Bistrot d'Orsay reviews
69Lovely food, especially the duck. Great service, just a shame about the smokers next door.
Came here for two times, the service and their food were fantastic, especially their Bouillabaisse,Ive been to France Marseille few times, and I can say their bouillabaisse is authentic and yum!
Delicious. I ordered the linguine and it was the best seafood pasta I've ever had. Very fresh ingredients and prompt service
Wandering past and the aroma drew us in. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, fabulous service amd wonderful atmosphere. We'll be back.
Wow. This place is fantastic. Great food, warm friendly service and a lovely intimate room. To the management do not let go of that fabulous young lady who looked after us tonight. She is a gem!
Wonderful intimate place with outstanding food and service. Highly recommend. Also as a solo diner I felt really relaxed. Thanks team xx
Exceptional meal. Fabulous staff. Thank you for making my birthday so special. We will definitely be back 10/10
Returned to Bistrot d'Orsay 12 years after first visiting, for an anniversary dinner. Our experience surpassed our expectation and memory. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and absolutely exquisite food. Could not fault one dish.
What can I say, just divine! Beautiful food and perfectly presented as well amazing staff that go above and beyond. A must do in Melbourne!
Great ambience and AMAZING service, especially impressed with how they indicated each diner's order, such that they serve the right food to the right person so efficiently without needing to ask the table when the food arrived.
Absolutely delicious food and such awesome friendly service cant wait to go back, was such a lovely evening
Superb food. The best steak ever - and we've had a few. Staff were so attentive. Made our anniversary very special.
Every time I come here I am impressed - we came to have dinner before the show and the food was off the charts delicious. Service was great and the atmosphere and the overall experience was fun and really a worthwhile evening of fun and great food
Whether you’re a discerning Frenchman or a bogan les named Joan look no further than this nifty little establishment to get your snail fix. Unfortunately they weren’t serving any snails today but you can blame covid for that, or Putin or women with balls it’s one of those. So I went for the coq au vin which I must say was delicious, even through the serving sizes were smaller than Glanus Berejiklians career prospects but that’s what you get when you go somewhere a bit fancy. The gnocchi I tasted was delicious and softer than a cloud. The place was busy yet the service was expedient, attentive and polite. We had a great time and would like to come back one day for a tasty snail and a wheel of cheese.
My favourite Restaurant in all of Melbourne. Been here a couple times now and never disappoints. Best steak in the state as well.
Amazing experience! Came here for the first time to celebrate my partner's birthday and left ready to come back. Would totally recommend and hope to come back again soon.
It had been a long time since we ate here and I'm so glad we returned. Although they didn't serve us any bread, the rest of the service was very attentive and the food spectacular. The aaté and the goat's cheese soufflé entres were outstanding. The coq au vin blanc and the eye fillet steak spectacular. The chocolate mousse and the crème brûlée perfect. Starting the evening with a pastis and a kir reminded us of being in France again.
Exceptional dining experience the moment we walked in warmly greeted by the lovely Simone- in fact all staff were so attentive Thankyou so much for a beautiful lunch. Definitely coming back.
Lunch at Bistrot D'orsay, I decided to try a few typically French dishes I have not eaten before.
Steak Tartare - wow, this is so delicious! There's a lovely balance with the pickle juice of the cornichons providing the right amount of acidity, a slight peppery flavour from the horseradish as well as a creaminess from the Parmesan custard, the quail egg helps tie it all together, tender beef cut fine, crunch from the mini toast, a nice punchy salad to round it all off.
Bouillabaisse - Marseilles' famous soup of prawns, scallops, fish & mussels in a saffron, tomato, fennel broth with crouton & rouille
Another standout dish perfect for the cold weather. The broth is packed full of flavour and depth, the seafood flavour evident amongst the rich tomato. Lots of tender perfectly cooked seafood which I love. Succulent scallops, tender mussels, chunky prawns, yummy fish. I used the bread to clean the bowl. So warming and now so full! Such a lovely ambience to enjoy such fine French fare.
