersome and slow service. My pie was delicious.

Worrying re Covid safety as only 3 people (2 of us) with masks on, check in difficult to find. Outside dining there was no request for Covid tick. Staff wearing masks.

This an awesome bakery wonderful, variety of pies, bread, sweets coffee and lovely service. Well priced and very clean spotless store.

Young fella needed a little more sense of humour but service was nice and prompt. Pasties were yummmmmmm!

Great place to have breakfast. We were heading to Melbourne from Bendigo. Specifically stopped at Bourkies at Woodend to have our breakfast. Excellent service. Beautiful and polite girls. Keep up. We will definitely come back
